Description
The Future Mobility Stellato II is a Category 2 folding wheelchair, ADP device WM0001188. Westin Healthcare builds it in Brampton for homes across the Greater Toronto Area after an ADP-registered therapist assessment. The chair is configured to that assessment. It is not an off-the-shelf cart item for next-day delivery.
Future Mobility's brochure lists a 265 lb rating, a 14 to 22 inch seat width, a 16 to 21 inch seat depth, and a 12 to 19 inch seat-to-floor range. The frame folds. Large rear wheels and pushrims let the person self-propel. A companion can also push from the handles. Future Mobility builds the chair in Canada.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who needs a long-term lightweight folding manual wheelchair in the ADP Category 2 band, and whose therapist names the Stellato II after an assessment. Families usually call us when they need a folding frame the person can self-propel, with a wide seat-size range and a 265 lb rating.
If you want another current Category 2 folder, see the Maple Leaf NRG Plus Gold or the Motion Composites MOVE. A transport chair with small rear wheels is a different product and is not this Stellato II.
- A Category 2 folding manual after an ADP assessment
- Self-propel use, or companion push
- A 265 lb rating and a 14 to 22 inch seat
Design and build
The Stellato II is a folding frame with an elliptical heavy-duty cross-brace and an oversized pivot. Future Mobility uses a multi-position axle plate for seat-to-floor height and height-adjustable caster journals with a 12 to 19 inch range. One side-frame design covers hemi and standard heights. Arms flip back. Hangers swing away, with elevating hangers as an option.
Rear wheels are 20, 22, or 24 inches. Casters are 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 inches. Anti-tips flip. Push handles angle. A side storage pocket sits on the upholstery. Colours on the brochure include Wet Black, Silver, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, and Yellow.
- Folding frame with a symmetrical cross-brace
- Multi-position axle plate
- Flip-back arms and swing-away hangers
- Seat-to-floor 12 to 19 inches
- 265 lb rating
Stellato II specifications
These figures are from Future Mobility's Stellato II brochure. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the 265 lb brochure rating, not a leftover 250 lb line, and use 16 to 21 inch depth, not 22 inch depth.
Seat 14 to 22 inches wide by 16 to 21 inches deep. Seat-to-floor 12 to 19 inches (the lowest small-frame row on the order form is 13.25 inches with 20 inch wheels and 4 inch casters). Overall width is seat width plus 8 inches. Rear wheels 20, 22, or 24 inches. Casters 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 inches. Capacity 265 lb.
Warranty for the original purchaser is lifetime on the frame, two years on materials and workmanship, and 90 days on upholstery, under normal use.
Colour, width, and depth
The Stellato II is built to the assessment. Westin sets Color, Seat Width, and Seat Depth from the therapist's measurements and the Future Mobility form. Official brochure widths are 14 to 22 inches. Official brochure depths are 16 to 21 inches.
This model is a standard self-propel wheelchair. Transport chairs use small rear wheels and are companion-pushed only.
ADP funding for a Category 2 wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Once the chair is built to the assessment, Westin's own team delivers it across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, unfold it, and show you the brakes, the fold, the anti-tips, and the footrests before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Category 2 chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date after they are built.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Frequently asked questions
What does Category 2 mean on the Stellato II?
Category 2 is the Ontario ADP lightweight manual band: a folding chair in the 25 to 38 lb range with swing-away footrests and removable arms. Future Mobility prints ADP code WM0001188 on the brochure. The Ministry files Stellato II as an Adult Lightweight Standard manual.
Is the Stellato II on the ADP approved list?
Yes. Future Mobility prints WM0001188 on the brochure, and the Ministry list carries the same code. The chair belongs in the ADP Approved and Folding public categories as well as Type 2.
Who qualifies for ADP on this chair?
You must be an Ontario resident with a valid health card and a disability that needs the device for 6 months or longer. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist has to assess you before the chair is ordered. We cannot promise that a specific person will be approved.
How does the 75 / 25 split work?
For an eligible client, the ADP-registered vendor bills ADP 75% of the approved price and the client pays the remaining 25%, plus any extras that are not on the ADP list. People on Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD can be covered at 100% of the approved price.
What is the assessment process?
An ADP-registered OT or PT measures the person, names the category and the device, and completes the clinical part of the application. Westin helps finish the form and submits it. Do not buy the chair first. A device ordered before those steps is not reimbursed.
How long does ADP take?
Ontario aims to review a mobility-aid application within 8 weeks of receiving it. Future Mobility then builds the chair to the approved form. We will give you a delivery date once the chair is released.
Can I try a Stellato II before the order is placed?
Come into a Brampton or Toronto store and we will show you a Category 2 folding chair so you can feel the fold, the brakes, and the seat width. A floor chair may not match the final colour or size. A therapist may also trial equipment during the assessment.
How should the seat width fit?
Measure the seated hip width and leave a little room on each side. The brochure lists 14 to 22 inches wide and 16 to 21 inches deep. Those numbers come from the assessment.
What is the weight capacity?
Future Mobility lists 265 lb on the brochure. Stay at or under that rating. Ignore a 250 lb figure if it still appears on an old spec line.
What happens if ADP declines the application?
Ontario sends a letter with the reason and the appeal steps. Westin will sit down with you, look at the letter, and talk through an appeal, a different category, or a non-ADP route. We do not order the custom chair until the path is clear.
What is the warranty on the Stellato II?
Lifetime on the frame, two years on materials and workmanship, and 90 days on upholstery, for the original purchaser under normal use. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
