Description
The Harmony Hi-Low is Harmony Products Inc.'s residential-look hi-low adjustable bed, sold as the Harmony Hi-Low Bed. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The wireless hand control moves the head section, the foot section, and the height of the bed, and it also tilts the sleep surface.
Harmony's current product page lists a deck height of 10.5 inches to 21.5 inches from the floor to the top of the deck, an 11 inch electric rise. Lift capacity is 880 lbs for the mattress and the people on the bed together. The base is built to look like furniture, with grey wipeable vinyl and brackets so you can add a residential headboard.
Who this bed is for
This bed is for a person who needs electric height, head, and foot at home, and who wants the bed to look like a regular bed rather than a hospital frame. The hi-low rise helps with the sit-to-stand transfer. The same hand control still lowers the deck for getting in, and raises it so a caregiver can change linen without working at floor height.
Families usually call us when someone is coming home from hospital, when a regular bed has become hard to get in and out of, or when they want Twin XL, Full, Queen, or Split King sizing instead of a 36 inch hospital deck. If you want the same Harmony brand with a hospital-style 36 inch deck, a wired handset, and Trendelenburg tilt, see the Harmony 8199 home care bed. If you want a Harmony lifestyle base with a higher lift rating and no hospital-style hi-low, see the Harmony 3 bed. If you want a slimmer Harmony lifestyle base, see the Harmony Pro bed.
- Home care, where the bed has to work in a bedroom and still raise and lower like a hospital bed
- Anyone who needs help moving from sitting to standing, and wants that motion from a wireless hand control
- Two people who want a Split King so each side moves on its own
What you get
The Harmony Hi-Low is a full-electric adjustable base with an 11 inch hi-low rise. The wireless 22-button hand control positions the backrest, the foot section, the overall height, and the tilt. Presets on that handset are Zero Gravity, TV, Anti-Sore, and Flat. Two memory buttons store the positions you use most. Dual-zone massage, a flashlight on the remote, and under-bed LED lighting come with the base. Bluetooth control is built in.
Westin's listing is the Harmony Hi Low Bed Package with Mattress. The frame arrives as a split design for a simpler carry-in. Headboard brackets, mattress retainers, and the backup power supply ship with the base. Use Bed Width below to choose TWIN XL (38" X 80"), QUEEN (59" X 80"), SPLIT KING (76" X 80"), or FULL (53" X 76").
- Wireless 22-button hand control, backlit, with a built-in flashlight
- Electric hi-low, head, foot, and tilt from one remote
- Zero Gravity, TV, Anti-Sore, and Flat presets, plus two memory positions
- Dual-zone massage
- Under-bed LED lighting
- Grey wipeable vinyl
- Split frame for carry-in
- Adjustable legs (5 inch, 2.5 inch, and 2 inch sections on the current Harmony sheet)
- Headboard brackets so a residential headboard can attach (headboard not included)
- Mattress retainers
- Backup power supply included
- Built-in Bluetooth app
Side rails and casters are optional and are not in the carton. Harmony's half-length rails fasten to the platform that raises and lowers, with four height settings, and they mount at the head or the middle. The caster set is six lockable 2.5 inch wheels that fit the adjustable legs. Ask us if you want either accessory booked with setup.
This is not a wall-hugger. Harmony's current sheet prints wall hugger as no. The rear section of the frame can come off so your own headboard can go on. There is no USB charging port on this base.
Harmony Hi-Low specifications
These figures are for the Harmony Hi-Low Bed Westin sells on this listing. The specification tab holds the stored values. Harmony's current product page lists a deck height of 10.5 inches to 21.5 inches from the floor to the top of the deck. Lift capacity is 880 lbs, and that number includes the mattress and the people on the bed. Twin XL foundation weight is 238 lbs (108 kg). Queen foundation weight is 298 lbs (135 kg).
Harmony sizes the current sheet as Twin XL 38 inches by 80 inches, Full 53 inches by 75 inches, Full XL 53 inches by 80 inches, Queen 59 inches by 80 inches, and Split King 76 inches by 80 inches (two Twin XL bases with a sync cord). This listing's Bed Width picker uses TWIN XL (38" X 80"), QUEEN (59" X 80"), SPLIT KING (76" X 80"), and FULL (53" X 76"). Full XL is a Harmony size we do not list on this picker. Backrest travel on Harmony's table is 70 degrees. Foot-section travel is 35 degrees.
Warranty for the original purchaser is a lifetime on the frame, and 3 years on parts, with mechanical parts pro-rated in years 4 through 20. Harmony's owner manual adds that year 1 includes labour, and years 2 and 3 are parts only.
Bed Width
Use Bed Width to set the size before you order. The names on the picker are the names we use here.
- TWIN XL (38" X 80")
- QUEEN (59" X 80")
- SPLIT KING (76" X 80")
- FULL (53" X 76")
Split King is two Twin XL bases that sync, so each person can move their side. Confirm the mattress with us when you book delivery. This listing is sold as a package with a mattress sized for the width you pick. If you want Harmony's Full XL (53 inches by 80 inches), or optional half-length rails or casters, call (905) 451-7743 before you order so we do not ship the wrong carton.
Use only the rails Harmony lists for this frame, and keep the mattress centred so the person cannot slip into a gap. Rails are a reminder to help keep someone from rolling out. They are not a restraint and they are not a handle for getting in or out of bed.
Funding help for a hospital bed in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. Depending on the person, other programs may help, including ODSP, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, hardship funding programs, and community support programs.
Westin Healthcare works with these funding programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page and we will check which programs fit your situation before any paperwork starts. The funding page lists the programs we work with.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this bed across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a bed first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased beds are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital beds are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the bed is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a hospital bed before I buy?
Yes. If you only need the bed for a recovery, or you want to live with a full-electric bed before you buy, rent first. Hospital bed rentals start from $150 a month. See current packages and rates on hospital bed rentals in Brampton.
Rental packages include side rails and a therapeutic medical mattress. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice. The shortest rental term is one month.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the bed needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Harmony manufacturer warranty
Harmony Products Inc.'s warranty for the original purchaser of this bed is a lifetime on the frame, and 3 years on parts, with mechanical parts pro-rated in years 4 through 20. The owner manual adds that year 1 includes labour, and years 2 and 3 are parts only. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Does OHIP cover hospital beds?
No. Hospital beds in Ontario are not covered by OHIP. Depending on the person, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, or a community support program may still help. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check which path fits before anyone starts paperwork.
Does ADP cover hospital beds in Ontario?
No. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. The funding page lists the programs Westin Healthcare works with, including March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, and community support programs.
What is the difference between a full-electric and a semi-electric hospital bed?
The Harmony Hi-Low is full electric. The wireless hand control adjusts the head, the foot, and the height of the bed, and it also tilts the sleep surface. A semi-electric bed usually moves the head and foot with a motor and leaves height to a crank.
How is the Harmony Hi-Low different from the Harmony 8199?
The Hi-Low is Harmony's residential-look sibling: Twin XL through Split King sizing, a wireless remote, an 880 lb lift, massage, and an 11 inch hi-low rise. The Harmony 8199 is the hospital-style card: a 36 inch by 80 inch sleep surface, a wired 10-button handset, Trendelenburg tilt, and a 400 lb user weight. Pick the Hi-Low when you want the bed to look more like furniture. Pick the 8199 when you want a hospital deck and tilt.
What mattress fits the Harmony Hi-Low?
Match the mattress to the width you pick under Bed Width. Harmony sizes Twin XL at 38 inches by 80 inches, Queen at 59 inches by 80 inches, Split King as two Twin XL surfaces, and Full at 53 inches by 75 inches on the current sheet. This listing is sold as a package with a mattress. Confirm the surface with us when you book. Ask your therapist before you pick an alternating-pressure system.
Can I rent a hospital bed before buying?
Yes. Westin Healthcare rents full-electric hospital beds with side rails and a therapeutic mattress. See current packages and rates on the hospital bed rentals page. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program so we can apply the program rules to this bed.
How fast can a hospital bed be delivered in the GTA?
Westin's team delivers and sets up purchased beds across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the hospital bed rental service, not automatically to a purchased bed.
What is included with this Harmony Hi-Low?
You get the Harmony Hi-Low full-electric base with the wireless 22-button hand control, headboard brackets, mattress retainers, adjustable legs, and the backup power supply. Bed Width sets TWIN XL (38" X 80"), QUEEN (59" X 80"), SPLIT KING (76" X 80"), or FULL (53" X 76"). This listing is sold as a package with a mattress. Side rails and casters are optional and are not in the carton. A headboard is not included.
What is the weight capacity of the Harmony Hi-Low?
Harmony lists an 880 lb lift capacity. That figure includes the mattress and the people on the bed, spread evenly across the platform. It is not a 36 inch bariatric hospital deck. If you need a wider hospital-style frame, ask us about a bariatric hospital bed instead of stretching this base.
What happens if the power goes out?
The backup power supply ships with the bed. Harmony's owner manual says to put two 9V batteries (not included) in that supply for a power cut, and to use the emergency flatten button on the control box if the remote fails. Keep spare 9V batteries in the room.
What is the warranty on the Harmony Hi-Low?
For the original purchaser, Harmony covers the frame for a lifetime and the parts for 3 years, with mechanical parts pro-rated in years 4 through 20. The owner manual adds that year 1 includes labour. Those terms are printed in Harmony's Hi-Low sell sheet and PART#532K0498 manual. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work on our service and repairs page.
Can I add side rails or use my own headboard?
Yes. Harmony lists optional half-length rails with four height settings for this frame, and the base includes headboard brackets so a residential headboard can attach. Rails and a headboard are not in the carton. Call (905) 451-7743 if you want rails booked with setup.
