Description
The Interstate SLA1022 battery is a 12V 2.9Ah (20-hour) AGM sealed lead-acid cell with F1 .187 in Faston terminals. Interstate lists it in the General Purpose SLA family. Westin Healthcare sells the single loose cell in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area. It is not a 24V patient-lift pack.
Who this battery is for
The Interstate SLA1022 is a small 12V cell, 3.11 x 2.20 x 3.90 in (79 x 56 x 99 mm) with F1 tabs. Drive, Joerns Hoyer, Invacare, Savaria, and Beka print 24V sealed packs (often 2.9Ah as a pack rating) on the lifts Westin sells. Those packs are Linak or Invacare assemblies. None of those makers print SLA1022 as a drop-in part.
- Use this cell when the old battery is a loose 12V 2.9Ah F1 in this case size
- Do not order this cell as the official battery for a Drive 13240, Drive 13244, Hoyer Advance, Invacare Reliant, or Beka Carlo
- The Handicare 1100 pair is a smaller 2.6Ah case
If you have a patient lift, bring the pack or a photo to the shop. Westin will tell you whether you need a factory 24V pack or a documented rebuild. Call (905) 451-7743 rather than guessing from a lift name.
Terminals, chemistry, and size
Interstate's General Purpose table prints SLA1022 as 12V 2.9Ah, 3.11 in long, 2.20 in wide, 3.90 in high, 4.21 in including the terminal, F1. Chemistry is lead acid AGM, VRLA, maintenance-free. Sibling SLA0077 is the same envelope with a slightly shorter terminal height. A 24V lift pack that opens to two 12V cells is a technician job, not a maker-documented SLA1022 fit.
SLA, AGM, gel, and the size ladder
SLA1022 is AGM, not gel. It is not a travel-scooter 12Ah cell and not a group 22NF wheelchair pack. The nearby small cell in this shop is the 2.6Ah TLV1226. Larger stairlift cells start at 7Ah in the 5.94 x 2.56 in case.
Interstate SLA1022 specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU SLA1022. The specification tab should follow Interstate: 12V, 2.9Ah at the 20-hour rate, 3.11 x 2.20 x 3.90 in (79 x 56 x 99 mm), height with terminal 4.21 in, F1 .187 in Faston, lead acid AGM. The current listing also prints 2.62 lb (1.19 kg). That weight is not on Interstate's family table, so the tab should not treat it as a maker figure until a carton is weighed.

Frequently asked questions
Which patient lifts use a 12V 2.9Ah battery?
Drive, Hoyer, Invacare, Savaria, and Beka print 24V packs, sometimes rated 2.9Ah as a pack, on the lifts Westin sells. They do not print the Interstate SLA1022 as a replacement. Bring the pack or a photo. Do not order this loose cell from a lift name alone.
Is this the official Hoyer Advance battery?
No. Joerns documents a 24V Linak pack (common number 0Y0067) for the Advance and the other Professional lifts. That is a sealed 24V assembly, not a single 12V SLA1022.
Is this the official Invacare Reliant battery?
No. Invacare documents a 24V rechargeable pack for Reliant electric lifts. That pack is not SLA1022.
Is this the official Drive 13240 battery?
No. Drive's 13240 shop card names a Linak motor and a battery that charges on the lift. Drive does not print 12V 2.9Ah or SLA1022.
What is the difference between F1 and F2 terminals?
F1 is .187 in. F2 is .250 in. The Interstate SLA1022 is F1.
Is SLA1022 the same as the Handicare 1100 cell?
No. SLA1022 is 12V 2.9Ah in a 3.11 x 2.20 x 3.90 in case. The 1100 pair is 12V 2.6Ah in a 2.76 x 1.89 x 3.86 in case.
Can I replace a lift battery myself?
Swap a loose 12V F1 cell only when the device manual shows that cell. Do not open a 24V lift pack unless a technician has confirmed it. Westin can inspect the pack on a visit.
