Description
The RGK Elite Series is a basketball wheelchair made to the player's measurements: a 7020 aluminum court chair in Elite or Elite X. Westin Healthcare is an authorized Sunrise Medical dealer. A clinician or coach measures the player, Westin writes the RGK order, and RGK builds that frame. This is a court chair, not an everyday mobility chair, and it is not a boxed chair that ships the next day.
Sunrise Canada prints Elite at 20.3 lb (9.2 kg) and Elite X at 19.2 lb (8.7 kg), with a 275.5 lb user limit. Seat width and depth run 9.85 to 19.65 in. Camber is 16, 18, 20, or 22 degrees. Transit is no. Sunrise names it for 1 to 4.5 classification players, intermediate to professional.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a basketball player who needs a made-to-measure court frame, fits the Elite size range, and stays at or under 275.5 lb. Clubs usually call us when the player has outgrown a club chair, or when the coach wants the fixed Elite geometry instead of the adjustable AllCourt.
If the player still wants to try setups on the same chassis, see the RGK AllCourt. If the club needs one chair for several sports, see the RGK Club Sport.
- Wheelchair basketball, not everyday street use
- Elite 20.3 lb or Elite X 19.2 lb on the Canada card
- Seat, camber, and wings written on the RGK order after measurement
How RGK measures and builds the chair
Westin meets the player with the clinician or coach, then sends RGK the Elite or Elite X order. RGK's made-to-measure process takes more than 30 measurements, draws the frame in CAD, and has one technician build it. Sunrise prints 19 quality checks from measure to handover. Elite versus Elite X, camber, anti-tip, wing, strapping, and team logo are written on the order.
A floor chair, if we can show one, will not match every prescribed size. This is a quote-only court build.
Design and build
Both frames use 7020 aluminum with A10 heat treatment and the Tri-Frame chassis, which splits force across the downtube instead of only the axle. Impact areas at the backrest and anti-tip are reinforced. A heavy-duty frame is available on the Canada card. Footrest can be fixed or adjustable. Anti-tip can be single or double, fixed or removable. Front wings come in a range of designs. Airtech Sport upholstery, calf and toe straps, and optional pelvic or waist straps are on the order form.
Elite X adds a carbon fibre axle that is clamped, not welded, so toe-in and toe-out can be set after the build. Carbon fibre sideguards with CNC sidearms are an Elite X option Sunrise prints as up to 3.5 oz lighter than aluminum. Ceramic bearings and titanium fasteners are Elite X options.
RGK Elite Series specifications
These figures are for models ELA (Elite) and EXA (Elite X) on Sunrise Medical's Canadian card. The specification tab holds the stored values. Do not mix them with AllCourt numbers.

Elite or another basketball wheelchair
The Elite Series is RGK's made-to-measure basketball wheelchair. The AllCourt is the adjustable two-piece basketball chair when the player still wants to change setup. The Club Sport is the entry-level multi-sport chair for clubs and schools. Everyday RGK street chairs sit on the Octane Sub4 page and are a different device.
Funding help for a sports wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) funds mobility devices for daily mobility needs, and a dedicated sports wheelchair is generally not covered, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: Canadian Tire Jumpstart, ParaSport Ontario and provincial parasport organizations, war amps and community service clubs for eligible applicants, and extended health plans in some cases. Westin Healthcare's staff work with funding programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers this sports wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, confirm the prescribed fit, and show you the anti-tip, the straps, and the quick-release rear wheels before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather talk through the measurement first. For a scheduled delivery, call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; a purchased custom sports chair is delivered on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home, workplace, or gym.
Sunrise Medical manufacturer warranty
RGK's owner's manual family prints 5 years on the frame and cross-braces and 12 months on other Sunrise parts for the original purchaser. Tires, tubes, and pads sit outside that term. Court impact and travel damage are why Sunrise reinforces the backrest and anti-tip; they are not a promise the chair cannot be damaged. Sunrise Canada says the term can also vary by province. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What Is A Basketball Wheelchair?
A basketball wheelchair is a court chair with camber, a front wing, and an anti-tip, built for the game rather than for everyday street use. The RGK Elite Series is RGK's made-to-measure basketball wheelchair in Elite or Elite X.
Elite Or Elite X?
The RGK Elite and Elite X share the 7020 aluminum Tri-Frame and the 275.5 lb rating. Elite X adds the carbon fibre axle and the carbon sideguard option. The coach and Westin write one of those two names on the order.
How Light Is The Elite Series?
Sunrise Canada prints the RGK Elite at 20.3 lb (9.2 kg) and the Elite X at 19.2 lb (8.7 kg). Those figures are for the prescribed build on the Canada card.
What Is The Weight Capacity?
The RGK Elite Series is rated at 275.5 lb. Stay at or under that rating.
How Should The Seat Width Be Chosen?
The clinician or coach measures the player. Sunrise offers 9.85 to 19.65 in on the Elite Series. Camber is 16, 18, 20, or 22 degrees. Do not guess a width from a photo.
Is This An Everyday Wheelchair?
No. The RGK Elite Series is a basketball wheelchair. Everyday RGK street chairs start at the Octane Sub4.
Can Funding Help With A Sports Wheelchair In Ontario?
Some Ontario routes can help with sports and recreation equipment. Eligibility depends on the person's situation. For children and youth, Jumpstart Individual Child Grants can help with sport registration and equipment, and ParaSport Ontario lists grant routes. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before anyone orders.
Does Jumpstart Pay For The Whole Chair?
Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities publishes Individual Child Grants of up to three hundred dollars per year per child, ages 4 to 18, for registration and equipment, paid to a registered sport organization. That can help. It is not a promise to buy an Elite. Ask us which payee and which chapter still accept applications.
Can I Try An Elite Before We Order?
Come into a Brampton or Toronto store and ask what we can show. A floor chair will not match every prescribed size. We will tell you honestly what is on the floor.
What Is The Warranty?
RGK's owner's manual family prints 5 years on the frame and cross-braces and 12 months on other parts. Sunrise Canada says the term can vary by province. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
