Description
The Max TrueFitt backrest is Future Mobility's cube-foam wheelchair back support in the Max series, with raised laterals and 6 in of lateral support. Westin Healthcare fits it in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area after a seating check on the chair.
This is the Max TrueFitt, factory prefix MTFB. It is not the older Prism TrueFitt, and it is not the Max Ultra.
Who this back support is for
The Max TrueFitt backrest is for a person whose seating therapist wants a Max-series aluminum shell with individual foam cubes that can be arranged for the person, plus raised laterals for high trunk support. Future Mobility prints it as fully adjustable for height, depth, and recline angle.
A seating therapist should confirm the cube layout and the size. Westin does not give clinical positioning advice. If you have questions about posture or transfers, ask the therapist who assessed you, or call us and we will book that conversation.
Hardware, cubes, and fit
The shell is lightweight aluminum. Individual foam cubes customize the sitting surface. Hardware fits 3/4 in, 7/8 in, and 1 in canes. Lower latch levers release the back. Pins and hardware adjust height, depth, and recline.
Use Choose Cushion Size for the width by height pair. Factory stock pairs on the Aug 2024 form are 16x16, 18x16, and 20x16. Other pairs on the control (16x18, 16x20, 17x16, 17x20, 18x18, 18x20, 20x18, 20x20) are non-stock sizes on that form. Use Colors for black, navy blue, burgundy, royal blue, or dark green.
- Product weight 5.5 lb (2.5 kg) at 18 in W x 16 in H
- 6 in of lateral support and raised laterals for high trunk support, as Future Mobility states it
- Optional 2x2 visco or 3x2 poly cube blocks on the factory form
Max TrueFitt specifications
These figures are from Future Mobility's July 2025 Max TrueFitt brochure and the live Canada card. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Product weight 5.5 lb (2.5 kg) at 18 in W x 16 in H. Warranty 2 years limited on the back, 90 days on the cover, and 1 year on hardware. Future Mobility's current brochure does not print a standard user-weight number for this model, so we do not invent one. Ask the seating therapist and our shop to confirm the rating for the size you order.
Sizes and colours
Use Choose Cushion Size for the width by height pair. Use Colors for the cover. We set the hardware on the canes at delivery. Cube options are ordered with the shop, not as a page control.
Max TrueFitt, Max Ultra, or Lunar
Stay here if you want the Max cube back. The Max Ultra is the Max back with 3 in higher laterals, a 250 lb (113 kg) rating, and a 3-year back term. The Prism TrueFitt is the older Prism-series cube back, not this Max model. The Lunar Basic Mid Support is the modular Lunar shell when swing-away laterals are the priority.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and fits this back support across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, mount it on the wheelchair canes, and show you the quick-release latches before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a wheelchair back support first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased seating is delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the back support is going outside the GTA, ask us for a shipping quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the back support needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Future Mobility manufacturer warranty
Future Mobility prints 2 years limited on the Max TrueFitt back, 90 days on the cover, and 1 year on the hardware, for the original purchaser. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Wheelchair Backrest Do I Need?
A wheelchair back support is ordered by seat width and back height, not by clothing size. Measure the wheelchair seat width and how high the shell should sit on the back canes, then use Choose Cushion Size for the matching width by height. A seating therapist should confirm the size before you order.
What Is A Wheelchair Back Support?
A wheelchair back support mounts to the rear canes and holds the trunk. The Max TrueFitt backrest is an aluminum shell with individual foam cubes and raised laterals. It is not a whole wheelchair.
Does ADP Cover Wheelchair Cushions?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a wheelchair cushion or back support after an ADP-registered therapist assessment, when the seating is required with an eligible mobility device. Eligibility depends on the person and the device. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Is The Max TrueFitt The Same As The Prism TrueFitt?
The Max TrueFitt backrest is the Max-series cube back (factory prefix MTFB). The Prism TrueFitt is a separate older Prism-series back. They are not the same product.
How Much Does The Max TrueFitt Weigh?
The Max TrueFitt backrest weighs 5.5 lb (2.5 kg) at the 18 in by 16 in size Future Mobility prints.
What Is The Weight Capacity Of The Max TrueFitt?
Future Mobility's current Max TrueFitt brochure does not print a standard user-weight number. Ask the seating therapist and our shop to confirm the rating for the size you order.
What Tubing Does The Max TrueFitt Fit?
The Max TrueFitt backrest hardware fits 3/4 in, 7/8 in, and 1 in wheelchair canes on the Future Mobility card.
Can I Remove The Max TrueFitt For Transport?
The Max TrueFitt backrest uses quick-release lower latch levers so the shell can come off the cane clamps.
What Comes With The Max TrueFitt?
The Max TrueFitt backrest is ordered as the aluminum shell, cube foam, cover, and cane-clamp hardware for the size you pick. Visco or poly cube blocks are factory extras. Ask us to confirm the foam option on your order.
