Description
The Drive ZooMe 3 wheel scooter is a 3-wheel recreational scooter from Drive Medical, SKU ZOOME3. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Drive's current ZooMe 3 card rates it at 24.1 km/h (15 mph), up to 32.2 km (20 miles) on three 12V x 12AH batteries, and 136 kg (300 lb). The tiller folds for a vehicle. The seat comes off so a person can sit or stand. This is a recreational scooter, not a folding travel scooter and not a 6.8 km/h sidewalk Scout.
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who wants a faster 3-wheel recreational ride on suitable paths, who can handle a 35.4 kg (78 lb) scooter with a folding tiller, and who is comfortable with pneumatic tires and a 27 inch width. Families usually call us when a 6.8 km/h travel scooter feels too slow, not when they need an airline fold.
If you need a take-apart travel scooter for shops and the car trunk, start with the Drive Scout 3-Wheel Travel Scooter. If you need a fold-in-one lithium travel scooter, see the Drive ZooMe Flex. The ZooMe 3 is not a 4-wheel folding scooter.
- Recreational class, 24.1 km/h (15 mph)
- 32.2 km (20 miles) on three 12V x 12AH batteries
- 136 kg (300 lb) rating; scooter 35.4 kg (78 lb)
Range, speed, and batteries
Drive prints a top speed of 24.1 km/h (15 mph) and a maximum range of 32.2 km (20 miles) on the spec table, with a 350W brushless hub motor. Fast and slow modes and forward/reverse are switch-selected. Real distance drops with rider weight, wind, hills, tire pressure, and battery age.
The scooter uses three 12V x 12AH batteries and Drive's 1.6A off-board smart charger. Charge after each day of use. Drive does not print a clock-time to full. These are not airline lithium packs.
Portability and transport
The ZooMe 3 tiller folds for a vehicle or for storage. The seat is a removable post-style seat. Drive lists total weight 35.4 kg (78 lb) and overall size 41" long by 27" wide by 29" high. Plan the car around that width. This is not a one-motion fold and not a five-piece Scout take-apart.
Drive does not call the ZooMe 3 an airline scooter. If it has to fly, tell the airline you are bringing a recreational scooter with three 12V x 12AH batteries and follow that carrier's mobility-aid rules.
Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter specifications
These figures are for ZOOME3 as printed on Drive's current spec sheet. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's body paragraph on the same sheet also says 17 miles; we use the spec-table 20 miles (32.2 km).

Recreational scooter or travel scooter
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter is the fast, wide recreational ride in this family: 24.1 km/h (15 mph), 27 inches wide, pneumatic front tire, folding tiller. A travel scooter from the same shop is slower and built to take apart or fold for a car. Compare the Drive Scout 3-Wheel Travel Scooter at 6.8 km/h (4.25 mph) and 20.5 inches wide, or the Drive ZooMe Flex if you want a 26.6 kg (58.6 lb) fold-in-one lithium scooter.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a recreational scooter first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This mobility scooter is oversized for small-parcel shipping. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Drive manufacturer warranty

Frequently asked questions
How fast does a mobility scooter go?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter is rated 24.1 km/h (15 mph) on Drive's current card, with fast and slow switch settings. That is recreational speed, not the 6.8 km/h (4.25 mph) Scout travel class.
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter is rated up to 32.2 km (20 miles) on Drive's spec table with three 12V x 12AH batteries. Hills, wind, low tire pressure, and an older pack shorten that figure.
Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter uses pneumatic tires and is not described by Drive as a wet-weather scooter. Keep it out of rain, standing water, snow, ice, and road salt when you can. If it gets wet, dry it fully before you ride or charge.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter is not sold as an airline lithium scooter. Tell the airline you are bringing a recreational scooter with three 12V x 12AH batteries and follow that carrier's mobility-aid rules.
What is the weight capacity of a mobility scooter?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter is rated 136 kg (300 lb), rider plus what you carry. Stay at or under that rating.
How much does a mobility scooter weigh?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter weighs 35.4 kg (78 lb) on Drive's current card. The tiller folds; the whole scooter is still 27 inches wide.
How do I charge a mobility scooter?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter charges on Drive's 1.6A off-board smart charger and three 12V x 12AH batteries. Charge after you finish for the day. Drive does not print a minutes-to-full figure.
What is the turning radius of a travel scooter?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter has a 22 inch turning radius on Drive's card. It is still 27 inches wide, so doorways and cars need that width, not only the turn number.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can fund a power scooter when an ADP-registered therapist assesses a long-term need and the scooter is an approved device. The ZooMe 3 is a recreational model. Westin Healthcare walks families through the funding page path. We cannot promise that a specific person or this scooter will be approved.
Can a mobility scooter fit in a car trunk?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter has a folding tiller and a removable seat. It is 27 inches wide and 35.4 kg (78 lb). Measure the vehicle before you rely on one car. It does not fold into a suitcase shape.
3 wheel vs 4 wheel scooter?
The Drive ZooMe 3-Wheel Recreational Scooter is a three-wheel recreational ride with a 22 inch turn and a 16 inch front tire. A 4-wheel travel scooter in this family, such as the Drive ZooMe Flex, is slower, narrower, and built to fold. They are not the same class.
How long does a mobility scooter battery last?
Drive covers ZOOME3 batteries for 12 months on the current card. How many seasons a pack works depends on charge habits, storage, and use. Charge after each day of use.
