Invacare Comfort Sling

The Invacare Comfort Sling is a net-fabric loop sling for people who need a constant seated position, including some amputees and people with chronic postural pain. Invacare rates Small, Medium, and Large at 500 lb and Extra Large at 550 lb. Westin Healthcare sells it in Brampton and fits it across the Greater Toronto Area on the Invacare Reliant 450.

This is a loop sling. Invacare slings are made for Invacare lifts. Stay inside 450 lb when the lift is the Reliant 450, even if the Extra Large sling is rated 550 lb. If you need a padded divided-leg sling instead, see the Invacare Divided Leg Sling.

Who this sling is for

Invacare wrote the Comfort Sling for amputees and for people with chronic or postural pain who may need to stay seated. It transfers from a horizontal position to a seated position. A commode-opening Comfort sibling exists under different Invacare numbers and is not this listing. This is not a sit-to-stand sling.

Invacare sizes this net family as 2485968, 2485969, 2485970, and 2485947. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use.

Choose Size for the article. Call (905) 451-7743 if the person is near 450 lb on a Reliant 450. That lift, not the XL sling, is the limit.

Attachment and compatible lifts

This is a one-piece loop sling. Colour-coded loops hook to the Invacare swivel bar.

Invacare names Jasmine, Reliant 450, Reliant 600, I-Transia, and 9805 on the large hooks. On our site the matching lift is the Invacare Reliant 450. Invacare says do not intermix slings and lifts of different manufacturers. Shop other padded and full-body styles in full-body slings.

Fabric is net, not spacer. Polyester Comfort articles and spacer Universal High articles are different Invacare numbers. Large 2485970 is the parent article. Extra Large 2485947 is 550 lb on the sling and still limited by the lift.

Care and laundering

Invacare says wash regularly in water not over 180 F (82 C). Do not bleach. Air dry or dry at low temperature. Inspect after every wash. Follow the tag on the sling. Invacare prints an expected service life of 13 months when the sling is used and laundered as directed.

No. Articles 2485968, 2485969, 2485970, and 2485947 are Invacare Comfort Sling net fabric.

What is the safe working load?

500 lb on Small, Medium, and Large. 550 lb on Extra Large. A Reliant 450 still limits the transfer to 450 lb.

Does it fit a Human Care or Handicare lift?

Invacare says its slings are for Invacare lifts. We fit this family on the Reliant 450.

Which size should I order?

Use Invacare's A, B, C, and D measures. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use.

Is there a commode opening?

Not on these articles. Invacare lists Comfort slings with a toileting opening under different numbers.
