This is the Lunar Basic mid-back height (14 to 18 in). It is not the full or low Lunar Basic, and it is not Lunar Heavy Duty.
Who this back support is for
The Lunar Basic Mid Support backrest is for a person whose seating therapist wants a modular aluminum back in the mid-height band, with no, basic, or ultra laterals. Future Mobility designed Lunar Basic for users who need aggressive lateral support and complex positioning.
A seating therapist should confirm the height and the lateral style. Westin does not give clinical positioning advice. If you have questions about posture or transfers, ask the therapist who assessed you, or call us and we will book that conversation.
Hardware, laterals, and fit
The shell is lightweight aluminum with replaceable foam. Pins take up to a 2 in (5 cm) seat-width difference. Height, depth, and recline angle adjust on the hardware. Lower latch levers release the back.
Hardware on the Future Mobility card fits 3/4 in, 7/8 in, and 1 in canes. Use Model Choice for No Lateral, Basic Lateral, or Ultra Lateral. Optional add-on pads: fixed, height-adjustable, fixed-offset, and adjustable swing-away.

Mid, Full, Low, or HD
Stay here for the 14 to 18 in Lunar Basic. The Lunar Basic Full Support is the 20 to 24 in shell. The Lunar Basic Low Support is the 10 to 12 in shell. The Lunar Heavy Duty Mid Support is the 500 lb mid shell from 22 in wide. The Lunar Slim is the lighter 350 lb slim shell when range of motion is the priority.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. A wheelchair back support is ordered by seat width and back height, not by clothing size. Measure the wheelchair seat width and how high the shell should sit on the back canes, then use Choose Cushion Size for the matching width by height.
