Description

The Span F600B is Span-America's 600 lb (273 kg) bariatric full-body floor lift. Span-America is a Savaria company. Westin Healthcare quotes it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes and care rooms in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The sling is sold separately.

This is a passive boom lift with a 6-point spreader bar. Savaria writes that the F600B is for people who need the maximum level of assistance, including people who are completely dependent. It is the 600 lb full-body member of the same Span floor family as the Span F400 (400 lb, foldable) and the Span F500S (500 lb sit-to-stand). We also stock the Span F500P, the 500 lb full-body boom in this family. If you need 600 lb in a different floor lift we already list, see the Drive Gravis.

Who it is for

This lift is for a person whose own weight, plus the sling, needs a full-body floor lift inside 600 lb. Savaria says it is for people who are completely dependent on a caregiver for transfers, including people with paraplegia or quadriplegia. Span also writes that the size, maneuverability, and range make it appropriate for both bariatric and non-bariatric users inside that working load.

Savaria's current card says two or more caregivers may be required after a full assessment of mobility, weight, size, medical conditions, mental status, and ability to assist. We follow that Savaria note and will not promise a one-person transfer.

  • Home or care-room transfers between bed, chair, and commode when the person cannot take their own weight
  • Users within Savaria's 600 lb (273 kg) safe working load
  • Rooms that need a 4.7 in base to go under a low bed, and a lift that can pick up from the floor

What you get

The F600B is an electric floor lift. The caregiver opens the base with the foot pedal, attaches a compatible loop sling to the 6-point bar, and uses the hand control to raise the boom. A second set of up and down buttons sits on the control unit if the pendant is lost or damaged. The battery is quick-release. A plug-in charger is included so you can charge in place. A charging cradle is optional. A backlit LCD shows battery status, and the lift sounds when the pack is low.

Savaria lists floor extraction, overload protection that stops the lift and alerts when capacity is exceeded, manual emergency lowering, a red emergency-stop button, and foot-activated lock and unlock on the rear casters. Span's owner manual says transfers belong on a flat, dry surface, and that the lift is not meant for long use in a high-humidity room. The manual also says this lift is for transferring a person from one surface to another, not for wheeling a person from room to room while they are in the sling.

This listing is quote-only. You get the F600B lift, the 6-point spreader bar, the hand control, and the plug-in charger. A sling, extra battery, charging cradle, and digital scale are quoted separately.

Span F600B specifications

These figures are for Westin SKU F600B. The specification tab holds the stored values. Span's current product literature prints a 600 lb (273 kg) safe working load, a 46.9 in base length, 26.4 in closed external width, 39.3 in opened internal leg width, a 51.3 in mast, a 4.7 in base height, a lifting height of 21.5 in to 68.6 in with the spreader bar, a 123 lb (56 kg) net weight, and a 139 lb (63 kg) shipping weight.

The battery pack is 24 VDC 5 Ah. The lift is certified to ISO 10535 and the 60601-1 family, including the Canadian CSA mark Savaria lists, plus an SGS mark. Warranty in the Span owner manual and on the current literature is 3 years on the frame or spreader bar, 2 years on the actuator, control box, pendant, charger, scale, or casters (excluding tread), and 1 year on the battery pack.

Do not read the F400 foldable numbers, or the F500S sit-to-stand numbers, onto this lift. Those are different listings.

Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Floor patient lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?

Yes. If you only need a lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a floor lift before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub and the patient lift rentals page. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA. Ask us whether a bariatric unit is on the rental fleet for your dates.

For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice.

If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.

Which slings this lift fits

The F600B uses a 6-point spreader bar. Span's owner manual shows loop slings with 4, 6, or 8 straps seated on those hooks, and says to pull each loop before you raise the bar. This is a loop attachment on a full-body bar, not a sit-to-stand chest belt. The sling is sold separately. Stay inside 600 lb on both the lift and the sling, and never exceed the lowest rating of the two.

Shop Westin's matching sling styles: full-body slings, universal slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings. We will confirm a sling Span accepts on this bar. Sit-to-stand slings belong on the Span F500S, not on this boom.

If 400 lb is enough and you need a lift that folds, start with the Span F400. If the person can bear weight on at least one leg, start with the F500S. If 500 lb is enough on a full-body boom, ask us about the Span F500P we already stock.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Span-America manufacturer warranty

Span's F600B owner manual and current literature cover the original purchaser with 3 years on the frame or spreader bar, 2 years on the actuator, control box, pendant, charger, scale, or casters, and 1 year on the battery pack. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

Does funding cover a patient lift in Ontario?

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts. Other routes can help when the person and the assessment fit, including ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship programs. Westin Healthcare works with those programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before anyone starts paperwork.

What is the safe working load of the Span F600B?

Savaria and Span print 600 lb (273 kg). Stay inside that number for the person plus anything in the sling. If the sling is rated lower, the lower number wins.

Does a sling come with the F600B?

No. The sling is sold separately. We will match a loop sling that uses this 6-point bar and stays inside 600 lb.

Can one caregiver operate the F600B?

Savaria's current card says two or more caregivers may be required after a full assessment. We follow that note. We will not promise that one person is enough.

Can the F600B lift someone from the floor?

Yes. Savaria lists floor extraction on the current card, and Span's owner manual describes a floor-to-bed lift. We will still confirm the sling and the room layout before the first transfer.

How is the F600B different from the F400, F500P, and F500S?

The F600B is a 600 lb full-body boom that does not fold. The F400 is a 400 lb full-body boom that folds. The F500P is a 500 lb full-body boom we already stock. The F500S is a 500 lb sit-to-stand lift for a person who can bear weight on at least one leg.

What slings fit the F600B?

Loop slings on the 6-point bar, in 4-strap, 6-strap, or 8-strap patterns Span shows in the owner manual. Use a sling rated for this bar and for the person. Do not put a sit-to-stand sling on this boom.

Does it work with a low hospital bed?

Span prints a 4.7 in base height and writes that the clearance allows use with most low beds. We will still measure the bed you have before the first transfer.

Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?

Yes. Westin rents electric floor lifts. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub. Ask us whether a bariatric unit is on the fleet for your dates. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program.

How fast can a purchased F600B be delivered in the GTA?

Westin's team delivers and sets up purchased lifts across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service, not automatically to a purchased lift.

What is included with the Span F600B?

You get the F600B lift with the 6-point spreader bar, hand control, and plug-in charger. A sling is not included. The charging cradle, extra battery, and digital scale are optional. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets up across Brampton and the GTA.

What is the warranty on the F600B?

Span prints 3 years on the frame or spreader bar, 2 years on electronics and casters, and 1 year on the battery. Westin Healthcare processes the claim. Details are on our service and repairs page.
