Description

The Switch-It Vigo is a wireless proportional head control. The headset sits on the person, not on the chair, so the drive stays with the head during a transfer or a seating change. This control is configured with the power wheelchair through the seating clinic and the ADP process. Westin Healthcare quotes it on a Quickie or Zippie order for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

Now Technologies LTD makes the Vigo. Sunrise sells it. The headset is 37 grams, runs up to 14 hours, and charges by USB. It also works as a wireless head mouse on a computer, phone, or tablet, and as a Bluetooth headset for calls.

What this control does

Subtle head tilts drive the power wheelchair. Each axis can be scaled in the desktop or mobile app. The same headset can run lift, tilt, and recline without reaching a joystick. A headrest sensor, Cubo display, Link interface, Bluetooth dongle, and charge cable ship in the box. A 3.5 mm jack takes an external switch. Electronics Sunrise names are PG OMNI2, OMNI, and the Input/Output Module.

Sunrise also prints emergency stop, algorithms that watch for unusual inputs, and an unobstructed face so a conversation is still a conversation. It is an option for people who would otherwise use a head array, sip-and-puff, or chin control.

Who it suits

The Vigo suits a person who can move the head a little, cannot stay inside a chair-mounted array, and wants the control to travel with the head. If the person does well inside pads on the chair, see the Dual Pro or the Switched Head Arrays. A chin stick is still the MicroGuide or VersaGuide on a boom.

Vigo or a chair-mounted array

The Vigo rides on the head and stays lined up when the seat moves. The Dual Pro and the switched arrays stay on the chair. Pair the Vigo with a live Q700 M or Q300 M Mini.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers this control with the power wheelchair it is configured on, across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, after the seating clinic has set the order. We bring the chair in, pair the headset, and show you drive and seating before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a control on a floor chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
