This page is the EZ-Dish off-the-shelf seat cushion only. Span puts a memory-foam top over a high-density base. The top conforms to a round-edged pocket that sits under the ischium and the coccyx. The base is contoured so the legs and pelvis sit in a set path. Span writes it for people at high risk of pressure injuries at those bony points. If a clinician has named The Equalizer, Geo-Matt Contour, Geo-Matt Cushion, Geo-Matt Wedge, Gel-T, or Geo-Wave, ask us for that product. Those are separate Span articles that we already list.
Who this cushion is for
This cushion is for a wheelchair user who needs a wipeable, non-powered 3 inch seat with a built-in ischial pocket, and whose weight is within Span's 250 lb rating. Span writes it for pain relief, prevention of breakdown, and help with sitting posture. It is an off-the-shelf size, not a custom-fitted dish.
Families and therapists usually call us when the person already uses a wheelchair and the seating plan asks for EZ-Dish, not a mattress pad and not a gel-only cushion. If the care team has asked for an in-bed Span surface, we already stock PressureGuard Custom Care and Span-Care mattresses and will quote those separately.

Construction and how it works
The EZ-Dish is a non-powered seat cushion. The top is viscoelastic memory foam for softness and conformance. Under that, a high-density base holds an anatomically shaped, round-edged pocket. Span writes that the pocket reduces pressure on the ischials and the coccyx. The same base is contoured so the femurs and pelvis sit in a healthier, more upright path.
The cover zips on. The top is anti-slip and the bottom is non-skid. The surface is wipe-clean and fluid-repellent, and a mark on the cover shows which edge is the bottom rear. The bottom of the cover has a sewn sleeve for Span's molded Sling-Fill base. That insert is sold separately. Span writes that it fills the hammock in a fabric sling and gives the cushion a flat, rigid foundation.

Span lists a 3 inch height on every size and a 250 lb weight limit on every size. There is no bariatric EZ-Dish width. The cushion is non-powered. Span lists an 18-month warranty.

This is a small carton. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods can apply when it ships without a bed or a lift. If it travels with a hospital bed, the bed is oversized and White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Which wheelchairs this cushion fits
Span publishes the EZ-Dish in wheelchair seat widths of 16, 18, and 20 inches. Seat depths on the codes are 16 inches (EZ1616-96-1 and EZ1816-96-1) or 18 inches (EZ1818-96-1 and EZ2018-96-1). Choose the width that matches the seat sling or seat pan. Span does not name a wheelchair brand or model. Tell us the measured seat width and depth and we will lock the matching code.
Place the cushion so the bottom-rear mark faces the back of the chair. The cover has a sewn sleeve for Span's molded Sling-Fill base. The insert is one size and is not included with the cushion. Ask us to add Sling-Fill (2SFB) to the quote when the chair has a hammocked sling seat.

How is EZ-Dish different from The Equalizer?
EZ-Dish is 3 inches high, all foam, with a pocket in the base and an 18-month warranty. The Equalizer is 3.5 inches high, adds three gel-like polymer zones, and carries a 2-year warranty plus 500 lb bariatric sizes. They do not share part numbers. Ask us for The Equalizer if the seating plan named that product.
How is EZ-Dish different from Geo-Matt Contour?
Both are 3 inch, 250 lb Span seats in the same four footprints. EZ-Dish uses a memory-foam top and a dish-shaped pocket. The Geo-Matt Contour uses a Geo-Matt segmented top over a contoured base with leg channels and pelvic bucketing. Ask us for the one the seating plan named.
Does this cushion need a pump?
No. The EZ-Dish is non-powered foam. There is no pump to plug in.
What is the weight rating?
Span lists 250 lb on every EZ-Dish size. There is no wider bariatric EZ-Dish. Tell us the person's weight when you order. For a higher rating, ask us about The Equalizer or the Geo-Matt PRT.
What sizes can I get?
Four sizes, all 3 inches high: 16 by 16, 18 by 16, 18 by 18, and 20 by 18 inches. The default on this page is 18 by 16 inches (EZ1816-96-1).
Which wheelchair does it fit?

What is the pocket for?

Can I add a Sling-Fill base?
Yes. The anti-slip cover has a sewn sleeve for Span's molded Sling-Fill insert (2SFB). Span sells the insert separately. Ask us to add it when the wheelchair seat is a fabric sling that hammocks.
How do I place and clean it?
Put the bottom-rear mark toward the back of the chair. Wipe the cover with the disinfectant your clinician allows. The cover is zippered, wipe-clean, and fluid-repellent.
What is the warranty?
Span lists an 18-month warranty on the EZ-Dish. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work on our service and repairs page.
