Description

The Little Wave Arc pediatric wheelchair is Ki Mobility's pediatric tilt-in-space chair. Westin Healthcare configures it to prescription for families in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. This is not an off-the-shelf cart chair. The child's ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assesses first. Then Westin writes the seat, the base, and the colours on Ki's order form.

Ki lists the Arc at 20.5 lbs (9.3 kg) on the defined 14 by 14 inch transport setup, with a 165 lb (74.8 kg) rating and 0 to 45 degrees of tilt. Seat width runs 10 to 18 inches. Seat depth runs 12 to 20 inches. Ki sells the same tilt frame on a folding base or a rigid base.

Who this kids tilt in space wheelchair is for

This chair is for a child who needs tilt in daily life, who fits Ki's 10 to 18 inch seat, and whose therapist wants a pediatric tilt rather than a daily rigid. Families usually call us when a stroller-style tilt is no longer enough, or when the therapist wants a side-fold package that still tilts to 45 degrees.

If the child self-propels and does not need tilt, start with the Little Wave Clik or the Little Wave XP. A live ADP pediatric rigid already on this site is the Ki Mobility Rogue XP.

  • Pediatric tilt wheelchair after the child's OT or PT assessment
  • 0 to 45 degrees of tilt on a folding or rigid base
  • 20.5 lbs (9.3 kg) on Ki's defined 14 by 14 transport setup

Design and build

The Arc uses an arc-shaped roller guide so the child's weight stays centred while the seat tilts. Ki says that keeps the motion smooth for the rider and for the person tilting. Hand tilt or foot tilt can be set on the left, the right, or both.

The folding-recline back folds the package smaller and can open the back for a change or a transfer. The folding base is a side fold. The rigid base is the same tilt on a non-folding frame. Rear wheels come off. Drum brakes, an attendant wheel lock, a folding stroller handle, a height-adjustable rigidizer bar, and a canopy are order-form options. Colours are chosen on the Ki order. Two-colour frames are part of Ki's standard colour offer.

How the Arc grows

Ki prints a minimum of 2 inches of seat-width growth and 3 inches of seat-depth growth on the current Arc order. Frame width is ordered in Small (10 to 12), Medium (12 to 14), Large (14 to 16), or X-Large (16 to 18) inch ranges. Depth is ordered in X-Short through Long, covering 12 to 20 inches. The Arc XP build includes a one-time growth kit. The Arc XPe is the same chair without that kit in the base. The therapist picks the build on the order. There is no storefront size list.

Little Wave Arc specifications

These figures are for the current Little Wave Arc on kimobility.com. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Transport weight 20.5 lbs (9.3 kg) on a 14 by 14 inch frame with attendant wheel locks, and with the armrests, rear wheels, and footrests off. Weight capacity 165 lbs (74.8 kg). Seat width 10 to 18 inches (25.4 to 45.7 cm). Seat depth 12 to 20 inches (30.5 to 50.8 cm). Seat height 14.5 to 19 inches (36.8 to 48.3 cm). Tubing 1 inch (2.54 cm). Tilt 0 to 45 degrees. Transit: yes, as Ki states it. Folding or rigid base on the order.

Ki's North America warranty for the original purchaser is lifetime on the frame and quick-release axles, and one year on other Ki-made parts. Expected life of the frame is five years. Wear items sit outside that term.

How this chair is configured

Seat width, seat depth, folding or rigid base, tilt control, colour, seating, transit, and whether the order is Arc XP or Arc XPe are set on Ki's form with the child's therapist. There is no single in-stock size. Westin submits the form after the assessment.

Little Wave Arc, Clik, or XP

The Arc is the pediatric tilt wheelchair canada option in this family: 0 to 45 degrees, folding or rigid base, 20.5 lb transport. The Little Wave Clik is the folding kids ultralight wheelchair for a child who self-propels and does not need tilt. The Little Wave XP is the pediatric rigid wheelchair canada daily chair at 10.8 lb transport.

Stroller-style tilt in the same ladder is the Little Wave Flip. Early intervention with x:panda seating is the Tyke. A live ADP pediatric rigid is the Rogue XP. A live ADP folding seating base is the Spark.

Funding help for a wheelchair in Ontario

This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area after the assessment, the configuration, and the ADP submission are in place. We bring it in, check the wheel locks and the tilt, and show you the fold and the growth hardware before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or school.

Ki Mobility manufacturer warranty

Ki Mobility's North America warranty for the original purchaser is lifetime on the frame and quick-release axles, and one year on other Ki-made parts. Expected life of the frame is five years. Wear items sit outside that term. The term does not transfer to a later owner. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

Does ADP Cover Pediatric Wheelchairs In Ontario?

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program covers pediatric wheelchairs for eligible clients. ADP can fund 75 percent of the approved price. The child's ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist has to assess first. We cannot promise that a given child will be approved.

What Is Tilt In Space On A Kids Wheelchair?

Tilt in space on the Little Wave Arc means the whole seat tips back as a unit, from 0 to 45 degrees, so the child's hip angle stays the same. It is not a recline-only back. The therapist decides when tilt is the right tool.

Does The Little Wave Arc Fold?

The Little Wave Arc is sold on a folding base or a rigid base. The folding base is a side fold with a folding-recline back. The rigid base does not fold; rear wheels come off. The child's therapist picks the base on the order.

How Does The Little Wave Arc Grow?

The Little Wave Arc order prints a minimum of 2 inches of width growth and 3 inches of depth growth. Width is ordered in ranges from 10 to 18 inches. Depth covers 12 to 20 inches. The Arc XP build includes a one-time growth kit. The Arc XPe does not include that kit in the base.

How Long Does ADP Take For A Kids Wheelchair?

Ontario's mobility-aids page says ADP aims to review a complete application within 8 weeks. Factory build time sits on top of that. Ask us for a current picture once the child's therapist has written the order. Do not buy first and apply later.

What Seat Width Does A Child Need?

The Little Wave Arc seat width runs 10 to 18 inches. The child's therapist measures seated hip width. We will not guess a width from a photo.

Is The Little Wave Arc Transit Approved?

Ki lists transit as yes on the Little Wave Arc. Occupied transit needs the transit kit Ki approves and the instructions that ship with the chair. Follow the vehicle and kit rules.

What Colours Can We Order?

Ki's current Arc page lists more than 20 gloss and matte frame and accent colours. Two-colour combinations are part of that offer. Hydrographics are not on the Arc colour board. The therapist picks colour on the order.

What Is The Warranty?

Ki Mobility warrants the Arc frame and quick-release axles for the life of the original purchaser, and other Ki-made parts for one year. Wear items are outside that term. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.

What Happens If ADP Declines?

Ontario sends a letter with the reason and the appeal route. Do not take delivery of a custom chair on the assumption that a decline will reverse. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will walk through the letter with you and the child's therapist.
