Description

The Pride Go-Go LX scooter is Pride Mobility's 4-wheel travel scooter with Comfort-Trac Suspension. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is a take-apart travel scooter. It does not fold as one piece.

Pride's US spec table rates the 4-wheel LX at 300 lbs (136 kg), speeds up to 4.4 mph (7.1 km/h), a 44.75 inch (113.7 cm) turning radius, and up to 5.5 miles (8.9 km) per charge on dual 12 Ah batteries. Feather-touch disassembly splits the scooter into five pieces. The heaviest piece is the 39 lb (17.7 kg) front section.

Who this scooter is for

This scooter is for a person who stays at or under the 300 lb rating, fits Pride's 17 by 17 inch compact seat, and wants a 4-wheel travel scooter with front and rear suspension rather than a faster Sport or a tighter-turning Elite Traveller 2. Families usually call us when sidewalks and driveway lips feel harsh on a scooter with no springs, and they still need pieces that lift into a car trunk.

If you want more speed and a 325 lb rating, start with the Pride Go-Go Sport 4-Wheel. If you want the tightest Pride 4-wheel turn, see the Pride Go-Go Elite Traveller 2. The LX is not a one-piece folding scooter.

  • Daily indoor and paved outdoor use with CTS front and rear springs
  • A travel scooter that comes apart for the car, with a 39 lb heaviest piece
  • Interchangeable red and blue shrouds and a 2-amp off-board charger

Range, speed, and batteries

Pride's US spec table prints up to 5.5 miles (8.9 km) per charge on two 12 Ah sealed batteries, at the 300 lb rating. Pride Canada prints 13.8 km on an 18 Ah pack for the same S54LX stem. Ask us which pack is on the scooter we ship. Pride's footnotes say range changes with rider weight, terrain, battery charge, battery condition, and tire condition, and that the number can move 10 percent either way.

Top speed is up to 4.4 mph (7.1 km/h) on the US table. Pride Canada prints up to 7 km/h. The charger is a 2-amp off-board unit. Pride puts the charger port on the tiller and allows on-board or off-board charging. Charge time depends on pack size and how empty the batteries are. We do not print an hour figure Pride does not print.

Portability and transport

Pride calls this feather-touch disassembly. The compact seat lifts off, then a release splits the front and rear of the base. Pride lists five lightweight pieces. The heaviest piece is the 39 lb (17.7 kg) front section. The scooter weighs 87 lbs (39.5 kg) without batteries and 109.5 lbs (49.7 kg) with batteries on the US spec table.

Pride designed the five-piece split for a car trunk. It is not a one-piece fold and it is not an airline-compliant lithium scooter. The pack is sealed lead-acid. If you need a Pride scooter Pride describes as airline-compliant, look at the Pride Go-Go Carbon and still ask the airline before you fly.

Pride Go-Go LX specifications

These figures are for the Pride Go-Go LX with CTS Suspension 4-Wheel, model SC54LX, as printed on Pride's current US specification table. The specification tab holds the stored values. Pride's 2022 brochure still prints a few different weights. We use the spec table when they fight.

Weight capacity 300 lbs (136 kg). Top speed up to 4.4 mph (7.1 km/h). Turning radius 44.75 inches (113.7 cm). Length 41.75 inches. Width 20.5 inches. Ground clearance 1.5 inches at the motor and 2.5 inches at the frame. Seat-to-ground 20.75 to 22.25 inches. Seat-to-deck 16.25 to 17.25 inches. Seat 17 by 17 inches, compact foldable black vinyl. Front tires 2 by 7 inch solid. Rear tires 2.5 by 8 inch solid. Batteries two 12 Ah, 9 lbs each. Charger 2-amp off-board. Heaviest piece 39 lbs, front section.

Warranty for a Canadian purchaser follows Pride's travel-scooter terms: lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on electronics, and 2 years on the drivetrain. Pride Canada also prints 13 months on sealed batteries.

Colour options

Use Colors to pick the shroud colour. Pride's standard pair is red and blue, and those two shroud sets come with the scooter. Pride also lists optional body inserts in other colours. Ask us if you want an insert beyond red or blue.

Travel scooter with suspension, or the Sport

The LX is the Go-Go that puts Comfort-Trac springs on all four wheels. The Go-Go Sport 4-Wheel skips that suspension, raises capacity to 325 lbs, and uses EZ Turn for a 41.5 inch turn. The Go-Go Ultra X 4-Wheel is the lighter, lower-cost take-apart 4-wheel with a 52.25 inch turn and no CTS.

Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mobility scooter across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble the five pieces, and show you the tiller, the charger, and the disassembly before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a travel scooter first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

This mobility scooter is larger than small parcel goods. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Pride manufacturer warranty

Pride's current LX spec table is lifetime limited on the frame and 2-year limited on electronics and drivetrain for the original purchaser. Pride Canada's scooter insert keeps those terms and prints 13 months on sealed batteries. Wear items such as tires, shrouds, and upholstery sit outside that term. Gradual battery wear from storage, cold, or heavy use is outside the battery term. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

How far can a mobility scooter go?

The Pride Go-Go LX 4-Wheel travels up to 5.5 miles (8.9 km) per charge on Pride's US 12 Ah spec table, tested at the 300 lb rating. Pride Canada prints 13.8 km on an 18 Ah pack. Pride's own footnotes say range changes with weight, terrain, and battery condition. Plan a shorter day than the headline figure if the person is near 300 lbs or the route is not flat.

How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?

The Pride Go-Go LX uses Pride's 2-amp off-board charger, on the tiller port or off the scooter. Pride does not print a single hour count. Charge time depends on pack size and how empty the batteries are. Use the charger Pride supplies.

Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?

Pride does not print an airline-compliant claim for the Go-Go LX. The pack is sealed lead-acid, not the 288 Wh lithium box used on the Go-Go Carbon. If you need a Pride scooter Pride describes as airline-compliant, look at the Go-Go Carbon and still ask the airline before you fly.

Will a travel scooter fit in a car?

The Pride Go-Go LX is built to come apart for a car trunk. Pride lists five pieces. The heaviest single piece is 39 lbs (17.7 kg). We can walk through the split at delivery.

How much does a Pride travel scooter weigh?

The Pride Go-Go LX 4-Wheel weighs 87 lbs (39.5 kg) without batteries and 109.5 lbs (49.7 kg) with batteries on Pride's US spec table. The heaviest piece is 39 lbs.

What is the turning radius of a 4 wheel scooter?

The Pride Go-Go LX 4-Wheel has a 44.75 inch (113.7 cm) turning radius. That is wider than the Elite Traveller 2 at 37 inches and the Sport 4-Wheel at 41.5 inches.

What is the weight capacity of a travel scooter?

The Pride Go-Go LX is rated at 300 lbs (136 kg). Stay at or under that rating.

Can I use a mobility scooter in the rain?

Pride tells Go-Go riders to find shelter in rain or snow and to avoid large puddles. Water can harm the electronics and rust the frame. If the Pride Go-Go LX gets wet, Pride says to dry it, let it sit in a warm dry place for 12 hours, then check the tiller and brakes before you ride again.

Does ADP cover scooters?

Some Ontario routes can help with mobility equipment, including power scooters, when the need is long-term and an assessment supports it. Eligibility depends on the person's situation. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.

Is the Go-Go LX still current?

Pride's US brochure stamps the Go-Go LX discontinued as of 1 June 2022 and says Pride no longer accepts new factory orders on that sheet. Pride Canada still lists the Go-Go LX. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will tell you what we can order or have on the floor.
