Description
The Golden Avenger scooter is Golden's 4-wheel heavy duty mobility scooter for outdoor routes and a 500 lb (227 kg) rating. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets the GA541 up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Golden rates it at 500 lbs (227 kg), 7 mph (11.3 km/h), and 18 miles (29 km) at the 500 lb rating on two NF22 batteries. Ground clearance is 4 inches (10.2 cm). The turning radius is 67 inches (170 cm). Assembled weight is 265 lbs (120 kg). Batteries are not included on the Canada card.
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who needs a heavy duty mobility scooter with 13 inch pneumatic tires, stays at or under 500 lbs, and wants a 7 mph captain-seat 4-wheel. Families usually call us when a Companion HD still feels light for grass and gravel, and they do not need the Eagle's 8 mph chassis.
If you want an 8 mph outdoor 4-wheel with a storage box, see the Golden Eagle. If you want 11 mph and turf tires, see the Eagle All Terrain. If you want a 500 lb 3-wheel on solid tires, see the Companion HD. The Avenger is not a travel scooter.
- 500 lb (227 kg) rating and a 7 mph (11.3 km/h) top speed
- 18 miles (29 km) at the 500 lb rating on two NF22 batteries
- 13 inch pneumatic tires; batteries not included
Range, speed, and batteries
Golden's Avenger owner manual rates range at 18 miles (29 km) at maximum weight capacity. The Canada product page prints 30 km, which matches that figure. Top speed is 7 mph (11.3 km/h). Heavier riders already sit at the rating; hills, foam-filled tires, and cold weather shorten the day. The charger is off-board. Golden asks for 6 to 8 hours after daily use and 12 hours on a new pair.
Standard batteries, when fitted, are two NF22 packs at 37 lbs (16.8 kg) each. Golden's Canada page and sell sheet say batteries are not included. A 140 amp PG S controller and rear-wheel drive move the scooter. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it.
Portability and transport
The Avenger is a full outdoor scooter. Assembled weight is 265 lbs (120 kg). Front and rear halves are 68 lbs (30.8 kg) each. The captain seat is 55 lbs (24.9 kg). Length is 57.5 inches (146 cm). Width is 24.5 inches (62 cm). It does not fold. Westin delivers and sets the GA541 up in the home or garage.
Golden does not print an airline claim. The NF22 packs are sealed lead-acid, not lithium carry-on packs. The owner manual says not to operate or store the scooter in rain, snow, mist, or below-freezing temperatures. Foam-filled tires are optional and Golden says they shorten range.

Avenger, Eagle, or Companion HD: which 500 lb scooter fits
The Avenger is the 7 mph 4-wheel step: 13 inch pneumatic tires, 67 inch turn, batteries sold separately. The Eagle is the 8 mph outdoor 4-wheel with a storage box. The Companion HD is the 6 mph 3-wheel on solid tires with a 22 inch seat. Pick Avenger for outdoor pneumatic tires at 7 mph. Pick Eagle for more speed. Pick Companion HD for a 3-wheel turn and a wider seat.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this scooter across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it, and show you the tiller, charger port, and lighting before we leave. Batteries are fitted only if you ordered them with the scooter.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Golden Avenger first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This scooter is oversized. If it is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden's printed Avenger terms are lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on the drive train, 2 years on electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Golden Avenger travels up to 18 miles (29 km) at the 500 lb rating on two NF22 batteries, as printed in Golden's owner manual. Hills, foam-filled tires, and a full load shorten that figure.
How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?
The Golden Avenger uses an off-board charger. Golden asks for 6 to 8 hours after daily use and 12 hours on a new pair of batteries.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Golden Avenger uses two NF22 sealed lead-acid batteries when they are fitted. Golden does not call this an airline scooter. It is not a folding travel scooter.
Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Golden Avenger owner manual says not to operate or store the scooter where it will be exposed to rain, snow, mist, or below-freezing temperatures. It is not an all-weather scooter.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a power scooter when a long-term need is confirmed through an ADP-registered therapist and an ADP-registered vendor. Westin Healthcare walks that route with you. A scooter bought before those steps is not reimbursed.
What is the difference between a 3-wheel and a 4-wheel scooter?
The Golden Avenger is a 4-wheel outdoor scooter with a 67 inch (170 cm) turning radius. A 3-wheel Golden such as the Companion HD turns in 51 inches and uses solid tires. Four wheels here are for outdoor stability.
Are batteries included with the Golden Avenger?
The Golden Avenger Canada page and sell sheet say batteries are not included. The scooter is built for two NF22 batteries. Ask us to add a pair on the order if you need them delivered with the scooter.
How fast does the Golden Avenger go?
The Golden Avenger is rated at 7 mph (11.3 km/h). That is Golden's printed top speed on the sell sheet and owner manual.
What is the warranty?
The Golden Avenger carries a lifetime frame term, 2 years on the drive train and electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
