Description
The Drive Free-Standing Trapeze 13039SV is a 1000 lb overhead handle on its own floor base. Westin lists this SKU as the free-standing trapeze with wheels. Drive's current shop title is Free-Standing Silver Vein Trapeze, item 13039SV. It does not clamp to the bed. Drive designed it to assist larger individuals with changing position in bed and with transfers from bed to chairs. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
This is not a powered patient lift. The person holds a triangle handle on a chain. The 36 inch boom swivels from 0 to 180 degrees, which the 650 lb Drive 13049SV does not do. If the person cannot pull themselves, ask about a floor lift such as the Drive bariatric patient lift.
Who it is for
This trapeze is for a larger person who can use their arms to pull and who needs help changing position in bed or moving toward a chair. Drive's published capacity is 1000 lb. Drive's current 13039SV sheet does not repeat the "assistance only, not total body weight" sentence that appears on the 13049SV and 13009TRAPBV manuals. Treat the 1000 lb figure as Drive's printed capacity and ask us if the care plan needs a full-body lift instead.
Choose this model when 650 lb is not enough, or when the boom needs to swing out of the way. If the bed has a metal headboard and the person is within 250 lb, the clamp-on Drive 13009TRAPBV trapeze bar is the smaller accessory.
- Home care or facility rooms beside a hospital-style bed
- Users within Drive's 1000 lb rating who can pull on the handle
- Rooms that need the boom to swivel away from the mattress
How it lifts
It does not lift the person with a motor or a sling. A free-standing base sits on the floor. An upright and a 36 inch boom hold a sliding chain and a triangle handle above the mattress. Drive says the overhead boom swivels from 0 to 180 degrees, and the chain slides from the edge of the headboard to the end of the boom.
Assembly is not tool-free. Drive's current sheet says it requires a drill, a rubber mallet, and a socket with wrench. Plan time for that setup. Place the base so the handle hangs where the person can reach it, then swing the boom aside when the bed needs clear space.
Drive Free-Standing Trapeze 13039SV specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU 13039SV, Drive item 13039SV (bariatric free-standing trapeze, silver vein). The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's current shop sheet prints:
- Weight capacity: 1000 lb
- Boom length: 36"
- Boom swivel: 0 to 180 degrees
- Product weight: 100 lb
- Carton shipping weight: 110 lb
- Assembly: drill, rubber mallet, socket and wrench
Drive does not print a warranty term, overall height, width, depth, or caster size on the current 13039SV sheet. Westin's storefront name includes wheels. Drive's shop title does not print the word wheels. Do not treat dealer-published room dimensions as Drive numbers.
Slings and spreader bar
This product has no spreader bar and does not use a patient-lift sling. The person holds a triangle handle on a chain. If the care plan needs a full-body transfer in a sling, this trapeze is the wrong device. Ask us about a floor lift and the matching sling style from our universal slings, full-body slings, or divided-leg slings.
