Description
The UPS TLV1226 is a 12V 2.6Ah (20-hour) AGM sealed lead-acid cell with F1 .187 in Faston terminals. Westin Healthcare sells it as the Handicare 1100 battery pair we fit in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area. A 24V Handicare 1100 uses two of these small cells in series.
Which stairlift this pair is for
Westin and UPS Battery Center document this 12V 2.6Ah F1 size as the Handicare 1100 straight stairlift replacement pair. Handicare and Savaria consumer pages print 24 VDC battery power on the 1100 family. They do not print 2.6Ah or TLV1226. Confirm the cells in the chair before you order.
- Use this pair when the old cells are 12V 2.6Ah F1, about 2.76 x 1.89 x 3.86 in (70 x 48 x 98 mm)
- Do not use this pair in a K2, Freecurve, Flow X, or Homeglide that already has the larger 5.94 x 2.56 in 7-9Ah cells
- The Interstate SLA1022 12V 2.9Ah is a different, larger case
Call (905) 451-7743 with the chair serial if the old cells are missing.
Terminals, chemistry, and size
UPS Battery Center prints TLV1226 as F1 0.187 in, 70 x 48 x 98 mm (2.76 x 1.89 x 3.86 in), total height 104 mm / 4.09 in, 1.87 lb (0.85 kg), 12V, 2.6Ah at 20 hours to 10.5V, AGM. The current Westin page sells the Handicare 1100 set as two of those cells. UPS's own card says the Handicare name is identification only and the cells are not an OEM Handicare part.
SLA, AGM, gel, and the size ladder
TLV1226 is a small AGM cell, not gel and not a travel-scooter 12Ah pack. The next case up in this shop is the 5.94 x 2.56 in stairlift family: SLA1075 8Ah F1, FAS1075 7Ah F1, HSL1079 9Ah F2. Those will not fit the 1100 tray.
UPS TLV1226 / Handicare 1100 specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU TLV1226. The specification tab should name 12V, 2.6Ah at the 20-hour rate, F1, 2.76 x 1.89 x 3.86 in (70 x 48 x 98 mm), total height 4.09 in (104 mm), 1.87 lb (0.85 kg) per cell, AGM. The Handicare 1100 set is two cells. Interstate SLA1022 is not a substitute.

Frequently asked questions
Which stairlift takes these Handicare 1100 batteries?
Westin sells the UPS TLV1226 12V 2.6Ah F1 pair for the Handicare 1100 straight stairlift we service. Confirm the old cells are that small F1 size. It is not the 7-9Ah pair used in many K2, Freecurve, and Flow X chairs.
Do I need two batteries?
Yes. The Handicare 1100 is a 24V chair and uses two 12V 2.6Ah cells in series. Replace both at the same time.
What is the difference between F1 and F2 terminals?
F1 is .187 in. F2 is .250 in. The TLV1226 is F1. An F2 tab will not seat in the 1100 connector.
Is this the same as the Interstate SLA1022?
No. SLA1022 is 12V 2.9Ah in a 3.11 x 2.20 x 3.90 in case. TLV1226 is 12V 2.6Ah in a 2.76 x 1.89 x 3.86 in case. They do not swap.
How long do Handicare 1100 batteries last?
Handicare does not print a year life on the consumer 1100 page. Replace both cells when the chair slows or the beeps start after a night on charge.
Can I replace Handicare 1100 batteries myself?
Only if you can reach the tray without forcing covers and you follow the chair manual. Westin can change the pair on a visit. Do not short the F1 tabs.
Are these official Handicare parts?
UPS Battery Center sells TLV1226 as a compatible 12V 2.6Ah F1 pair and says the Handicare name is for identification. Westin fits this size on the 1100 chairs we service. Confirm on the chair if a previous technician used a different cell.
