The Invacare Matrx E2 Deep Back 16 x 18 is Invacare and Motion Concepts' 6 in contour E2 in factory size E2D1618, with Ripple Foam, EasySet hardware, and a 300 lb (136 kg) rating. Westin Healthcare sells this size and fits it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is the 16 in wide by 18 in high E2 Deep. It is not the 3 in E2 and it is not a full size picker.
Motion Concepts prints E2D1618 as fits-width 15-18 in (38-46 cm) and fits-length 18 in (46 cm). Other E2 Deep sizes exist at the factory. Westin sells the 16 x 18 here.
Who this back support is for
This wheelchair back support is for a person who stays at or under 300 lb, whose chair is about 15-18 in between the canes, and who wants the newer E2 series in a 6 in contour rather than the 3 in E2. Families usually call us when they want Ripple Foam and more midline wrap than a standard contour gives.

Fit, contour, and hardware
The Invacare Matrx E2 Deep 16 x 18 uses EasySet pins that fit a chair 1 in narrower or 2 in wider than the 16 in back. Hardware fits 3/4 in, 7/8 in, and 1 in canes. Angle is a 40 degree range. Depth is 2 in in front of or behind the canes. Motion Concepts includes a headrest interface on E2 backs 14 in and higher, so this 18 in high Deep includes it.
Foam, cover, and care
Ripple Foam on the Invacare Matrx E2 Deep uses airflow channels, a rippled top, and a solid HR backing, with extra immersion in the spinal relief area. The Meshtex cover is moisture-resistant and overlaps the shell. Optional Protect Startex slipcovers apply to selected 16/18/20 in sizes. Remove the foam before any machine wash of the cover.

Westin's E2 Deep here is the 16 x 18. The Matrx E2 is the 3 in contour in 18 in and 20 in heights. The Elite Deep 18 x 18 is the older 6 in Elite in a wider 18 in shell. The Matrx MAC Hug is the adjustable-contour back.
Foam back support, gel cushions, and air cushions

Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost.
