Description
The Ride Designs Java Decaf Back is Ride's pediatric Java wheelchair back for Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Sunrise Medical's Canadian Ride card sends the reader to Ride Designs for the spec tables.
This is a quote-only configured back. It is not the adult Java Back and it is not a Spex Wonderseat.
Who this back is for
The Ride Java Decaf Back fits a child or smaller person whose seating therapist wants Java adjustability in 10 to 14 inch widths. A seating therapist should confirm Regular or Tall. This page does not give clinical positioning advice.
- Capacity 200 lbs (91 kg)
- Widths 10, 12, 13, 14 inches
- Regular or Tall height
Mount hardware
Ride's current Decaf page lists FlexLoc as a standard accessory and also lists fixed or quick-release. The January 2026 Canada order form prints Small hardware (FL2-PSI) for wheelchair back canes 10-11 inches wide and Medium hardware (FL2-PMI) for canes 12-14 inches wide. That is cane width, not tube diameter. We will not copy the adult Java 3/4-1 inch tube range onto Decaf until a Decaf handbook says so.

How Ride custom seating is ordered
Ride Designs sells through Ride certified providers. Westin is that dealer path in Brampton and the GTA. A seating therapist and our staff assess first. For Custom 2, Custom AccuSoft from a shape, and Custom Back from a shape, Ride captures a bead-bag shape, scans it, and sends the scan, photos, and order form through the RideWorks app. Ride keeps the scan for later growth or a remake.
Ride also prints a made-from-measurements path for some Custom Back and AccuSoft orders, and AccuSoft can be specified from a trial Java Cushion. Ride says people with significant postural asymmetry get a better outcome from a scanned shape. Java and Forward cushions, and Java and Java Decaf backs, are configured stock shapes, not scanned custom, but they are still quote-only here.
Which Ride wheelchair back
Stay with the Ride Java Decaf Back if a pediatric Java is the brief. The Ride Java Back is the adult 300 lb Java. The Ride Custom Back is scanned or measured custom.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers this wheelchair back support across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, check it against the wheelchair, and show you the cover and any hardware before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sample first. For a scheduled in-home drop-off, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased seating is delivered on a scheduled date after the assessment and quote.
If the order is going outside the GTA, ask us for a shipping quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
