The JAY Zip cushion is Sunrise Medical's 2.75 inch (7 cm) kids foam wheelchair cushion for skin protection and positioning in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The current card rates it at 165 lbs (75 kg) and 1.2 lbs (0.54 kg) on a 12 by 12 inch size, with widths from 8 to 16 inches (20 to 41 cm) and depths from 8 to 18 inches (20 to 46 cm).
This is the paediatric foam step on the JAY ladder. Foam firmness increases with width. Sunrise ships an extra outer cover in the box.

Foam, covers, and sidebands
The JAY Zip cushion uses a dual-layer foam base. Sunrise prints that a child on an 8 inch width may need a softer foam than a child on a 14 inch width, so firmness follows width. The inner cover is Dartex-coated Lycra with a water-resistant zipper and anti-wicking thread. The outer cover is machine-washable silver-thread stretch. An extra outer cover ships with every Zip.
Through JAY Your Way, Sunrise offers coloured sidebands in blue, red, toxic green, purple, and pink at no extra charge. Ask us if you want a sideband colour.

The JAY Zip cushion is the current kids foam JAY. Stay here if the child still fits 8 to 16 inches and 165 lbs. The JAY Ion Cushion is the adult foam skin-protection step from 14 inches. The JAY GO Cushion is adult dual-layer foam. The JAY Basic Cushion is the 2 inch adult sling-seat foam. The retired JAY Lite is not a kids cushion and is no longer a current Sunrise order.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased cushions are delivered on a scheduled date.
