Description
The Switch-It Cool Cube is a central hub that takes many kinds of switches and turns them into drive or seating commands. Pro Spot pads add analog speed: first contact starts around 40 percent of programmed speed, then pressure takes it to 100 percent. This control is configured with the power wheelchair through the seating clinic and the ADP process. Westin Healthcare quotes it on a Quickie or Zippie order for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Order the hub alone, or as a four or five Pro Spot system (models CCB, CCB-4PS, CCB-5PS, plus ZTS variants). The hub is 3.5 by 3.12 by 1.06 inches. Each Pro Spot is 2.10 inches across and 0.50 inch high. Activating force is 150 to 300 g.
What this control does
Plug in proximity or mechanical switches. The hub senses the type. Pro Spot pads can sit at the head, leg, tray, or hand. Each port can play a different tone (off, soft, or loud) so the person hears which pad fired. A dedicated mode port takes an egg, MicroLite, Piko, or a powered sensor.
Electronics are R-Net with an Omni display, or Q-Logic with an Enhanced Display. Not Invacare. Seating programs DS-S1 to DS-S4 need a dedicated seat-function box with mono plugs from the chair maker.
Who it suits
The Cool Cube suits a person who drives or changes seating with switches, and who may want analog speed instead of full-on / full-off. If the need is only a handful of buttons, see Buttons and Switches. If seating is the only target and the chair is SEDEO, see the CTRL Plus 5. Head-only drivers still start at the Dual Pro or a switched array.
