Description
The EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp is a stand-alone aluminum threshold ramp with independently adjustable legs and swivel feet. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Official SKUs are TAER 12, TAER 24, and TAER 36. It is not the rubber Angled Entry Mat and not the one-piece Angled Entry Plate.
EZ-ACCESS rates every size at 700 lb (318 kg). The deck is 36-1/4 in (92 cm) wide. With the feet installed, usable height runs from 1-15/16 in on the 12 in ramp to 5-7/8 in on the 36 in ramp. Use Select Ramp for 12-inch, 24-inch, or 36-inch.
Who this ramp is for
This threshold ramp is for a doorway that swings in or out, an uneven sill, or a single-step rise that does not land cleanly in a TMER kit window. Families usually call us when a 3-1/2 in threshold sits between Modular Entry Ramp sizes, or when one side of the door is higher than the other.
If the rise is a straight sill inside a TMER window, start with the Transitions Modular Entry Ramp. For a one-piece rubber lip on a low rise, see the Rubber Angled Entry Mat. For a formed plate without legs, see the Angled Entry Plate. For a porch, see the Gateway 3G portable ramp.
- Uneven thresholds and doors that swing across the ramp
- Rises from about 1-15/16 in to 5-7/8 in, depending on the size and feet
- A self-supporting aluminum deck you can pick up and move
Heights and feet
The legs adjust independently and the feet swivel, so the ramp can sit on a slope or a warped sill. EZ-ACCESS says the legs give about 2 in of vertical travel. Attach the two feet and set the height. The bottom transition plate moves so the ramp meets the floor smoothly.
- TAER 12 with 1 in feet: 1-15/16 in to 2-3/4 in
- TAER 24 with 1.5 in feet: 2-1/8 in to 3-3/8 in
- TAER 24 with 2.5 in feet: 3-3/16 in to 4-3/8 in
- TAER 36 with 2.5 in feet: 3-5/8 in to 5-7/8 in
A 3-1/2 in threshold, which sits between TMER 3 and TMER 4, falls inside the TAER 24 tall-foot window. Measure before you order. Stay inside the incline limit in the mobility device owner's guide.
Surface and build
The Transitions Angled Entry Ramp is high-strength aluminum with an extruded slip-resistant surface. It will not rust or corrode. Holes are pre-drilled for anchoring. Hardware is included for a wood surface. The 12 in ramp is 11-7/8 in long and about 5.2 lb (2.4 kg). The 24 in ramp is 23-7/8 in long and 10.4 lb (4.7 kg). The 36 in ramp is 35-7/8 in long and 15.2 lb (6.9 kg).
EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp specifications
These figures are from the current EZ-ACCESS TAER card. The 2017 spec sheet uses the same models. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the live card fractions when a range fights the old decimal table.
Capacity 700 lb (318 kg) on every size. Overall width 36-1/4 in (92 cm). Ramp-only heights: TAER 12 1-3/8 in, TAER 24 1-11/16 in, TAER 36 3-5/16 in. Lifetime warranty on the current card. Made for wheelchairs and scooters within that rating and within the device maker's own incline limit.
Choosing a size
Use Select Ramp for 12-inch ramp (EZ-TAER 12), 24-inch ramp (EZ-TAER 24), or 36-inch ramp (EZ-TAER 36). Pick the size whose usable height window contains your measured rise. TAER 24 ships with two foot lengths so you can cover the lower or the higher half of its range.
Suitcase, trifold, threshold, or modular
A suitcase or trifold ramp is for a step or a vehicle. See the Suitcase Advantage Series and the Trifold Advantage Series. The Modular Entry Ramp is the hooked-section threshold kit. This Angled Entry Ramp is the adjustable-leg threshold. A full porch system is the QRamp QR4.0.
Funding help for a wheelchair ramp in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund ramps, so plan around other routes. The March of Dimes Canada Home and Vehicle Modification Program is the main Ontario funding source for home accessibility changes like ramps, and Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), the Ontario Renovates program in some municipalities, extended health plans, and community organizations can also help. A ramp may also qualify as a home accessibility or medical expense on a Canadian tax return in some situations. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Frequently asked questions
What Length Of Ramp Do I Need?
For the EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp, measure the rise and pick TAER 12, TAER 24, or TAER 36 so the usable height window contains that number. The 12 in ramp covers about 1-15/16 to 2-3/4 in. The 24 in ramp covers about 2-1/8 to 4-3/8 in depending on the feet. The 36 in ramp covers about 3-5/8 to 5-7/8 in.
How Steep Can A Wheelchair Ramp Be?
The EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp uses the slope that comes with each length and foot setting. Stay inside the published height window and inside the incline limit in the wheelchair or scooter owner's guide. For longer ramps, EZ-ACCESS publishes 1:6, 1:8, 1:10, and 1:12 calculator ratios. Confirm the ratio with local code.
Do I Need A Permit For A Wheelchair Ramp In Ontario?
A permit for a wheelchair ramp in Ontario is a municipal question. A small threshold ramp is often treated differently from an outdoor structure. Check with your local building department, and call (905) 451-7743 if you want us to talk through what you measured.
Is This The Angled Entry Mat Or The Plate?
No. The EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp is the aluminum ramp with adjustable legs, SKUs TAER 12, TAER 24, and TAER 36. The Angled Entry Mat is recycled rubber. The Angled Entry Plate is a one-piece formed plate without legs.
Does The Plate At The Bottom Of The Ramp Move?
Yes. The EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp has an adjustable bottom transition plate so the ramp meets the floor smoothly.
Does This Ramp Require Assembly?
Yes. On the EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp you attach the two adjustable feet and set them to the height you measured.
Do The Feet Move?
Yes. The feet on the EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp swivel so the ramp can sit on an uneven surface, and the legs adjust independently.
How Do You Keep The Ramp From Moving?
The EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp has pre-drilled holes in the bottom transition plate. Hardware is provided for a wood surface. Use those holes, or ask us about fasteners for another surface.
What Is The Weight Capacity?
The EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp is rated at 700 lb (318 kg) on TAER 12, TAER 24, and TAER 36. Stay at or under that rating, and stay inside the rating of the device that will use the ramp.
What Warranty Does It Carry?
The EZ-Access Transitions Angled Entry Ramp carries the EZ-ACCESS lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Westin Healthcare handles the claim with you.
