Description
The Hoyer Advance Electric is Joerns Healthcare's foldable aluminum floor lift. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Joerns prints a safe working load of 341 lbs / 155 kg on the current spec sheet and in the user manual.
The boom is electric. The legs are swan-neck so the lift can get closer to a wide chair or commode. The mast folds without tools, and the lift can be separated into two sections for a vehicle boot. Total weight with the power pack is 69.9 lb in Joerns' electric column.
Who it is for
This lift is for a person who needs a full-body transfer inside 341 lb, when a compact fold matters more than a 500 lb frame. If you need more capacity, see the Drive Levantar at 500 lb or the Span America F400 at 400 lb. Another foldable 350 lb option is the Handicare Carina 350. If the person can bear some weight, a sit-to-stand lift is a different product.
- Smaller homes that need a lift that folds for a closet or a car
- Transfers from the floor or onto a care bed, which Joerns lists on this model
- Anyone whose therapist named a Hoyer Advance sling, not a generic two-point bar
How it lifts
The Advance Electric is a passive floor lift. The caregiver opens the tapered legs, attaches a Hoyer sling to the six-point spreader bar, and uses the handset to raise the boom. Joerns says the lift is for a short-distance transfer after a risk assessment, in sitting, sitting/recumbent, or recumbent. Read the manual and use Joerns' training resources before the first transfer. We will not write that one caregiver is always enough. Joerns does not print that line on this model.
The lift is not a transport device. Do not push a loaded lift faster than a slow walking pace, and do not lock the casters while you are lifting.
Hoyer Advance Electric specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU HOY-ADVANCE-E, the electric Advance. The specification tab holds the stored values. Joerns' user-manual electric column prints a 341 lb / 155 kg safe working load, 51 inch maximum overall length, 73 inch maximum overall height, folded size about 17.1 by 46.4 by 21.6 inches, spreader-bar height 15.3 inches to 66.5 inches, turning radius 55.9 inches, legs 26.3 inches closed and 42.5 inches open on the outside, 1.1 inch ground clearance, and a 69.9 lb total weight. The battery is a 24 volt sealed lead-acid pack at 3.2 ampere-hours.
Warranty for HoyerPro lifts, on Joerns' 2025 warranty PDF, is 2 years on mechanical and electrical components and lifetime on aluminum structural components and welds. Batteries and casters are 90 days. The user manual still prints a 5 year aluminum line. We follow the 2025 PDF.
Slings and spreader bar
Joerns fits a six-point spreader bar. The Advance is designed for the Hoyer sling range. The manual lists Hoyer Quickfit, Quickfit Deluxe, Full Back, Access, Long Seat, and Silkfit as examples. Joerns also writes that Hoyer slings and lifters are not interchangeable with other makers' products. Do not use the standard two-point or four-point slings from other Hoyer lifts. The sling is sold separately. Start with our full-body slings or universal slings, and we will confirm a Hoyer Advance sling.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor patient lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?
Yes. If you only need the lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a floor lift before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on patient lift rentals in Brampton.
Rental packages include an electric floor lift and a sling. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice. The shortest rental term on the rentals page is one week.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Joerns Hoyer manufacturer warranty
Joerns' 2025 HoyerPro warranty covers the original purchaser with 2 years on mechanical and electrical components and a lifetime on aluminum structural components and welds. Batteries and casters are 90 days. Consumer Hoyer SKUs such as HML400 are outside this program. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Does ADP cover patient lifts in Ontario?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover patient lifts. Other funding routes may still help, depending on the person and the assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check which path fits before anyone starts paperwork.
What is the safe working load of the Hoyer Advance Electric?
Joerns prints 341 lbs / 155 kg. That is the number on the spec sheet and in the user manual. It is not 350 lb. Stay inside 341 lb for the person plus anything in the sling.
Can I use a regular 2-point or 4-point Hoyer sling?
No. Joerns lists specific Advance slings. The six-point bar is not a generic Hoyer hook. We will confirm a Hoyer Quickfit, Full Back, Access, Long Seat, Silkfit, or Quickfit Deluxe sling that matches this lift.
Does a sling come with the Advance?
No. Joerns ships the lift, hand control, battery pack, and charging lead. The sling is sold separately.
How many lifts will a full charge do?
Joerns does not print a lifts-per-charge number on the current spec sheet. The battery is a 24 volt, 3.2 ampere-hour sealed pack. Charge it on the schedule in the manual rather than running it flat.
Does the mast have to come off to travel?
No. The mast folds and stays on the base. Joerns also allows the lift to be separated into two sections for a vehicle boot.
Can I rent a patient lift before buying?
Yes. See current packages and rates on the patient lift rentals page. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program.
How fast can this lift be delivered in the GTA?
Purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service.
What is included with the Hoyer Advance Electric?

What is the warranty on the Hoyer Advance?
Joerns' 2025 HoyerPro PDF prints 2 years on mechanical and electrical parts and lifetime on aluminum structure and welds. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
