How it lifts

The caregiver opens the powered legs, seats a Beka clip comfort sling on the 4-point EP bar, and raises the boom from the hand control. EPS tilts the hanger so the person can go from sitting to lying (and back) without the caregiver forcing the bar. ARM limits unwanted swing. The bar has 360 degrees of free rotation and lowers to the floor for a floor pickup. Dual controls ship on the NA codes in this listing.

Beka prints an emergency stop, manual emergency lowering on the actuator, and electrical emergency lowering on the control box. Charge the removable 24 V battery about 4 hours before first use. On the Canadian control, charge only with the emergency stop released. Do not use the lift while it is charging. Beka's Comfort brochure says ARM allows a single caregiver transfer. That is Beka's ARM line, not a promise that every transfer is a one-person job. We will still assess the person and the room with you.

Which slings this lift fits

Comfort EP uses a 4-point EP hanger bar for clip comfort slings only. Beka's IFU marks the Comfort attachment points "only for slings with clips" and warns against loop slings. That is the opposite of the CARLO Classic loop bar. The installed working load is the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling.

Beka names clip transfer slings, clip bathing slings (nylon mesh), clip toilet slings, and clip soft slings, in sizes with a headrest and padded leg support. We quote a Beka clip comfort sling with this lift. Sit-to-stand thorax slings belong on a sit-to-stand lift such as the Nora, not on this boom.

Westin's everyday sling shop is mostly loop styles: full-body slings, universal slings, and toileting slings. Those loop slings are for Classic and other loop bars, not for Comfort EP. Ask us for the clip sling that matches the model and the working load. A 185 kg sling is not enough on Comfort EP 230.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a German parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Beka and Savaria do not print a year split on the current Comfort EP cards we used. Ask us for the Beka terms that ship with your serial number. Authorized Beka service keeps that warranty in force. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

How is Comfort EP different from the CARLO Classic we already sell?

Classic (live at /beka-carlo-lift/, SKU 924003218) is the loop-bar CARLO with no EPS. Comfort EP is the clip-bar CARLO with EPS and the bathing hanger. Same brand family, different attachment and a different job. If the prescription says loop slings, stay with Classic. If it says Comfort EP or clip comfort slings, use this page.

What slings fit Comfort EP?

Beka clip comfort slings on the 4-point EP bar. Transfer, bathing, toilet, and soft clip slings are the families Beka names. Loop slings belong on Classic. We will quote a clip sling that matches the 185 kg or 230 kg model you pick.

Does a sling come with the lift?

No. Beka ships the lift with the clip EP hanger bar, the hand control, dual controls, and the charging kit on the code you pick. The sling is sold separately. We will confirm the size and the working load when we book setup.
