Description
The Pride VivaLift Ultra is Pride Mobility's current tilt power lift recliner with true-infinite positioning, three heat pads, and a lumbar air-bladder massage. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Pride prints three sizes: Small PLR-4955S, Medium PLR-4955M, and Large PLR-4955L.
Pride's Ultra spec table rates every size at 400 lbs (181 kg). Exclusive VivaLift Tilt pivots the chair from the rear of the seat so the knees sit above the heart. Power headrest, power lumbar, an independent backrest, a hideaway wireless phone pad, a hideaway cup holder, and a standard footrest extension are on the sheet. A lithium backup pack keeps the chair usable if household power fails.
Who this lift chair is for
This lift chair is for a person who stays at or under the 400 lb rating and wants Pride's tilt pivot, not only an infinite recline. Small follows Pride's 5'4" (163 cm) and below guide. Medium is 5'5" to 6'1" (165 to 185 cm). Large is 5'10" (178 cm) and above and needs 21.5 inches (55 cm) from the wall.
If you want heat without tilt or massage, see the Pride VivaLift Radiance. If you want the size ladder without heat, see the Pride VivaLift Tranquil 2.
- Current Pride VivaLift with exclusive Tilt
- Three heat pads and a three-level lumbar massage
- Capriccio Cappuccino, Dove, Slate, or Smoke
Tilt, heat, and massage
Pride describes VivaLift Tilt as a third pivot. A typical recliner leans from the base of the backrest and the top of the footrest. Ultra also pivots from the rear of the chair and lifts the front of the seat, like a rocking chair, so the knees sit above the heart.
Three heat pads sit in the shoulders, lumbar, and seat, with three heat levels. The massage is an air bladder in the lower back with three intensity settings. Heat and massage buttons are on the inside of the left armrest. The toggle remote has one programmable memory button, independent tilt / lumbar / headrest keys, and a USB port. The hideaway wireless pad charges phones that already support wireless charging. Pride says not to put a watch on that pad.
The lithium backup is there so the lift still runs when the room loses power. The chair is not a substitute for a caregiver when the person cannot use a hand control.
Fit and size
Use Choose Size for Small, Medium, or Large. Figures come from Pride's Ultra brochure and specification table.

Pride VivaLift Ultra specifications
Every size: weight capacity 400 lbs (181 kg). True-infinite plus Tilt. Deluxe biscuit back. Total Comfort seat. Footrest extension standard. Lithium backup. Warranty on the sheet is 7-year pro-rated. The specification tab holds a generic family bucket. Use the size list above when they fight.
Colour options
Use Choose Color for Capriccio Cappuccino, Capriccio Dove, Capriccio Slate, or Capriccio Smoke. Those four are Pride's standard Ultra fabrics and the set we sell. Pride also lists Sorrento Coffee leather and Trento Brown or Charcoal on some sizes. Ask us if you want a fabric beyond Capriccio.
Ultra tilt or Radiance heat
Ultra is the current VivaLift with Tilt, heat, and lumbar massage. The Radiance keeps three heat pads and drops tilt and massage. A 3-position Pride Elegance such as the LC-570 does not have independent back and footrest motors and does not tilt.
Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased lift chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
A lift chair is larger than small parcel goods. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Pride manufacturer warranty
Pride's Ultra sheet prints a 7-year pro-rated limited warranty for the original purchaser. Pride's lift-chair insert also keeps a lifetime term on the lift and scissor mechanism and the lift frame, and 12 months on the lithium backup pack. Heat pads and the massage unit sit inside the pro-rated term. Fabric sits outside that term. Exceeding the 400 lb rating voids the Pride warranty. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Is a Zero Gravity Lift Chair?
The Pride VivaLift Ultra is Pride's zero-gravity style lift chair. VivaLift Tilt pivots from the rear of the seat and raises the knees above the heart. That is a different motion from a standard infinite recline.
What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?
The Pride VivaLift Ultra is sold in Small, Medium, and Large. Pride's height guides are 5'4" and below for Small, 5'5" to 6'1" for Medium, and 5'10" and above for Large. Sit in the size you think you need.
How Far From the Wall Does a Lift Chair Need to Be?
The Pride VivaLift Ultra needs 15 inches (38 cm) from the wall in Small and Medium, and 21.5 inches (55 cm) in Large.
What Is the Difference Between a 3 Position and an Infinite Position Lift Chair?
A 3-position lift chair moves the back and footrest together. The Pride VivaLift Ultra is infinite and then adds Tilt, so the back, footrest, and seat pivot can move on their own.
Does ADP Cover Lift Chairs?
Funding for a lift chair in Ontario depends on the person's situation and assessment. Some programs help with mobility equipment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Does a Lift Chair Work During a Power Outage?
The Pride VivaLift Ultra includes a lithium backup pack so the lift and recline can still run if household power fails. Pride warrants that pack for 12 months.
Does the Ultra Have Heat and Massage?
The Pride VivaLift Ultra has three heat pads in the shoulders, lumbar, and seat, plus a lumbar air-bladder massage with three intensity settings. It is not a full-body massage chair.
What Is the Weight Capacity of the Ultra?
The Pride VivaLift Ultra is rated at 400 lbs (181 kg) in Small, Medium, and Large. Stay at or under that rating.
Is the Ultra a Current Pride Chair?
The Pride VivaLift Ultra is on Pride's current US models index and on Pride Canada's VivaLift shop. It is Pride's current tilt collection chair.
