This is the 5 inch locking seat with metal-sleeved arms that lift off without tools. It is not the 3.5 inch Drive 12402 riser and it is not the elongated Drive 12013.

This seat is for a person who wants a 5 inch lift, stays at or under Drive's 300 lb rating, and wants arms that can come off for a transfer or stay on for a push. Families here usually call when the 2 / 4 / 6 inch ladder has no arms and they still want Drive's worm-screw lock.

Height and bowl fit

Drive prints 5 inches of added height and a seat of 17 in W by 16.5 in D by 5 in H (43 cm by 42 cm by 13 cm). Drive says the seat fits most toilets. The sheet does not split standard and elongated into two SKUs the way 12402 / 12403 and RTL12607 / RTL12608 do.

If you already know the bowl is elongated and you want a 5 inch seat built for that shape, start with the Drive 12013. If 5 inches is too tall and you want to keep the household seat and lid, use the Drive 12402. Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want the bowl checked on the floor.

Design, lock, and install

The seat is heavy-duty moulded plastic. Drive prints that it is made using recycled materials. The arms use metal sleeves and receivers. Drive says the arms can be removed or added without tools.

Drive's lock is a larger worm screw and locking plate. Drive says the seat attaches to the toilet bowl tool-free. We show you that screw and the arm lift at delivery. Drive does not print stud or wall-anchor steps for this seat, because it clamps to the bowl, not to the wall. RTL12027RA is the retail pack.

RTL12027RA is the 5 inch arm seat, not a member of the 2 / 4 / 6 inch ladder. Stay here if you want those arms and Drive's 5 inch lift. For a standard bowl with no arms, use the Drive 4 inch seat with lid or the Drive 6 inch seat.

The Drive 12013 is also 5 inches, but it is an elongated lock seat with 21 in (53 cm) arms. The Drive 12402 is a 3.5 inch riser that keeps the household seat and lid.
