The Pride Jazzy Carbon HD is Pride Mobility's JAZZY CARBON HD folding power wheelchair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is a carbon fibre travel chair that folds in one piece. The person drives with the joystick.
Pride lists a 400 lb (181 kg) rating, speeds up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h), a 36.4 inch turning radius, and up to 12.4 miles (20.0 km) per charge on the standard 20 Ah lithium pack. The chair weighs 32.2 lbs without the battery and 39.7 lbs with it.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Pride's 20 by 20 inch seat, stays at or under the 400 lb rating, and still wants a folder one person can lift into a trunk. Families usually call us when a 300 lb carbon chair is too small in the seat or the rating, but a full-size mid-wheel base is too heavy to load.
If you want a lighter 300 lb folder, start with the Pride Jazzy Carbon 27. If you want a full-size 450 lb mid-wheel chair, see the Pride Jazzy EVO 614HD. The Carbon HD is not a take-apart Go Chair.

Range, speed, and batteries
The Pride Jazzy Carbon HD travels up to 12.4 miles (20.0 km) per charge on the standard 20 Ah lithium box. Pride's footnotes say range changes with user weight, terrain, battery charge, battery condition, and tire condition, and that the number can move 10 percent either way. Plan a shorter day than 20 km if the person is near 400 lbs or the route is not flat.
Top speed is up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h). The charger is a 2-amp off-board unit. Pride's brochure prints the standard 20 Ah pack as non-airline compliant. The airline-compliant add-on Pride lists is a 12 Ah pack. Ask us which pack you need before you fly.
Portability and transport
Pride folds the Carbon HD as one piece and locks it. Folded size on the brochure is 31.3 inches long, 26.4 inches wide, and 13 inches high. Flip-up carbon fibre arms come with the chair. It does not take apart into five pieces. The joystick disconnects for the trip.
Pride still says transport on a commercial aircraft is subject to federal regulations and airline policy. Consult the airline before you fly. Do not treat the standard 20 Ah pack as the airline pack. If you need Pride's airline-compliant accessory, that is the additional 12 Ah battery.

Do not mix these numbers with the Carbon 27 (300 lb, 12 Ah, 17x17) or with the EVO 614HD (450 lb full-size mid-wheel).

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost.
