Serene Air Alternating Pressure Redistribution Mattress System - True Low Air Loss

The Serene Air is Wellell's true low air loss blower mattress (Wellell was Apex Medical). Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Westin SKU SERA36 is the 36-inch system. Choose Mattress Size adds 42-inch and 48-inch widths.

Wellell positions Serene Air for high to very high risk as a pressure-injury prevention surface for post-acute care. The blower is rated above 1,300 litres per minute and fills the cells in under two minutes. It is an 8-inch replacement with a 2-inch foam pocket. Wellell's brochure says that foam is not included in the mattress carton.

Who this mattress is for

This mattress is for a person who needs true low air loss, alternating pressure, and a gentle pulsation mode, including wider 42-inch and 48-inch decks. Wellell's language is prevention and microclimate, not a stage-by-stage treatment claim. The clinician who knows the person's skin still decides if this class is right.

Construction and how it works

This is an 8-inch replacement. Twenty 8-inch cells are on the 36-inch width (22 on 42, 26 on 48). A 2-inch foam pocket sits under the cells. Alternating pressure runs 5, 10, 15, or 20 minute cycles. Pulsation is Wellell's slower press. Continuous Low Pressure holds a static surface. Seat inflation is available with alternate or CLP. Max Firm is for care. A heel-relief function is on the older Apex feature list.

The blower hangs on the footboard. Visible and audible alarms cover low pressure, power failure, and tech support. A CPR valve dumps the air. A snap-fit strap and a carrying bag are on the Apex feature list. The 4-way stretch PU cover is fluid-resistant, low-shear, and vapour-permeable, with an all-around zipper.
