Description
The Rotec VersaTech 1100 ULB is Rotec International's ultra-low bariatric hospital bed, sold as model V1100 ULB / SKU V11ULB-NA. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for long-term care, hospitals, and other medical settings in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The patient hand control, the siderail controls, and the nurse control in the footboard move the back section, the thigh and foot sections, the height of the bed, Auto-Contour, cardiac chair, and one-touch Trendelenburg.
Rotec's current owner manual lists a 1000 lb patient weight capacity and an 1100 lb safe working load for the person, the mattress, the rails, and anything else on the bed. The sleep deck expands to take a 36, 39, 42, or 48 inch mattress and stops at 80, 84, or 88 inches long. The product sheet prints an 8 inch low height. The current owner manual prints 8 1/2 inches low to 32 inches working height.
Who this bed is for
This bed is for a care team that needs an institutional ultra-low frame for fall-prevention work and a bariatric deck on the same product. Rotec wrote the owner manual for hospitals and other medical facilities that keep a person under clinical watch. Families usually call us when a therapist or facility has already named this grade of bed, when a standard homecare frame does not go low enough, or when the person needs more width and more capacity than a 36 inch, 450 lb package.
If you need an ultra-low sleep deck and do not need this capacity, see the Joerns WeCare super low bed. If an expandable long-term care bariatric bed at a higher low-height is enough, see the Drive Prime Plus P750. If a fixed 48 inch homecare bariatric bed is enough, see the Drive 15302LW 48-inch bariatric bed.
- Long-term care or hospital rooms that want an ultra-low entry height and a 32 inch working height on one frame
- Fall-prevention programs where the care plan keeps the deck near the floor when the person is unsupervised
- Anyone who needs electric head, thigh, height, Auto-Contour, cardiac chair, and Trendelenburg, at a 1000 lb patient / 1100 lb total capacity, with a deck that grows to 48 inches
What you get
The Rotec VersaTech 1100 ULB is a full-electric ultra-low bariatric bed. The nurse control in the footboard adds lock-outs, one-touch Trendelenburg, and electric CPR. Two mechanical CPR handles sit under the platform.
This listing is Rotec SKU V11ULB-NA, the North American VersaTech 1100 ULB. It is not the ULB+ / VersaDrive drive-assist sibling. A mattress is sold separately. Ask us which surface to put on the deck before we book delivery.

Accessories on this page
This listing is the VersaTech 1100 ULB bed. The mattress is sold separately. The Accessories selector on this page uses these names:
Accessories
These are optional add-ons. They are not in the base carton unless you select them:
- Bar and Trapeze
- Additional Remote Control
- Transport Trolley
Bar and Trapeze is Rotec's trapeze bar for the receptacle already on the frame. Additional Remote Control is a second hand control. Transport Trolley is Rotec's storage and transport cart, used to stand the bed on its side. Rotec also publishes an IV pole, a retractable IV pole, an oxygen-cylinder holder, siderail protectors, an auxiliary foot-end outlet, and the VersaDrive motorized assist. Those are not on this selector. If you need one of them, call (905) 451-7743 and we will quote the Rotec part.
Options
Live orders still offer a second selector named Options, with None or Scale Integrated in the Footboard with 2-Zone Bed Exit Detection. Rotec's current sheet and owner manual name that feature as an integrated scale with three-zone bed-exit. Ask us which configuration is on the bed we will ship.
Mattress
Size the mattress to the width and length you will run: 36, 39, 42, or 48 inches wide, and 80, 84, or 88 inches long. Rotec's owner manual prints a recommended thickness of 5 to 6 inches. The current product sheet does not list a 54 inch mattress for this model. If you are not sure which surface you need, call (905) 451-7743. Your therapist can tell us if the person needs a foam surface or an alternating-pressure system.
Funding help for a hospital bed in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. Depending on the person, other programs may help, including ODSP, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, hardship funding programs, and community support programs.
Westin Healthcare works with these funding programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page and we will check which programs fit your situation before any paperwork starts. The funding page lists the programs we work with.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this bed across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a bed first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased beds are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital beds are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the bed is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the bed needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Rotec manufacturer warranty
Rotec's warranty for the original purchaser of the VersaTech 1100 ULB, as printed in the current owner manual, is 10 years on the frame, 2 years on motors and electronic components, and 1 year on accessories and manufacturing defects. Coverage starts on the purchase date. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Does OHIP cover hospital beds?
No. Hospital beds in Ontario are not covered by OHIP. Depending on the person, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, or a community support program may still help. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check which path fits before anyone starts paperwork.
Does ADP cover hospital beds in Ontario?
No. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. The funding page lists the programs Westin Healthcare works with, including March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, and community support programs.
What is the difference between a full-electric and a semi-electric hospital bed?
The VersaTech 1100 ULB is full electric, so the controls adjust the head, the thigh and foot sections, and the height of the bed. A semi-electric bed usually moves the head and foot with a motor and leaves height to a crank. This frame has no everyday crank.
What mattress fits the Rotec VersaTech 1100 ULB?
Size the mattress to the deck you will run: 36, 39, 42, or 48 inches wide, and 80, 84, or 88 inches long. Rotec's owner manual prints a recommended thickness of 5 to 6 inches. Ask your therapist before you pick an alternating-pressure surface.
Can I rent a hospital bed before buying?
Yes, for a standard full-electric package. Westin Healthcare rents hospital beds with side rails and a therapeutic mattress. See current packages and rates on the hospital bed rentals page. This VersaTech 1100 ULB is an institutional purchase on a scheduled delivery. Ask us if a trial or rental of this specific frame is available before you buy.
How fast can a hospital bed be delivered in the GTA?
Westin's team delivers and sets up purchased beds across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the hospital bed rental service, not automatically to a purchased bed.
What is included with this Rotec VersaTech 1100 ULB?
You get the V11ULB-NA full-electric frame, two pairs of half-length composite siderails, the composite headboard and footboard, the patient remote, siderail controls, the nurse footboard control, 5 inch casters, the central brake, and the backup battery. The mattress is separate. Bar and Trapeze, Additional Remote Control, and Transport Trolley are optional Accessories on this page.
What is the weight capacity of the VersaTech 1100 ULB?
Rotec's current owner manual lists a patient weight capacity of 1000 lbs and a safe working load of 1100 lbs. The total includes the person, the mattress, the rails, and anything else on the bed. The 1100 figure on the product sheet is that total load, not the person-only limit.
What happens if the power goes out?
Rotec includes a backup battery for temporary autonomy when the bed is unplugged. The bed is not meant to run on battery as its everyday power source. Plug it back into a wall outlet when power returns so the battery can recharge.
What is the warranty on the VersaTech 1100 ULB?
For the original purchaser, Rotec's current owner manual covers the frame for 10 years, motors and electronic components for 2 years, and accessories and manufacturing defects for 1 year. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work on our service and repairs page.
How low does this bed go, and does it prevent falls?
Rotec's product sheet prints 8 inches. The current owner manual prints 8 1/2 inches to 32 inches. The ultra-low setting is there so the deck can sit close to the floor when the person is unsupervised. Rails and a low deck reduce fall distance. They are not a restraint and they do not remove the need for a care plan.
How do the width and length change?
Width is a press-button expansion that takes a 36, 39, 42, or 48 inch mattress. Length extends without tools through 80, 84, and 88 inches. Rotec's current sheet for this model stops at 48 inches wide. If a care plan calls for a 54 inch homecare bariatric deck, ask us about a different frame instead of stretching this one.
