Description

The Drive toilet safety rail, item RTL12087, is Drive Medical's compact padded-handle rail for sitting and standing at the toilet. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and can fit it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Drive prints a 300 lb (136 kg) weight limit, a 10.5 lb (4.8 kg) unit, and a width of 16.5 to 19.5 inches between handles.

Drive's official name is Toilet Safety Rail, not Toilet Safety Frame. This is not Drive 12001-4 and not Drive RTL12000. Those are toilet-attached frames with a powder-coated bracket. RTL12087 is the lighter-looking rail with soft padded handles and tool-free assembly.

How this rail installs

Drive prints easy, tool-free assembly and installation. That is the whole official install sentence on the current sheet. Drive does not print toilet-bolt steps, clamp steps, or wall-stud steps on that card. We assemble it at delivery and show you the width setting before we leave.

This rail is not a wall grab bar. If a handle does not sit square to the toilet, stop and call us. Do not invent anchors the sheet does not name.

  • Width 16.5 to 19.5 inches between handles
  • Not 12001-4, not RTL12000, and not a wall rail

Toilet rail or toilet frame

RTL12087 is Drive's toilet safety rail: padded handles and a 16.5 to 19.5 inch width. The Drive Toilet Safety Frame (12001-4) and the Drive Toilet Safety Frame with Padded Arms (RTL12000) use a toilet bracket and a wider arm span. Floor rails such as the AquaSense Adjustable Toilet Safety Rails stand on the floor and do not share this rail's 16.5 to 19.5 inch handle width.

Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
