Description

The Resten Select is Resten's adjustable home comfort base, sold as the Resten Select Adjustable Comfort Bed. Resten is the lifestyle brand from 5 Minds Mobility in Ajax, Ontario. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. This bed is quoted to size. Use Request a Quote or call (905) 451-7743 and we will confirm the frame, the mattress, and any legs before we book delivery.

The wireless remote moves the head section and the foot section. Resten also lists Zero G, anti-snore, programmable massage, memory positions, one-touch flat, LED underbed lighting, USB charging ports, and a mattress retainer. Standard legs are 12 inches. This is a furniture-style adjustable base, not a hospital hi-lo bed. The deck does not raise and lower for caregiver height.

Who this bed is for

This bed is for a person who wants an adjustable sleep position at home and wants the base to look like furniture, not like a hospital frame. Families usually call us when someone wants to sit up to read or rest, when a partner wants a different angle, or when a therapist has asked for head and foot elevation without a medical hi-lo bed.

If you need a Permobil-distributed hospital-style bed with rails and a rising deck, see the Permobil Halsa bed package with rails. If you want another premium homecare look with a wireless remote, see the Sophia 2 premium homecare bed. If you need a standard full-electric hospital bed package, start with the Drive Delta 1000.

  • Home bedrooms, where the base should sit on 12 inch legs and look like a regular adjustable bed
  • Anyone who wants electric head and foot positioning, Zero G, anti-snore, and massage from a wireless remote
  • Couples who want a split King, so each person can set their own Twin XL side

What you get

The Resten Select is an adjustable home comfort base. The wireless remote, and the app Resten lists on the current brochure, control the head and the foot. Memory buttons store a favourite position. One-touch flat sends the deck back to level. A retainer bar keeps the mattress from walking as the deck moves.

Westin's listing is the Resten Select Adjustable Comfort Bed, quoted to size. The carton is the base, the remote with its storage pocket, the mattress retainer, and the 12 inch legs. A mattress is not in that carton unless you add one under Choose Mattress. Side rails are not in that carton. Ask us on the quote if you want the 2 inch adjustable height legs Resten lists, or if you need a rail.

  • Wireless remote with a storage pocket
  • Head and foot articulation
  • Zero G and anti-snore positions
  • Programmable massage
  • Memory positions and one-touch flat
  • LED underbed lighting
  • USB charging ports
  • Mattress retainer
  • Standard 12 inch legs
  • Headboard brackets listed as available by Resten

There is no 9V backup in the remote and no emergency crank listed for this model. If the power goes out, the base stays in the last position.

Resten Select specifications

These figures are for the Resten Select adjustable home comfort base, factory size codes RESTSEL-TXL, RESTSEL-DB, and RESTSEL-QN. The specification tab holds the stored values. Resten's current product page lists a maximum client weight of up to 600 lbs and standard 12 inch legs.

Sizes on this listing are Twin XL 39 inches by 80 inches, Double 54 inches by 75 inches, Queen 60 inches by 80 inches, and split King as two Twin XL bases. Resten also prints a 15 year frame warranty, including the solid wood plywood panel and the steel frame, and a 3 year warranty on electrical parts (control box, remote, power supply, motor, LED light, and USB port).

The sleep height is the 12 inch leg height. This model does not have a hi-lo motor, so the deck does not travel between a low transfer height and a caregiver height.

Choose Bed Size

Use Choose Bed Size to set the frame we will quote. The names below are the choices on this listing.

  • Twin XL - 39” x 80” (RESTSEL-TXL)
  • Double - 54” x 75” (RESTSEL-DB)
  • Queen - 60” x 80” (RESTSEL-QN)
  • Split King - (2) 39” x 80” 2x (RESTSEL-TXL)

Twin XL is the starting size. Split King is two Twin XL bases side by side, so each person can keep their own angle. If you are not sure which size fits the room or the mattress you already own, tell us on the quote and we will measure it with you.

Choose Mattress

The bed price is the frame. Use Choose Mattress if you want a Resten surface quoted with the base. A mattress is not required. The names below are the choices on this listing.

  • Twin XL Luxury Mattress (RESTLUX-TXL)
  • Double Luxury Mattress (RESTLUX-DBL)
  • Queen Luxury Mattress (RESTLUX-QN)
  • Split King Luxury Mattress - 2x (RESTLUX-TXL)
  • Twin XL (Plush) Hybrid Mattress (RESTHYP-TXL)
  • Twin XL (Firm) Hybrid Mattress (RESTHYF-TXL)
  • Double (Plush) Hybrid Mattress (RESTHYP-DBL)
  • Double (Firm) Hybrid Mattress (RESTHYF-DBL)
  • Queen (Plush) Hybrid Mattress (RESTHYP-QN)
  • Queen (Firm) Hybrid Mattress (RESTHYF-QN)
  • Split King (Plush) Hybrid Mattress - 2x (RESTHYP-TXL)
  • Split King (Firm) Hybrid Mattress - 2x (RESTHYF-TXL)

Match the mattress size to the frame you pick. Split King uses two Twin XL mattresses. If you already have a mattress that is rated for an adjustable base, say so on the quote and we will leave Choose Mattress empty.

Funding help for a hospital bed in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. Depending on the person, other programs may help, including ODSP, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, hardship funding programs, and community support programs.

Westin Healthcare works with these funding programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page and we will check which programs fit your situation before any paperwork starts. The funding page lists the programs we work with.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this bed across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a bed first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased beds are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Hospital beds are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the bed is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the bed needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Resten manufacturer warranty

Resten's published warranty for this bed is 15 years on the frame, including the solid wood plywood panel and the steel frame, and 3 years on electrical parts, including the control box, the remote, the power supply, the motor, the LED light, and the USB port. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

Does OHIP cover hospital beds?

No. Hospital beds in Ontario are not covered by OHIP. Depending on the person, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, or a community support program may still help. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check which path fits before anyone starts paperwork.

Does ADP cover hospital beds in Ontario?

No. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. The funding page lists the programs Westin Healthcare works with, including March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, and community support programs.

What is the difference between a full-electric and a semi-electric hospital bed?

A full-electric hospital bed moves the head, the foot, and the height of the deck from a hand control. A semi-electric bed usually moves the head and foot with a motor and leaves height to a crank. The Resten Select is not a hospital hi-lo. It articulates the head and the foot electrically on 12 inch legs.

Is the Resten Select a hospital bed?

No. It is Resten's furniture-style adjustable home comfort base. If you need rails, a rising deck, or a hospital sleep surface, ask us about the Permobil Halsa or the Drive Delta 1000 instead.

What mattress fits the Resten Select?

Match the mattress to the frame: Twin XL 39 inches by 80 inches, Double 54 inches by 75 inches, Queen 60 inches by 80 inches, or two Twin XL mattresses for split King. Use Choose Mattress to add a Luxury or Hybrid surface from this listing, or tell us if you already have an adjustable-base mattress.

Can I rent a hospital bed before I buy?

Westin Healthcare rents hospital beds. This Resten Select is a quoted purchase, not a rental package. If you want to live with electric positioning for a recovery first, see current hospital bed rental packages and rates on hospital bed rentals in Brampton.

How fast can this bed be delivered in the GTA?

Purchased and quoted beds are delivered and set up on a scheduled date. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service, not on this Select quote. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works.

What happens if the power goes out?

The Resten Select runs on household power. Resten does not list a battery backup or a crank for this model. If the power goes out, the base stays in the last position until power returns.

What is the weight capacity of the Resten Select?

Resten lists a maximum client weight of up to 600 lbs for the Select. If the person is near that number, or if two people will share a Queen, tell us on the quote so we size the frame and the mattress together.

What is included with the Resten Select?

The quote is the adjustable base in the size you pick, the wireless remote, the mattress retainer, and the 12 inch legs. LED lighting and USB ports are on the frame. A mattress is optional under Choose Mattress. Rails and the 2 inch adjustable legs are quoted if you ask for them.

What is the warranty on the Resten Select?

Resten's published warranty is 15 years on the frame, including the solid wood plywood panel and the steel frame, and 3 years on electrical parts. Westin Healthcare handles the claim with you.

What is Zero G on the Resten Select?

Zero G is the preset that raises the head and the foot together. Resten also lists an anti-snore position, memory buttons, and programmable massage. Use the remote to try those presets after we set the bed up.
