Description

The Golden Eagle All Terrain scooter is Golden's 4-wheel outdoor scooter for rough ground and a 500 lb (227 kg) rating. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets the GR596 up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

Golden rates it at 500 lbs (227 kg), 11 mph (17.7 km/h), and 34 miles (54.7 km) at 200 lbs on the standard 75 AH batteries. Ground clearance is 4 inches (10.2 cm). The turning radius is 76 inches (193 cm). Assembled weight is 377 lbs (171 kg) with those 75 AH packs.

Who this scooter is for

This scooter is for a person who needs a heavy duty mobility scooter for grass, gravel, and uneven outdoor routes, stays at or under 500 lbs, and has room to store a 63 inch (160 cm) by 31.7 inch (80.5 cm) machine. Families usually call us when a Companion or Avenger still feels small for the property, or when they want the 11 mph top speed and adjustable suspension.

If you want the same 500 lb class at 8 mph with a shorter 56.5 inch body, start with the Golden Eagle GR595. If you want a 500 lb 3-wheel that stays on solid tires, see the Companion HD. The Eagle All Terrain is not a travel scooter and does not come apart for a car trunk.

  • 500 lb (227 kg) rating with a 200 amp controller
  • 34 mile (54.7 km) range on 75 AH batteries at 200 lbs
  • Front and rear adjustable suspension and 13 by 6.5 inch pneumatic turf tires

Range, speed, and batteries

Golden's current Eagle All Terrain sell sheet rates the GR596 at 34 miles (54.7 km) at 200 lbs (91 kg) on two 75 AH batteries. An optional 100 AH pair is listed for longer range; Golden does not print a mile figure for that upgrade. Top speed is 11 mph (17.7 km/h). Heavier riders, hills, turf, and cold weather shorten those figures. The charger is off-board. A 200 amp controller and rear-wheel drive move the scooter.

Each 75 AH battery weighs 52 lbs (23.6 kg). The 100 AH pair weighs 67 lbs (30.4 kg) each. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it. USB on the tiller charges a phone. The colour LCD console has three gauge layouts and a turning-speed reduction sensor.

Portability and transport

The Golden Eagle All Terrain is a full outdoor scooter, not a portable travel scooter. Assembled weight is 377 lbs (171 kg) with 75 AH batteries and 407 lbs (185 kg) with 100 AH batteries. The base is 208 lbs (94.3 kg). The captain seat is 54 lbs (24.5 kg). Length is 63 inches (160 cm). Width is 31.7 inches (80.5 cm). It does not fold and Golden does not print a car-trunk disassembly sequence.

Westin delivers and sets the GR596 up in the home or garage. If it is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Golden does not print an airline claim for this scooter. The 75 AH and 100 AH packs are large sealed lead-acid batteries, not lithium carry-on packs.

Golden Eagle All Terrain specifications

Eagle or Eagle All Terrain: which outdoor scooter fits

The All Terrain is the faster, wider outdoor step: 11 mph, 76 inch turn, 200 amp controller, 13 by 6.5 inch turf tires, NFC key, 34 miles on 75 AH. The Eagle GR595 is the 8 mph, 69 inch turn, 140 amp sibling with 23 miles on NF22 or 32 miles on optional 75 AH. The Avenger is the 7 mph 4-wheel heavy duty scooter that ships without batteries. Pick the All Terrain for rough ground and the 11 mph rating. Pick the Eagle if you want the shorter body and the NF22 starting battery.

Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Golden Eagle All Terrain first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

This scooter is oversized. If it is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Golden manufacturer warranty

Golden's printed Eagle All Terrain terms are 5 years on the frame, 2 years on the drive train, 2 years on electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.

Frequently asked questions

How far can a mobility scooter go?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain travels up to 34 miles (54.7 km) at 200 lbs (91 kg) on the standard 75 AH batteries. Golden lists a 100 AH upgrade for longer range and does not print a mile figure for that pair.

How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain uses an off-board charger on two large 75 AH or 100 AH batteries. Golden does not print a charge-time figure on the All Terrain sell sheet. Ask us how long the packs we ship take to fill.

Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain uses large 75 AH or 100 AH sealed lead-acid batteries. Golden does not call this an airline scooter. It is not a folding travel scooter.

Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?

Golden does not publish an All Terrain owner manual on the Canada manuals page. On the rest of the Golden scooter line the manuals say not to operate or store the scooter in rain, snow, mist, or below-freezing temperatures. Treat the All Terrain the same way unless Golden prints a different weather note on your unit.

Does ADP cover scooters?

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a power scooter when a long-term need is confirmed through an ADP-registered therapist and an ADP-registered vendor. Westin Healthcare walks that route with you. A scooter bought before those steps is not reimbursed.

What is the difference between a 3-wheel and a 4-wheel scooter?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain is a 4-wheel outdoor scooter with a 76 inch (193 cm) turning radius. A 3-wheel Golden such as the Companion HD turns in 51 inches and uses solid tires. Four wheels here are for outdoor stability, not indoor folding.

What is the range of the Golden Eagle All Terrain?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain is rated at 34 miles (54.7 km) at 200 lbs on two 75 AH batteries. That figure shortens with a heavier rider, hills, and soft ground.

Does the Eagle All Terrain have suspension?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain has front and rear adjustable suspension. Golden prints that as the ride system for outdoor ground.

What is the weight capacity?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain is rated at 500 lbs (227 kg). Stay at or under that figure.

What is the warranty?

The Golden Eagle All Terrain carries 5 years on the frame, 2 years on the drive train and electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
