The Drive hinged toilet seat riser is Drive Medical's RTL12607 family for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It adds 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) and Drive rates it at 250 lb (113 kg).

This is the flip-up riser. Drive's hinge lets you move the ring out of the way when someone else uses the toilet. It is not the keep-your-seat Drive 12402 and it is not a member of the 2 / 4 / 6 inch locking ladder.

This riser is for a person who wants a 3.5 inch lift, stays at or under Drive's 250 lb rating, and shares a bathroom so the extra height needs to swing out of the way. Families here usually call when a locking 4 inch seat would stay on the bowl all day.

Height and bowl fit

Drive prints 3.5 inches for both SKUs. Regular RTL12607 is 13.5 in W by 17.5 in D by 3.5 in H (34 cm by 44 cm by 8.9 cm) and 5.07 lb (2.3 kg). Elongated RTL12608 is 14 in W by 19.25 in D by 3.5 in H (36 cm by 49 cm by 8.9 cm) and 5.62 lb (2.5 kg).

Use Choose Seat Style to pick Regular or Elongated. Drive prints two models so the ring matches the bowl. Do not put the Regular ring on an elongated bowl. Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want the bowl checked on the floor.

Design, lock, and install

The riser is heavy-duty moulded plastic. Drive prints that it is made using recycled materials. There is no lid and there are no arms. The hinge is the feature: Drive says it allows the riser to be moved out of the way when it is not in use.

Drive says the riser is lightweight, portable, and easily attaches to the toilet bowl, and that it is easy to install on most standard toilets, with a second model for elongated bowls. We show you the hinge at delivery. Drive does not print stud or wall-anchor steps for this riser.

RTL12607 is a 3.5 inch hinged ring, not a 2, 4, or 6 inch locking seat. Stay here if you want that hinge on a shared toilet. For a locking seat that stays on the bowl, use the Drive 2 inch seat with lid or the Drive 4 inch seat with lid.

If you want 3.5 inches and you want to keep the household seat and lid, with arms, use the Drive 12402 riser. That is a different Drive family.
