Description
The Invacare Pegasus Pro scooter is a full-size 4-wheel outdoor scooter with a 350 lb (159 kg) rating, a 15 km/h (9.5 mph) top speed, and up to 55 km (34 miles) of range on 75 Ah Group 24 batteries. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Invacare builds the Pegasus Pro as the step-up from the Pegasus Metro: an LCD tiller, double wishbone suspension, 12 in pneumatic tyres, and room for the long-range 75 Ah pack. The Canada table rates it at 52 in (132 cm) long and 25.5 in (65 cm) wide. It is not a mid-size take-apart scooter and it is not a folding airline scooter.
Who this scooter is for
The Pegasus Pro is for a person who needs a 350 lb rating, a captain's seat about 20 in (51 cm) wide, and more speed and range than a mid-size Leo, without moving to the longer 57 in Comet Pro deck. Families usually call us when 8 km/h and 36 Ah are no longer enough.
If you want 13 in tyres and the flagship outdoor chassis, see the Invacare Comet Pro. If you want five-piece take-apart and included batteries, see the Invacare Leo 4-Wheel.
- Full-size 4-wheel outdoor, 350 lb (159 kg)
- Up to 55 km (34 miles) on 2 x 75 Ah Group 24 batteries
- 12 in pneumatic tyres, 4 in (10 cm) obstacle clearance
Range, speed, and batteries
Invacare Canada's table rates the Pegasus Pro at up to 55 km (34 miles) and 15 km/h (9.5 mph). That range is an ISO 7176-2 estimate using a 100 kg (220 lb) test dummy. Real range shortens with a heavier rider, higher speed, cold weather, hills, soft tyres, and older batteries.
Invacare recommends two 12 V, 75 Ah Group 24 batteries and an 8 A off-board charger. Those batteries are not included on the Canada sheet. Use Choose Batteries if you need the Group 24 75 Ah pair or you already have batteries. Invacare's scooter manuals use the same charge routine across this family: 18 hours before first use, a typical recharge up to 12 hours, a 16 hour charge at least once a week, and a 24 hour charge once a week. Charge in a dry room, not above 30 C and not in the cold.
Portability and transport
The Pegasus Pro does not split into trunk pieces. The Canada table lists 172 lb (78 kg) for the scooter (that cell does not say whether batteries are in the figure). Invacare does not print a heaviest-piece weight for the Canada PEGASUS4P. Frame-welded tie-down points are how this family is secured in a van.
Invacare does not publish airline approval for the 75 Ah sealed batteries. This is a full-size outdoor scooter, not a folding lithium travel scooter. Ask the airline only if you are moving the scooter as mobility equipment, and follow that airline's lead-acid rules. For home delivery we bring it in assembled and show you the tiller and charger.

Colour and batteries
Use Choose Color to pick Diamond Silver, Marble White, Garnet Red, or Alium Blue. Invacare also prints other classic and premium shrouds, including green. If you need a colour that is not in Choose Color, ask us.
Use Choose Batteries if you need the Group 24 75 Ah pair Invacare recommends, or if you want the scooter without batteries. Group 24 is the pack on the Canada Pegasus Pro sheet.
Heavy duty mobility scooter: Pegasus Pro or Comet Pro
Stay on the Pegasus Pro if you want 15 km/h (9.5 mph), 55 km (34 miles), and 12 in tyres on a 52 in (132 cm) deck. Choose the Comet Pro if you want the same speed and range class on 13 in tyres and a 57 in (145 cm) outdoor deck. Choose the Leo 4-Wheel if you need five-piece take-apart and included 36 Ah batteries instead of a full-size outdoor scooter.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Frequently asked questions
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro scooter is rated up to 55 km (34 miles) on 75 Ah Group 24 batteries, measured to ISO 7176-2 with a 100 kg (220 lb) dummy. Riding at 15 km/h, carrying more weight, or running in the cold will shorten that figure.
How long does it take to charge a mobility scooter?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro typically needs up to 12 hours to recharge after a day's riding, depending on how far the 75 Ah pack was drained. Invacare also asks for 18 hours before first use, a 16 hour charge at least once a week, and a 24 hour charge once a week.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro is not published as airline-approved. It is a full-size outdoor scooter with 75 Ah sealed batteries, not a folding lithium travel scooter. Airlines treat lead-acid mobility equipment under their own battery rules. Ask before you book, and look at a folding lithium scooter if flying is the main job.
Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro has motor and electronics protection that Invacare describes as a guard against water and corrosion. That covers typical wet weather. It is not a waterproof scooter. Dry the tiller and charge indoors.
Do mobility scooters work in winter?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro can run on cleared, hard outdoor surfaces in cold weather, but Invacare warns not to charge the batteries in low temperature and not above 30 C. Range falls in the cold. It is not rated as a snow or ice scooter.
Will a mobility scooter fit through a doorway?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro is 25.5 in (65 cm) wide. A 32 in interior door usually clears the deck. Hall turns are tighter because this is a 52 in (132 cm) outdoor scooter. Measure the door and the turn before you buy.
3 wheel vs 4 wheel scooter?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro scooter is a 4-wheel outdoor platform. Four wheels give a more planted feel on broken pavement. A 3-wheel scooter usually turns tighter indoors. The Pegasus Pro we sell is the 4-wheel model.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can fund mobility equipment after an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist. Whether a specific scooter is approved depends on the person and the device. Talk to us before you buy. We will point you to the right route.
What is the weight capacity of a mobility scooter?
The Invacare Pegasus Pro scooter is rated at 350 lbs (159 kg) for the rider plus anything carried on the scooter. Stay at or under that rating.
Can I rent a mobility scooter?
Westin Healthcare can talk through a scooter rental when you only need one for a recovery or you want to live with a full-size outdoor scooter before you buy. Call (905) 451-7743. Purchased Pegasus Pros are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
