Description
The Pride Go Chair is Pride Mobility's GOCHAIR portable power wheelchair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is a take-apart travel power chair. The person drives with the joystick. It does not fold as one piece.
Pride's current sheet lists a 300 lb rating, speeds up to 3.8 mph (6.1 km/h), a 25.5 inch turning radius, and up to 11.2 miles (18.0 km) per charge on the 20 Ah battery pack. Feather-touch disassembly splits the chair into five pieces. The heaviest piece is the 36 lb rear section.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Pride's 18 by 17 inch or 20 by 18 inch compact seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants a power chair that comes apart for a car trunk rather than a carbon fibre folder. Families usually call us when a full-size Jazzy is too heavy to lift in pieces, or when a folding carbon chair's mesh seat is not the shape they want.
If you want a chair that folds in one piece, start with the Pride Jazzy Carbon 27 or the Pride Jazzy Ultra Light. If you want a front-wheel-drive portable that takes apart and keeps a high-back seat, see the Pride Jazzy Elite ES Portable.
- Daily indoor use with a 25.5 inch turn
- A power chair that comes apart for the car, with a 36 lb heaviest piece
- A 20 Ah sealed battery pack and a 2-amp off-board charger
Design and build
Pride builds the Go Chair as a two-motor, rear-wheel-drive base with limited suspension. Front casters are 6 inch solid. Drive wheels are 9 inch solid. The current brochure prints 2 inch solid rear anti-tips. A manual freewheel lever sits on each motor so a helper can push the base when the motors are disengaged.
The seat is compact foldable black vinyl on a 5-point swivel with a latch release. Pride lists 18 inch wide by 17 inch deep, or 20 inch wide by 18 inch deep. Armrests change height and width. Dual storage bins swing out from under the seat. A large footplate and a 60 inch lap belt come with the chair. An accessory mount on the back takes a cane holder or oxygen holder when you add one.
Feather-touch disassembly is Pride's one-lever split. Remove the foldable seat, then separate the front and rear sections. Pride's owner manual says an authorized Pride provider or a qualified technician must do the first setup. The chair is not a one-piece fold.
Pride Go Chair specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU GOCHAIR, Pride model GOCHAIR, as printed on Pride's current US product page and the 061826 brochure. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Pride lists a 300 lb capacity, up to 3.8 mph (6.1 km/h), a 25.5 inch (648 mm) turning radius, and up to 11.2 miles (18.0 km) per charge. Length is 28.5 inches without the front rigging and 33 inches with the footplate. Brochure overall width is 25.5 inches. The website spec table still prints 22.5 inches for the power base only. Ground clearance on the brochure is 1.75 inches at the motor. The website table also prints 1.8 inches at the motor, 1.7 inches at the anti-tip, and 2.7 inches at the foot bracket.
The current battery is a 20 Ah pack that Pride weighs at 31.4 lbs. The charger is a 2-amp off-board unit. Electronics are a 40-amp PG GC3. Seat-to-ground height on the website table is 22 to 23 inches.
Warranty for the original purchaser is Pride's 5-year limited term on the main frame, 2 years on electronics in Canada (13 months in the US insert), 13 months on the drivetrain, and 13 months on batteries. Wear items such as tires, upholstery, and shrouds sit outside that term.
Go Chair or Go Chair MED
The Pride Go Chair (model GOCHAIR) and Pride's Go Chair MED (model GOCHAIRMED) are different Pride chairs. This page is the Go Chair: up to 3.8 mph and up to 11.2 miles on the 20 Ah pack. Go Chair MED is the chair on Pride Canada's current shop index: up to 3.7 mph and up to 9.41 miles. They share the feather-touch split and the 36 lb rear section. They are not the same product with two names. If you were sent here for Go Chair MED, call (905) 451-7743 and we will walk you to the right chair.
Colour and seating options
Use Colors to pick the shroud colour. Pride's current six are blue, orange, red, yellow, white, and pink (Rose Quartz).
Pride builds the seat in 18 by 17 inch or 20 by 18 inch. Ask us which size you need before we order. A 60 inch lap belt is standard.
Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this power wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble the five pieces, and show you the joystick, the freewheel levers, and the charger before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This power wheelchair is larger than small parcel goods. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Pride manufacturer warranty
Pride's current Go Chair brochure prints a 5-year limited term on the frame and 13-month limited terms on the drivetrain, electronics, and batteries for the original purchaser. Pride's July 2024 standard power insert lengthens the electronics term to 2 years in Canada. The insert does not cover shrouds, motor brushes, upholstery, brake pads, tires, tubes, or fuses, and it does not cover labour unless Pride authorizes it in advance. Gradual battery wear from storage, cold, or heavy use is outside the battery term. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
How Far Will The Go Chair Go On One Charge?
Pride's current brochure and website print up to 11.2 miles (18.0 km) per charge on the 20 Ah pack. Pride's own footnotes say range changes with user weight, terrain, battery charge, battery condition, and tire condition, and that the number can move 10 percent either way. Plan a shorter day than the headline figure if the person is near 300 lbs or the route is not flat.
What Battery And Charger Does It Use?
Pride's current GOCHAIR sheet is a 20 Ah battery pack that weighs 31.4 lbs, with a 2-amp off-board charger. It is a sealed lead-acid pack, not a lithium travel battery. Charge it off the chair with the charger Pride supplies. Do not mix this pack with the 10Ah or 20Ah lithium boxes on the Jazzy Ultra Light.
Does It Fold, Or Does It Come Apart?
It comes apart. Pride calls this feather-touch disassembly. The seat lifts off, then a release lever splits the front and rear of the base. Pride lists five lightweight pieces, with the rear section at 36 lbs. It is not a one-piece carbon fold.
Is This The Same Chair As Go Chair MED?
No. The Pride Go Chair on this page is model GOCHAIR: up to 3.8 mph and 11.2 miles. Go Chair MED is model GOCHAIRMED: up to 3.7 mph and 9.41 miles, and it is the card Pride Canada currently lists. They share the take-apart idea. They are not a rename of one product.
What Is The Indoor Turning Radius?
Pride lists 25.5 inches (648 mm). That is the figure Pride uses when it talks about tight indoor corners. The chair is 25.5 inches wide on the current brochure (22.5 inches on the power-base-only website table).
Who Drives The Go Chair?
The person in the seat, using the joystick. A helper can push the base in freewheel after the motors are disengaged. Engage drive again before the person sits and uses the joystick.
What Is The Weight Capacity?
Pride lists 300 lbs (136 kg) on GOCHAIR. Stay at or under that rating.
Will It Fit In A Car?
Pride designed the five-piece split for a car trunk. The heaviest single piece is 36 lbs. We can walk through the split at delivery. Pride does not print a folded-as-one size, because the chair does not fold as one piece.
Can It Go On A Plane Or A Cruise?
Pride does not print an airline-compliant claim for the Go Chair. The pack is sealed lead-acid, not the lithium box used on the Jazzy Carbon 27. If you need a Pride chair Pride describes as airline-compliant, look at the Jazzy Carbon 27 or the Ultra Light 10Ah pack, and still ask the airline before you fly.
What Is The Warranty?
Pride prints 5 years on the frame and 13 months on drivetrain, electronics, and batteries. In Canada the standard insert makes electronics 2 years. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
Can Funding Help With This Chair In Ontario?
Some Ontario routes can help with mobility equipment. Eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Can I Rent A Power Wheelchair Before I Buy?
Westin Healthcare rents some power wheelchairs. The live rental page is a different chair. Ask us whether a Go Chair can go out as a rental for your dates. Purchased chairs are delivered on a scheduled date.
