SR means Sensor Ready. This is Hybrid Elite SR, not Hybrid Select, and not the High Profile air-only cushion.

Who this cushion is for

The ROHO Hybrid Elite SR cushion is for a person whose seating therapist wants air-cell skin protection plus foam channels for pelvic and lower-extremity stability. Permobil prints adjustable air cells for pressure redistribution and an optional Smart Check device for setup and monitoring.

Smart Check is sold separately. A seating therapist should confirm the size, the cover, and whether Smart Check is part of the plan. This page does not give clinical positioning advice.

Fit and size

Measure the wheelchair seat, then use Choose Cushion Size for width and depth. Permobil prints widths 14 to 18 inches in 1 inch steps, then 20, 22, and 24 inches. Depths are 14 to 18 inches in 1 inch steps, then 20 and 22 inches. Thickness is 4.25 inches (about 10.8 cm).

Use Choose Cushion Cover for the standard two-way stretch cover or the heavy-duty incontinence cover. The heavy-duty cover is the HD / LTC style Permobil lists beside the standard cover.

Air insert, foam base, and Smart Check

The ROHO Hybrid Elite SR cushion combines a single air insert with contoured foam channels. Inflate the insert, then use Permobil's hand check. If the therapist ordered Smart Check, attach it to the quick-disconnect port and follow Permobil's stored-range setup. We show you the port and the pump in the home.

The foam is there for stability and lower-extremity alignment as Permobil states it. The air insert is there for immersion. Do not treat Smart Check as a medical monitor. It is a setup aid for Sensor Ready cushions.

Ontario ADP lines on Permobil's 2022 sheet: SESRO9501 (single valve up to 20 inches) and SESRO9502 (over 20 inches).

Permobil's current Canada and US cards do not print a weight-capacity number for Hybrid Elite SR. We do not invent one here. Ask the seating therapist whether this hybrid is the right size and construction.

Which ROHO cushion fits

Stay here if you want Hybrid Elite SR: one air insert, contoured foam, optional Smart Check, 24-month cushion warranty. The ROHO Hybrid Select Cushion is the other hybrid: ISOFLO, a removable IT insert, a 500 lb (227 kg) rating, and a 36-month cushion warranty. The ROHO High Profile Cushion is air only. The ROHO Mosaic Cushion is the entry air cushion.

Foam such as the JAY Basic Cushion is a different job. Air, foam, and gel are different media. Ask the seating therapist which one fits.

Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario

This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost.
