Description

The Human Care Positioning Sling is a sheet-style sling for turning, repositioning, and lateral transfer while the person is lying down. Reusable ventilated articles are rated at 454 kg (1000 lb). The single-patient-use article is rated at 318 kg (700 lb). Westin Healthcare sells it in Brampton and fits it across the Greater Toronto Area.

This is a loop sling with eight straps. It hangs on a Human Care 4-point hanger bar, not on an E-clip. If you need a seated amputee transfer, see the Human Care Amputee Sling. If you need a seated sit-on sling, see the Human Care Comfort Sling High Soft.

Who this sling is for

Human Care designed this sling for a person who stays supine for the move: turning, repositioning, or a lateral transfer. Reusable ventilated fabric may stay behind the person like a sheet for a short period. The single-patient-use model is for short-term use by one person, then dispose of it. This is not a seated transfer sling and not a sit-to-stand sling.

Choose Size and Type for the article you need. Human Care's current sheet also lists reusable Soft Air Mesh NSB-451-S at 318 kg / 700 lb. Ask us if that article is the better match. Call (905) 451-7743 before first use.

Attachment and compatible lifts

The Positioning Sling is a loop sling. Human Care prints eight reinforced straps (six body, two head). Named bars are 92938 (4-point for HeliQ or HeliQ PT) and 55619 (4-point on the Altair or Roomer S leg hook). It does not use E-clips.

On our floor it belongs on a Human Care motor hanging from the Humancare Lena or the Humancare FlexiRail, with one of those 4-point bars. The working load of the finished system is the lowest rating among the frame, motor, bar, and sling. This is not a seated sling for a Handicare C-series carry bar.

Human Care Positioning Sling specifications

These figures are from Human Care's Positioning Sling sheets. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Reusable ventilated articles NSB-410-ST-L and NSB-410-ST-XL are 454 kg / 1000 lb. Single-patient-use NSB-451-U is 318 kg / 700 lb. The sling is a supine positioning sheet, not a divided-leg seat.

Care and laundering

Reusable slings: Human Care prints the care instructions on the sling label and asks for a hospital-grade laundry bag. Follow the label on the sling you receive.

Single-patient-use slings: Human Care says dispose after use. Intended for short-term use by a single patient. Do not launder an SPU sling as if it were reusable.

Delivery in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team can deliver this sling across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, on its own or with a patient-lift setup. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sling first. For a scheduled drop-off or a fitting, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works.

This is a small carton. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods can apply when it ships without a lift. If it travels with a patient lift, the lift is oversized and White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Warranty

When something on the sling needs work, you call the shop that sold it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.

Human Care manufacturer warranty

Human Care's current Positioning product sheet does not print a simple year-count warranty. Ask us for the warranty that ships with your order. We handle the claim with you. Single-patient-use slings are dispose after use, not a wash-and-reuse warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an E-clip sling?

No. Human Care's Positioning Sling is a loop sling with eight straps on a 4-point bar.

What is the safe working load?

Reusable ventilated L and XL are 454 kg / 1000 lb. Single-patient-use NSB-451-U is 318 kg / 700 lb. Use the rating printed on the article you order.

Can I wash the single-patient-use sling?

No. Human Care says dispose after use. It is intended for short-term use by a single patient.

Which size should I order?

Use Human Care's width and length on the chart. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use.

Human Care wrote this sling for supine repositioning and lateral transfer. For a seated amputee or sit-on transfer, use the matching seated sling.

Does it fit a Handicare ceiling lift?

Human Care names HeliQ and Altair / Roomer S 4-point bars. We fit it on a Human Care motor on the Lena or FlexiRail.

How do I wash a reusable sling?

Follow the sling label and use a hospital-grade laundry bag. Inspect the straps after every wash.

Does funding cover a sling in Ontario?

Slings follow the funding path of the lift they are used with. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check the lift and the sling together.
