Description
The Span America Geo-Mattress Pro is Span America's single-layer treatment foam mattress. Span America is a Savaria company. Westin Healthcare quotes it, delivers it, and sets it on the bed for long-term care homes and for families in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area whose clinician has asked for this surface.
This is a non-powered foam mattress. There is no pump and no motor. Span builds the Pro as one zoned layer with a Geo-Matt segmented top, a Heel Slope at the foot, and a vapour-barrier, bacteriostatically treated cover. Span rates the 35 inch sizes at 300 lbs. Height is 6 inches at the centre. This page is the Pro only. It is not the Geo-Mattress 350, Plus, Max, UltraMax, HC, or Atlas.
Who this mattress is for
This mattress is for a person who needs a treatment-level foam surface on a matching hospital or long-term care deck, and who does not need a powered air system. Span writes the Pro for the general patient population, including people at moderate to high risk of skin breakdown who can still be repositioned by themselves or a caregiver. Span also lists it for prevention of pressure injuries, and, after a full skin assessment, as a surface that may be used for a single Stage 2 pressure injury.
Purchasing coordinators usually call us when a home wants a Geo-Matt treatment foam at the 300 lb rating without stepping up to a dual-layer or three-layer Geo-Mattress. Families call when a therapist has named the Geo-Mattress Pro. If the person is near or over 300 lbs on a 35 inch deck, ask us about a higher-rated Span surface instead of stretching this mattress.
- Long-term care and retirement homes that want a single-layer Geo-Mattress on a 35 inch deck
- Private homes where a clinician has asked for the Geo-Mattress Pro
- Anyone who wants a quiet foam surface with no pump to plug in
Construction and how it works
The Geo-Mattress Pro is a single layer of zoned foam. The Geo-Matt top is cut into more than 800 individually articulating cells in distinct head, torso, and foot zones. Span's Ring-of-Air design helps move heat and moisture away from the skin and helps the foam follow the body. The Heel Slope tapers the foot so load shifts onto the lower leg instead of sitting on the heel. Span states heel pressures 27% lower than flat designs.
The cover is fluid-proof and wipe-clean, with a vapour barrier, bacteriostatic treatment, an ultra-low moisture vapour transmission rate, and a hidden zipper. Span says to wipe the cover, not to immerse the mattress, and not to launder it.
Raised Perimeter (Pro RP) is the same Pro foam with 8 inch sides and a 6 inch centre. Span says the raised edge prompts the user away from the edge of the bed and is designed to reduce the need for restraints. Firm Perimeter on the 42 inch builds adds a firmer edge for sitting and transfers. Raised foam sides are not metal bed rails. Metal rails are chosen on the bed page.
SPAN America Geo-Mattress Pro specifications
These figures are for the Span America Geo-Mattress Pro and Pro RP. They are not the Geo-Mattress 350, Plus, Max, UltraMax, HC, or Atlas figures. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Span lists a 300 lb weight limit on the 35 inch Pro and Pro RP, and 375 lb on the 39 inch and 42 inch Pro builds. Height is 6 inches at the centre (8 inches at the side on Raised Perimeter). The mattress weighs 21 lbs on the Pro and about 24 lbs on the Pro RP.
Span's warranty for the original purchaser is 5 years, non-prorated, on the mattress core and 2 years on the cover. The mattress is certified to NFPA 101 (ASTM E1590), California Technical Bulletin 117, and 16 CFR 1632 and 1633.

Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds or mattresses, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, and check the fit before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a mattress first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased mattresses are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital mattresses are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the mattress is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Which beds this mattress fits
Span lists institutional Pro sizes for 32, 35, and 42 inch decks in 75, 78, 80, and 84 inch lengths, plus consumer Twin, Full, Queen, and King. Span asks you to confirm the mattress fits the frame and to keep gaps small so the person cannot slip into a space at the edge.
On Westin beds we already sell, a 35 inch Pro matches the 35 inch sleep deck on the Span America Advantage. A 42 inch Firm Perimeter Pro matches the 42 inch ReadyWide stop on the Span America Encore. If the care plan later asks for a convertible air surface from the same brand, see the Span America PressureGuard Non-Powered Custom Care. See all medical mattresses if you are still choosing a therapy class.
Service and warranty
When something on the mattress needs work, you call the shop that delivered it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Span America manufacturer warranty
Span America covers the original purchaser with 5 years, non-prorated, on the mattress core and 2 years on the cover. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
How is the Geo-Mattress Pro different from the other Geo-Mattress models?
The Pro is the single-layer treatment foam, rated 300 lbs on the 35 inch sizes, with a 5-year core warranty. The 350 is a prevention mattress at 350 lbs. Plus is two layers at 400 lbs. Max is three layers at 400 lbs with a visco heel and firm side bolsters. UltraMax is the acute high-performance foam. HC is the 5 inch homecare mattress. Atlas is the bariatric Geo-Mattress. This page is the Pro only.
Does the Geo-Mattress Pro need a pump?
No. It is a non-powered foam mattress. There is nothing to plug in and nothing to cycle at night.
What is the weight rating?
Span lists 300 lbs on the 35 inch Pro and on Raised Perimeter, and 375 lbs on the 39 inch and 42 inch Pro builds. If the person is near that limit, ask us about a higher-rated surface.
What size fits a standard hospital bed?
Most Span institutional decks we sell are 35 inches wide and 80 inches long, which takes PR8035-29. Use PR7535-29 on a 75 inch deck and PR8435-29 on an 84 inch deck. A 42 inch Firm Perimeter Pro is for a 42 inch deck. Measure the sleep surface before you pick Size.
How do I clean the cover?
Span says to wipe the cover with a damp cloth and let it air dry for 20 to 30 minutes. For hard spots, use a soft brush and a facility-approved disinfectant. Span recommends a hospital-grade phenolic or quaternary disinfectant and says not to immerse the mattress or launder the cover.
What is Raised Perimeter?
Raised Perimeter (Pro RP) is the same Pro foam with 8 inch sides and a 6 inch centre. Span says the raised edge prompts the user away from the edge of the bed. It is foam, not a metal side rail. Metal rails bolt to the bed frame and are chosen on the bed page.
Can funding help pay for this mattress in Ontario?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover hospital beds or mattresses. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada, and community programs may still help, depending on the person. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will point you to the right route before anyone starts paperwork. The funding page is the starting point.
Can I rent a mattress like this before I buy?
Westin Healthcare rents hospital beds with a therapeutic medical mattress included. See current packages on the hospital bed rentals page. The Geo-Mattress Pro itself is a purchase item. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program so we can apply the program rules.
What is included with the Geo-Mattress Pro?
You get the Span America Geo-Mattress Pro foam mattress in the Size you pick, with the vapour-barrier cover already on it. Raised Perimeter and Firm Perimeter are Size values, not separate cartons. The bed frame and metal rails are sold on the bed pages.
What is the warranty on the Geo-Mattress Pro?
Span lists 5 years, non-prorated, on the mattress core and 2 years on the cover for the original purchaser. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work on our service and repairs page.
Is this a treatment mattress or a prevention mattress?
Span writes the Pro as a treatment-level foam for prevention of pressure injuries and for people at moderate to high risk. After a full assessment, Span also lists it as a surface that may be used for a single Stage 2 pressure injury. It is not the Geo-Mattress 350 prevention mattress and it is not a powered air treatment system.
Does the Geo-Mattress Pro fit a 36 inch homecare deck?
Span's institutional Pro widths are 32, 35, and 42 inches. A 35 inch Pro is built for a 35 inch deck such as the Span America Advantage. Confirm the deck width before you order so the mattress and the frame meet with a small gap, as Span asks.
