Description
The Pride Pursuit ES scooter is a 4-wheel outdoor scooter for paths, parks, and neighbourhood streets in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets it up, and the standard and high-speed drivetrains are the two factory versions Pride still lists for Canada.
Pride's Canada brochure rates the Pursuit ES at 350 lbs (159 kg), 13 in pneumatic tires, front and rear suspension, and a 68.5 in (174 cm) turning radius. The standard drivetrain is up to 6 mph (9.7 km/h) and up to 33 miles (53 km) per charge. The high-speed drivetrain is up to 9.5 mph (15.3 km/h) and up to 22 miles (35 km). Those figures change with rider weight, terrain, and battery condition.
Who this scooter is for
This is a heavy duty mobility scooter for a person who wants a full-size 4-wheel platform, a 350 lb rating, and 13 in tires, and who is comfortable with a scooter that does not fold. Families usually call us when a mid-size 4-wheel feels small outdoors, and they do not need the lithium Pursuit 2 or the heavier Pursuit XL.
If you want the current lithium Pursuit with a 400 lb rating, start with the Pride Pursuit 2. If you want more capacity and a larger footprint, see the Pride Pursuit XL. The Pursuit ES is not a travel scooter and it is not an all-terrain dual-motor scooter.
- 350 lb (159 kg) rating
- Standard 6 mph or high-speed 9.5 mph
- 53.5 in long, 25 in wide, 13 in pneumatic tires
Range, speed, and batteries
Pride prints two drivetrains. The standard Pursuit ES is up to 6 mph (9.7 km/h) and up to 33 miles (53 km) per charge. The high-speed Pursuit ES is up to 9.5 mph (15.3 km/h) and up to 22 miles (35 km). Real range is shorter on hills, grass, cold days, and at the 350 lb rating.
The Canada brochure calls for two Group 24 batteries and an 8 amp off-board charger on the tiller. Charge on the off-board charger until the battery meter shows full, usually overnight. Lead-acid packs wear with charge cycles; Pride does not print a cycle count here, so we do not invent one.
Portability and transport
The Pride Pursuit ES does not fold and Pride does not print a heaviest-piece figure because the scooter is not a feather-touch travel scooter. Pride lists the weight without batteries at 161 lbs (73 kg). Group 24 batteries add a pair of roughly 53 lb packs.
Plan on a vehicle lift or trailer, not a car trunk. It is not an airline cabin item. Sealed lead-acid packs can travel as a mobility aid only when the airline agrees in advance. Unoccupied tie-down points are on the frame for a lift or van.
Pride Pursuit ES specifications

Colour, tires, batteries, and seating
Use Colors to pick Red or Blue. Use Model (Options) to choose the Standard Model (6 mph) or the High Speed Model (9.5 mph). Use Tires for pneumatic (standard) or solid flat-free. Use Batteries for the Group 24 pair the brochure assumes, or ask us before you pick a smaller Group 22 pair. Use Seating (Options) for the 18 in by 18 in reclining high-back or the 19.5 in by 17.5 in high-back.
Accessories and Cane/Crutch Holder add a basket, flag, cover, or holder after the scooter itself is chosen.
Pursuit ES or Pursuit 2
The Pride Pursuit ES is the Canada brochure scooter with Group 24 batteries, a 350 lb rating, and a 53.5 in by 25 in footprint. The Pride Pursuit 2 is the current lithium Pursuit: 400 lbs (181 kg), up to 9.3 mph (15 km/h), and a 57.5 in by 29.7 in platform that does not use the ES high-speed option. Choose the ES when you want the brochure Group 24 scooter Pride still lists for Canada. Choose the Pursuit 2 when you want the lithium pack and the higher capacity.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Pride manufacturer warranty
Pride Canada's scooter warranty insert is lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on electronics, 2 years on drivetrain, and 13 months on batteries from the battery manufacturer. Wear items such as tires, shrouds, and upholstery sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Pride Pursuit ES scooter travels up to 33 miles (53 km) on the standard drivetrain, or up to 22 miles (35 km) on the high-speed drivetrain, on Pride's Canada brochure. Hills, cold weather, tire pressure, and rider weight shorten that figure.
How long to charge a mobility scooter?
The Pride Pursuit ES uses an 8 amp off-board charger on the tiller. Leave it on charge until the battery meter shows full, usually overnight. Pride does not print a single hour count on the Canada brochure.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a power scooter after an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assesses the person. Westin Healthcare walks you through that route. We cannot promise that a specific person will qualify.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Pride Pursuit ES scooter is a full-size 4-wheel scooter and is not an airline cabin item. A sealed lead-acid pack may travel as a mobility aid only when the airline agrees in advance. Ask the airline before you book.
Can I use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Pride Pursuit ES scooter is not waterproof. Pride's consumer safety guide tells riders to avoid rain, snow, ice, and standing water. Wipe it dry and store it inside.
What is the turning radius of a 4 wheel scooter?
The Pride Pursuit ES scooter has a 68.5 in (174 cm) turning radius on Pride's Canada brochure. That is a full-size outdoor turn, not a Zero Turn indoor figure.
Heavy duty mobility scooter weight capacity?
The Pride Pursuit ES scooter is rated at 350 lbs (159 kg) on Pride's Canada brochure. Stay at or under that figure with rider and cargo together.
What is the difference between the standard and high-speed Pursuit ES?
The standard Pride Pursuit ES scooter is up to 6 mph (9.7 km/h) and up to 33 miles (53 km). The high-speed version is up to 9.5 mph (15.3 km/h) and up to 22 miles (35 km). Use Model (Options) to pick the drivetrain.
Will the Pursuit ES fit through a doorway?
The Pride Pursuit ES scooter is 25 in (64 cm) wide on Pride's Canada brochure. Measure the narrowest doorway, including the frame, before you buy. The 68.5 in turning radius also needs space to turn.
What is the warranty?
Pride Canada's scooter insert for the Pursuit ES is lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on electronics and drivetrain, and 13 months on batteries. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
