The Savaria Gantry Track System is a freestanding rail for a Savaria portable ceiling-lift motor. It is the frame, not the motor. Two low-profile feet, two posts, and a Savaria track stand over the bed so you can hang the portable motor and move a person between bed and wheelchair without opening the ceiling. Westin Healthcare is an official Savaria Patient Care dealer. We quote the kit and set it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Savaria builds this frame in Brampton as the Ceiling Lift Free Standing Support. It is sized for the Savaria portable lift, the motor we sell as the Savaria Monarch. It is not the Handicare FST-300, which is a 300 lb travel rail, and it is not the Castor stand, which takes a fixed or portable motor on a different Handicare frame.
Who it is for
This gantry is for a person who needs an overhead transfer in a room that cannot take a fixed ceiling track: a condo, a rental, a short-term recovery bedroom, or a care room where the joists are not the right fit. Families also use it when they already own a Savaria portable motor and need a rail that matches that motor. Pick the span and safe working load from the kit list so the frame, not a guess, sets the rating.

Which lifts this fits
Fit is the star fact. Savaria's owner's manual says use the frame only with a Savaria ceiling track and a Savaria ceiling lift. The portable motor hangs on a trolley in that rail. The installed safe working load is the lowest rating among the gantry kit, the motor, the trolley, the carry bar, and the sling.
- Savaria Monarch / M-Series Portable, 440 lb (M929001). This is the current portable we publish. Live page: Savaria Monarch portable lift. Savaria's portable card says that motor can be paired with the Savaria Gantry. Default kit M920801 is the 440 lb, 2.5 m span that matches this motor.
- Savaria Monarch, 286 lb (M929011). Same portable family, lower rating. We hold it in the catalogue as tmpl 20492. It has no live product page yet. Use an SD, MD, or HD kit whose span chart is at least 286 lb, then the motor still caps the transfer at 286 lb.
- Handicare AP-300 (303080). Live page: Handicare AP300 portable ceiling lift. A 300 lb portable we still list. Handicare has discontinued it. The FSS manual does not print AP-300. Ask us to confirm the trolley before we pair remaining AP-300 stock with this frame.
- Handicare P-440 (303070). A 440 lb Handicare portable we still hold as tmpl 18782. It has no live product page. The FST-300 brochure names P-440. The FSS manual does not. Ask us to confirm the trolley, or we quote the Handicare FST-300 when the 300 lb travel rail is the right match.
This frame does not take a Human Care motor. For a Human Care gantry see the Humancare Lena or the Humancare FlexiRail. It is not a mount for a fixed M-Series, C-Series, or A-Series motor that stays in a ceiling track.
What you get and how it stands
Each kit is two bases, two posts, the rail for that span, the upper rail attachments, end stoppers, end caps, and the PVC post strips. The trolley is ordered separately. The portable motor, charger, carry bar, and slings are separate lines. Savaria's brochure calls out the low-profile feet so a wheelchair can pass the bases more easily.
Savaria's manual says an Authorized Savaria Dealer installs the frame. Westin is that dealer. If the finished height is 98 in (249 cm) or less, Savaria recommends two people for the empty-frame assembly so the rail does not mark the ceiling. Optional bolts can pin the bases to the floor. Do not push, bump, or smash the rail or posts. Savaria writes that any damage to the structure can result in injury.
Savaria Gantry Track System specifications
These figures are for the Savaria Free Standing Support. They come from Savaria's live gantry card and owner's manual 001077-EN (16 December 2022). They are not the FST-300 sheet and not the Castor sheet.
Savaria lists a safe working load of 130 kg (286 lb), 200 kg (440 lb), or 272 kg (600 lb) depending on the span chart. Base assembly 32 kg (71 lb). Each post 7.2 kg (16 lb). Track 3.14 kg/m (2.2 lb/ft). Base length 110 cm (43 1/2 in). Maximum height over the track 242 cm (95 1/4 in). Maximum height under the track 233 cm (91 3/4 in) on SD, 229 cm (90 in) on MD, and 226 cm (89 1/2 in) on HD. Product life 10 years. ISO 10535:2021 and MDR (EU) 2017/745. Operating range 5 C to 40 C.
The span chart on the manual is the rating. SD (single rail): 286 lb to 3.0 m, 440 lb to 2.5 m, 600 lb to 2.0 m. MD: 286 lb to 6.0 m, 440 lb to 4.5 m, 600 lb to 4.0 m. HD: 286 lb to 7.0 m, 440 lb to 5.5 m, 600 lb to 4.5 m. A 600 lb kit does not turn a 440 lb portable into a 600 lb lift.

Use Gantry kit to pick the rail class and the span that matches the person and the room. The default is SD 440 lb x 2.5 m (M920801). There is no height picker. The trolley, motor, and slings stay on their own lines.

Westin's own team delivers and sets up the Savaria Gantry Track System across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and walk you through hanging the portable motor before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a gantry first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased equipment is delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Gantries are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the gantry is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the gantry needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Savaria FSS warranty
Savaria's gantry card and the Free Standing Support owner's manual do not print a simple year-count warranty. We handle the claim with you for the serial we installed. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Which portable motors fit this gantry?
Savaria writes the frame for a Savaria ceiling lift on a Savaria track. The motor we publish for that pairing is the Savaria Monarch (440 lb M929001). A 286 lb Monarch sibling exists in our catalogue. The Handicare AP300 and the Handicare P-440 are older portables we still hold. Ask us to confirm the trolley before we hang those Handicare motors on this frame.
Is this the same as the Handicare FST-300?
No. The Handicare FST-300 is a 300 lb travel rail you can assemble without tools. This Savaria gantry is the heavier Free Standing Support with a span chart up to 440 lb or 600 lb. If the person is at or under 300 lb and you need a pack-up rail, start with the FST-300.
Is this the Castor stand?
No. Castor is a different Handicare freestanding stand. It takes a fixed or portable motor and uses a different code family. This page is the two-post Savaria gantry for the portable lift.
What is the safe working load?
It depends on the kit. Savaria prints 286 lb, 440 lb, or 600 lb on the span chart. The default M920801 kit is 440 lb at a 2.5 m span. The installed transfer is still limited by the motor, trolley, bar, and sling if any of those is lower.
Does the quote include the lift motor?
No. A quote for this page is the gantry kit you pick. The trolley, portable motor, and slings are listed as their own lines. Ask us to write the full list so nothing is assumed.
Do I need to open the ceiling?
No. The frame stands on the floor. Savaria designed it for rooms where a fixed track is not an option. Optional floor bolts can pin the bases if we agree that is the right install.
Which span should I order?
Measure the transfer path, then pick the shortest kit that still clears the bed and chair and still holds the person's weight on the span chart. Longer spans need MD or HD rail. Call (905) 451-7743 with the room sketch and we will pick the code.
What slings fit this setup?
The slings that match the carry bar on the portable motor. Use universal, full-body, toileting, or divided-leg slings rated for that bar. Do not put a sit-to-stand sling on this overhead rail. Shop universal slings, full-body slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings.
Can one person put the empty frame up?
Savaria's shop card says the structure assembles in minutes. The owner's manual says an Authorized Savaria Dealer installs it, and recommends two people when the finished height is 98 in or less. Westin's team does that assembly on the delivery date.
How fast can this gantry be set up in the GTA?
Westin's team delivers and sets up across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date after the quote is agreed. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service, not automatically to a purchased frame.
