Description
The Max Ultra backrest is Future Mobility's Max-series foam wheelchair back support with the most aggressive lateral support in the Prism line. Westin Healthcare fits it in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area after a seating check on the chair.
This is the Max Ultra, factory prefix MUB. It is not the Max TrueFitt cube back, and it is not the older Prism Ultra.
Who this back support is for
The Max Ultra backrest is for a person at or under 250 lb (113 kg) whose seating therapist wants a Max-series aluminum shell with 3 in higher laterals than regular Prism backs, high-density foam, and a breathable air-mesh cover. Future Mobility also prints it as an upgrade path from Prism Ultra, Prism Air, and Prism TrueFitt.
A seating therapist should confirm the size and that Max Ultra is the right contour. Westin does not give clinical positioning advice. If you have questions about posture or transfers, ask the therapist who assessed you, or call us and we will book that conversation.
Hardware, laterals, and fit
The shell is 5052-grade aluminum. Laterals sit 3 in higher than regular Prism backs. Back angle adjusts 15 degrees forward and 20 degrees back. Pins come standard, 0.5 in longer, and 1 in longer, and take up to a 2 in (5 cm) seat-width difference. Hardware fits 3/4 in, 7/8 in, and 1 in canes. Cane clamps and a quick latch release are included.
Use Choose Cushion Size for the width by height pair. Use Colors for black, royal blue, navy blue, dark green, or burgundy. The factory card names those five colours on the air-mesh spandex cover.
- Product weight 5 lb (2.27 kg) at 18 in W x 16 in H
- User weight 250 lb (113 kg)

Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and fits this back support across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, mount it on the wheelchair canes, and show you the quick-release latches before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a wheelchair back support first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased seating is delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the back support is going outside the GTA, ask us for a shipping quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the back support needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Future Mobility manufacturer warranty
Future Mobility prints 3 years limited on the Max Ultra back, 90 days on the cover, and 1 year on the hardware, for the original purchaser. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Wheelchair Backrest Do I Need?
A wheelchair back support is ordered by seat width and back height, not by clothing size. Measure the wheelchair seat width and how high the shell should sit on the back canes, then use Choose Cushion Size for the matching width by height. A seating therapist should confirm the size before you order.
What Is A Wheelchair Back Support?
A wheelchair back support mounts to the rear canes and holds the trunk. The Max Ultra backrest is an aluminum shell with high-density foam and 3 in higher laterals than regular Prism backs.
Does ADP Cover Wheelchair Cushions?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a wheelchair cushion or back support after an ADP-registered therapist assessment, when the seating is required with an eligible mobility device. Eligibility depends on the person and the device. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
What Is The Weight Capacity Of The Max Ultra?
The Max Ultra backrest is rated at 250 lb (113 kg) on Future Mobility's current card.
How Much Does The Max Ultra Weigh?

Is The Max Ultra The Same As The Max TrueFitt?

What Tubing Does The Max Ultra Fit?
The Max Ultra backrest hardware fits 3/4 in, 7/8 in, and 1 in wheelchair canes on the Future Mobility card.
Can I Remove The Max Ultra For Transport?
The Max Ultra backrest uses a quick latch release and lower latch levers so the shell can come off the cane clamps.
What Comes With The Max Ultra?
The Max Ultra backrest is ordered as the 5052 aluminum shell, high-density foam, air-mesh cover, and cane-clamp hardware for the size and colour you pick.
