Description
The Future Mobility Galaxy Lite is a Category 3 folding wheelchair from Future Mobility Products in Mississauga. Westin Healthcare configures it to an occupational therapist or physiotherapist prescription and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program lists it as an Adult Lightweight Performance manual wheelchair under device code WMA3FM010. It is not an off-the-shelf chair that ships the same day you click buy.
Future Mobility builds the Galaxy Lite as a folding aluminum frame with a multi-position axle plate so the therapist can set seat-to-floor height and centre of gravity. The current Future Mobility brochure rates the chair to 300 lbs. Seat width runs 16 to 24 inches and seat depth 16 to 22 inches on the July 2026 order form. An ADP-registered therapist assessment comes first. For eligible clients, ADP can fund 75 percent of the approved price.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who needs a Category 3 folding frame with axle-plate setup, who fits Future Mobility's 300 lb rating, and who will use the chair for six months or longer. Families usually call us when a Type 2 lightweight chair cannot change centre of gravity, or when a rigid Category 4 frame would be harder to fold for the car.
If the therapist wants a Sunrise folding frame with a lower published chair weight, look at the Quickie QXi or the Quickie 2. If they want Ki Mobility's 7000 series folding frame, see the Catalyst 5Vx.
- A folding Category 3 chair built to prescription
- Future Mobility's 300 lb rating and 16 to 24 inch seat range
- Someone who can self-propel, or who may be pushed
Design and build
The Galaxy Lite is a folding aluminum frame with a single elliptical cross-brace. Pull up on the seat to fold it for the car or a closet. The side frame is one piece, so the same frame covers standard and hemi seat-to-floor heights. A holed axle plate changes rear seat height. The caster journal uses insert stems and a dual-bolt cam so the front end can sit leading or trailing.
Rear wheels are 20, 22, or 24 inch, mag or spoke. Casters are 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 inch. Arms convert between flip-back and T-style. Front rigging is swing-away or elevating. Wheel locks are push-to-lock or pull-to-lock. Back canes adjust from -9 to +9 degrees in 3 degree steps.

Future Mobility Galaxy Lite specifications
These figures are for the current Galaxy Lite on Future Mobility's 2026 brochure and July 2026 order form, sold here under ADP code WMA3FM010. The specification tab holds the stored values. Do not mix them with Future Mobility's Stellato II (Type 2) or Northern Lite (WMA3FM005).
Seat width 16 to 24 inches. Seat depth 16 to 22 inches. Seat-to-floor 12.5 to 20.5 inches. Weight capacity 300 lbs (136 kg). Frame aluminum. HCPCS K0005. Future Mobility does not print a current chair weight on the 2026 brochure, so that number is not stated here.
Warranty for the original purchaser is lifetime on the frame, two years against defects in materials and workmanship, and 90 days on upholstery, under normal use.
Colour, width, and depth
Use Color, Width, and Depth with your therapist to record the prescription. Those choices do not turn the Galaxy Lite into a stocked cart item. Westin builds the chair after the ADP-registered assessment and the order form are complete.
- Color: the frame colour on the order
- Width: the seat width the therapist measures
- Depth: the seat depth the therapist measures
Future Mobility also offers 17, 19, and 24 inch widths, 17, 19, and 22 inch depths, and a longer colour list than Color shows. Ask us if the prescription falls outside the values on Color, Width, or Depth. A Category 3 chair has large rear wheels so the person can self-propel. It is not a transport chair.
ADP funding for a Category 3 wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area after the prescription is built. We bring it in, unfold it, and show you the wheel locks, the fold, and the axle and hanger setup before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Category 3 frame first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace. ADP does not pay for repairs.
Future Mobility manufacturer warranty
Future Mobility's 2026 brochure covers the original purchaser for the life of the frame, two years against defects in materials and workmanship, and 90 days on upholstery, under normal use. Repair or replacement is at Future Mobility's discretion. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What does Category 3 mean on the Galaxy Lite?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program lists the Galaxy Lite as an Adult Lightweight Performance manual wheelchair. Dealers often call that Category 3 or Type 3. That class is for a very active user who needs centre-of-gravity and seat-to-floor setup, quick-release wheels, and anti-tippers, not a basic folding chair from the shelf.
Who qualifies for ADP on this chair?
You must be an Ontario resident with a valid Ontario health card and a disability that needs a mobility aid for six months or longer. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist has to assess you before anyone orders the chair. Income is not part of the test. We cannot promise that a specific person will be approved.
How does the 75 / 25 split work?
For eligible clients, ADP pays 75 percent of the approved price and the person pays 25 percent. People on Ontario Works, ODSP, or Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities can be covered at 100 percent of that approved price. Extra items that sit outside the ADP chart are billed separately.
What is the assessment process?
Book an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist. They confirm the need, trial equipment where they can, and complete the application with Westin as the ADP-registered vendor. We submit the form. Do not buy the chair first. A chair bought before approval is not reimbursed.
How long does ADP take?
The ministry says it aims to review a mobility application within eight weeks of receiving it. That is ADP's stated aim, not a Westin delivery date. After approval we order the Future Mobility frame to the prescription and book a setup date.
Can I try a Galaxy Lite before the order?
Westin keeps assessment and trial equipment for therapists to use. Call (905) 451-7743 or come into a Brampton or Toronto store and we will see what is on the floor. A trial chair may not be the same colour or size as the chair that is later built for you.
How should the seat width fit?
The therapist measures seated hip width and leaves a little room on each side. Future Mobility lists 16 to 24 inches. Use Width for the sizes shown there, and ask us if the prescription is 17, 19, or 24 inches.
What is the weight capacity?
Future Mobility's current brochure and July 2026 order form print 300 lbs (136 kg). Stay at or under that rating.
Will this chair fold into a car trunk?
The frame folds. Future Mobility does not print a current folded size or chair weight on the 2026 brochure. Come into a store if you want to try the fold on your vehicle. The chair is not a car seat unless a transit kit is on the order and the vehicle is set up for it.
What is the warranty?
Lifetime on the frame, two years on defects in materials and workmanship, and 90 days on upholstery, for the original purchaser under normal use. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
What happens if ADP declines the application?
ADP sends a letter with the reason and how to follow up, including an appeal. We will sit with you and the therapist on the next step. Other routes such as March of Dimes Canada or Veterans Affairs Canada may still help. Do not assume a declined ADP file means there is no chair.
Who pushes the Galaxy Lite?
The person in the seat can self-propel on the large rear wheels, or a caregiver can push from the canes. Engage both wheel locks before sitting or standing.
