The Pride Jazzy Carbon 27 is Pride Mobility's JAZZY CARBON 27 folding power wheelchair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is a carbon fibre travel chair that folds in one piece. The person drives with the joystick.
Pride lists a 300 lb (136 kg) rating, speeds up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h), a 33.4 inch turning radius, and up to 9.3 miles (15.0 km) per charge on the 12 Ah lithium pack. The chair weighs 27.8 lbs without the battery. Pride weighs that pack at 4.6 lbs.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Pride's 17 by 17 inch seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants a folder one person can lift into a trunk. Families usually call us when the original Jazzy Carbon's 39 lb frame is more lift than they want, or when they want the newer LCD joystick with a USB-C port.
If you want an 18 by 18 inch sling that folds upright like a manual chair, start with the Pride Jazzy Carbon 27X. If you need a 400 lb rating and a 20 by 20 inch seat, see the Pride Jazzy Carbon HD. The Carbon 27 is not a take-apart Go Chair.

Range, speed, and batteries
The Pride Jazzy Carbon 27 travels up to 9.3 miles (15.0 km) per charge on the standard 12 Ah lithium box. Pride's footnotes say range changes with user weight, terrain, battery charge, battery condition, and tire condition, and that the number can move 10 percent either way. Plan a shorter day than 15 km if the person is near 300 lbs or the route is not flat.
Top speed is up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h). The charger is a 2-amp off-board unit. Charge the pack with the charger Pride supplies. Pride catalogs a second 12 Ah airline-compliant pack as an add-on. Pride's brochure still marks an extra 20 Ah pack as coming soon, so ask us what we can order today.
Portability and transport
Pride folds the Carbon 27 as one piece and secures it with a strap. Folded size on the brochure is 27.5 inches long, 23.4 inches wide, and 13.38 inches high. It does not come apart into a stack of frame pieces. The joystick disconnects for the trip.
Pride prints the 12 Ah lithium pack as airline-compliant and still says transport on a commercial aircraft is subject to federal regulations and airline policy. Consult the airline before you fly. Pride does not print a watt-hour figure on this chair's spec table, so we do not invent one. For a cruise or a bus, ask the carrier what they allow on board.

Jazzy Carbon 27 or Jazzy Carbon 27X
The Carbon 27 is Pride's 300 lb, 17 by 17 inch strap-fold chair with a 12 Ah pack and a 33.4 inch turn. The Carbon 27X is Pride's 275 lb, 18 by 18 inch X-frame chair that folds vertically to 12 inches wide, with a 10 Ah pack. They are separate Pride models. If you want the older 39 lb Jazzy Carbon, that page is still Jazzy Carbon.

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Pride Canada's card prints a lifetime limited term on the frame and 1-year limited terms on electronics, drive motors, and batteries. Wear items such as tires, upholstery, and shrouds sit outside that term. Gradual battery wear from storage, cold, or heavy use is outside the battery term. We handle the warranty claim with you.
