Description

The Quantum 4Front 2 is a front-wheel Category 3 power wheelchair from Quantum Rehab. Westin Healthcare configures it to an ADP-registered therapist's prescription and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

The ADP device and Quantum's current spec sheet are the 4Front 2 (WP0001441). The original 4Front is not on Ontario's January 2026 list. Quantum rates the 4Front 2 at 300 lbs, up to 6.25 mph (3.5 mph when elevated), a 25.9 inch turning radius, and a 24 inch base. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assessment comes first. For eligible clients, ADP can fund 75% of the approved price.

Who this chair is for

This chair is for a person who needs a front-wheel power base, seating that can change as needs change, and who is within Quantum's 300 lb rating. Families usually call us when outdoor traction and a longer wheelbase matter more than a tight mid-wheel turn, and when Smart Traction Control and Smooth Ride Suspension are on the therapy plan.

If you want a mid-wheel Type 3, start with the Quantum Edge 3 or the Quantum Q6 Edge HD. If you want a Quickie mid-wheel, see the Quickie Q700 M. This is not the 4Front 2 HD (that is a different ADP code) and it is not a folding travel chair.

  • ADP Category 3 / Adult Power Base Type 3 (device code WP0001441)
  • Front-wheel drive, 24 inch base, 25.9 inch turning radius
  • STC and SRS on the current 4Front 2

Design and build

Quantum builds the 4Front 2 as a front-wheel base with 4-pole motors, 14 inch flat-free drive wheels (knobby or pneumatic optional), 9 inch rear casters, and 4 inch anti-tip wheels. Smart Traction Control is how Quantum describes steer correction on uneven ground. Smooth Ride Suspension is the ride package. Caster arms were redesigned on this generation for durability and lower weight.

TRU-Balance 3 and Flex seating are the manufacturer families. Official widths run 12 to 22 inches on TB3 and 15 to 22 inches on Flex. Optional 10 inch power adjustable safe seat elevation is listed at up to 3.5 mph. LED front and rear fender lights are on the current feature list. Q-Logic 3e is standard. Q-Logic 3 and 75 amp NES are options. Specialty controls can be ordered. The chair does not fold.

Quantum 4Front 2 specifications

These figures are for the 4Front 2 as printed on Quantum Rehab's current spec sheet. The specification tab holds the stored values. Quantum does not print a drive range on that sheet, so we do not print one here.

Weight capacity 300 lbs. Maximum speed up to 6.25 mph, or up to 3.5 mph when elevated. Ground clearance 3.15 inches at the battery tray. Turning radius 25.9 inches. Overall length 39.9 inches without front riggings. Base width 24 inches. Base weight 130 lbs. Batteries Group 24 (51.5 lbs) or Group 34 (44.8 lbs). Charger 8 amp off-board. Electronics: 120 amp Q-Logic 3e standard, 120 amp Q-Logic 3 optional, 75 amp Q-Logic NES.

Warranty for a Canadian purchaser follows Quantum's Canada insert: lifetime limited on the main frame and fixed-position seat post, 2 years on electronics, motors, actuators, and accessories, 6 months on bearings, and 12 months on Quantum-supplied batteries.

Colour, seat width, and seat depth

Use Color, Seat Width, and Seat Depth as the starting size and finish on the order. The therapist and Westin then complete TRU-Balance 3 or Flex seating, electronics, and power functions on the Quantum order form. Official 4Front 2 seating starts at 12 inches wide on TB3. If a size you need is not in those starting pairs, ask us. We will write it on the form.

Do not treat those three choices as a finished chair. A Category 3 power wheelchair is configured after assessment.

ADP funding for a Category 3 wheelchair in Ontario

This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

After the chair is approved and built to the prescription, Westin's own team delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the joystick, charger, and seating functions before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a front-wheel power chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

This power wheelchair is oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Quantum manufacturer warranty

Quantum's current Canada insert is lifetime limited on the main frame and fixed-position seat post, 2 years on electronics, motors, actuators, and accessories, 6 months on bearings and bushings, and 12 months on Quantum-supplied batteries. Wear items such as tyres, shrouds, and upholstery are outside that term. We handle the claim with you.

Frequently asked questions

What does Category 3 mean on this power wheelchair?

Ontario lists Quantum 4Front 2 as an Adult Power Base Type 3 device (WP0001441). Type 3 is for people who need ongoing changes in postural support and modifications to electronics. The HD sibling is WP0001900. The paediatric sibling is WP0001442.

Is this the original 4Front or the 4Front 2?

It is the 4Front 2. That is the name on the ADP row for WP0001441, on the slug, and on Quantum's current spec sheet. The original 4Front is the previous generation and is not on the January 2026 ADP list.

Who qualifies for ADP funding?

In general you must be an Ontario resident with a valid health card and a disability that needs a mobility aid for 6 months or longer. An ADP-registered OT or PT has to assess you first. We cannot promise that a specific person will qualify.

How does the 75 / 25 split work?

For eligible clients, ADP pays 75% of the approved price and the person pays 25%. Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD can open 100% of that approved price. Batteries and items outside the ADP device are extra.

What is the assessment process?

An ADP-registered OT or PT examines the person, helps complete the application, and works with Westin on the configuration. Ontario aims to review complete applications within 8 weeks. Do not order before those steps.

Can I try a 4Front 2 first?

Call (905) 451-7743 and ask what is on the floor. A floor chair is a starting point. The funded chair is built to the prescription.

How should the seat width fit?

The therapist measures seated hip width. Official TB3 seating on this base is 12 to 22 inches wide. Use Seat Width and Seat Depth as the starting pair, then finish the form with us.

What is the weight capacity?

Quantum lists 300 lbs. Stay at or under that rating. The 4Front 2 HD is a different device if a higher rating is required.

What if the prescription includes power tilt or recline?

Ontario treats power dynamic tilt and/or recline as high technology. Those chairs are bought through the Central Equipment Pool. Your therapist will say if that path applies.

What happens if ADP declines?

Ontario sends a letter with the reason and how to follow up, including an appeal. Do not take delivery on the assumption that funding will arrive later.

What is the warranty?

Lifetime frame, 2 years electronics and motors, 12 months Quantum batteries, on the Canada insert. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.

Will it fold into a car trunk?

No. It is a full-size front-wheel rehab base, 24 inches wide and 39.9 inches long without riggings, with a 130 lb base before seating and batteries.
