Description

EZee Life junior crutches, item CH2029, are EZee Life's junior underarm pair. Westin Healthcare sells the pair and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. EZee Life prints a 300 lb (136 kg) rating, a user height of 4 ft to 4 ft 10 in, and a crutch height of 31 to 37 inches.

This is CH2029. It is not CH2030 Adult and not CH2050 Tall. EZee Life ships the pair fully assembled, with push-button overall height and wing-nut hand grips. The junior window is 4 ft to 4 ft 10 in. That is not AMG's 4 ft 6 in to 5 ft 2 in youth slot.

Who these crutches are for

EZee Life writes that the adjustable aluminum line fits older children through tall adults, and that CH2029 is the junior size. The printed user range is 4 ft to 4 ft 10 in (122 to 147 cm). Families here usually call when a shorter person needs a pair and wants the height set in Brampton or the GTA.

EZee Life does not tell a reader to pick junior crutches over a youth AMG pair or a forearm cuff. Westin does not give medical advice. If the person is taller than 4 ft 10 in, see the AMG Aluminum Crutches Youth or the Medline Basic Adult Aluminum Crutches.

  • A junior underarm pair with EZee Life's 300 lb (136 kg) rating
  • User height 4 ft to 4 ft 10 in; crutch height 31 to 37 inches (79 to 94 cm)
  • Push-button overall height and wing-nut hand grips, shipped assembled

Fit and height

EZee Life prints a user height of 4 ft to 4 ft 10 in and a crutch height of 31 to 37 inches (79 to 94 cm) for CH2029. Overall height is push-button. Hand grips move on a wing nut so the handle can be set independently.

EZee Life's own adjustment guide: when the overall height is right, the top of the crutches sits about 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 cm) below the armpit, standing in everyday shoes with a normal posture. The tops should not touch the armpits. Weight belongs on the hands. Come into a Brampton or Toronto store and we will set both sticks that way.

Frame, pads, and tips

The frame is aluminum with a double-extruded center tube. EZee Life fits a durable underarm pad, a hand grip, and jumbo non-skid vinyl contoured tips. The pair ships fully assembled.

Drive RTL10453, RTL10446, and 10439-8 name Drive 10400-series frames. They do not name CH2029. We will not claim those Drive parts as an EZee Life fit.

Weight and portability

EZee Life prints a product weight of 3.74 lb (1.70 kg) and a box weight of 4.96 lb. The carton is 8.7 by 3.3 by 53.3 inches. That is a one-person lift for most households. We still bring it in and set the heights if you want setup in Brampton or the GTA.

Junior, youth, or adult underarm crutches

EZee Life junior CH2029 is 4 ft to 4 ft 10 in. AMG youth 720-791 is 4 ft 6 in to 5 ft 2 in. Medline Basic adult is 5 ft 1 in to 5 ft 9 in. Hugo Comfort Max 721-780 is 5 ft 10 in to 6 ft 6 in. EZee Life also makes CH2030 adult and CH2050 tall; Westin stages the junior pair.

If you want a forearm cuff instead of an underarm pad, see the Cardinal Health Push-Button Forearm Crutches.

Funding help for a cane or crutches in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund standard canes or crutches, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
