Description
The HealthCraft INVISIA SerenaSeat is HealthCraft item INV-WSAL, a folding shower seat that mounts on the shower wall. HealthCraft Products Inc. builds it in Ottawa, Ontario. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The frame is corrosion-resistant aluminum. The seat and the back are laminated bamboo.
HealthCraft rates the SerenaSeat at 400 lb (181 kg) when it is installed into a secure structure. Use Seat Width to pick 18 in (457 mm) or 26 in (660 mm). Use Metal Finish to pick Grey, Matte Black, or Oil Rubbed Bronze. The bamboo stain HealthCraft prints is Medium.
Who this shower seat is for
This shower seat is for a person who stays at or under the 400 lb rating and who wants a folding shower seat that leaves the stall floor clear when it is folded. Families usually call us when they are renovating a shower and they do not want a free-standing bath seat sitting in the stall.
If you want a free-standing seat you can set in a tub today, start with the AquaSense Adjustable Bath Seat with Backrest. If you want a locking swivel in the tub, see the PreserveTech 360 Swivel Bath Chair.
- A wall-mount folding shower seat, 18 in or 26 in
- 400 lb (181 kg) when the wall structure is sound
- Folds up; HealthCraft prints a folded profile under 3.25 in (83 mm)
Seat width, height, and finishes
HealthCraft prints two seat widths: 18 in / 457 mm (INV-WSAL-18) and 26 in / 660 mm (INV-WSAL-26). Overall width is 20 in on the 18 in seat and 28 in on the 26 in seat. Back rest 18.50 in or 26.50 in. Hole spacing 16 in or 24 in.
HealthCraft's current TDS prints ADA 610 notes for a finished install: top of the seat 17-19 in (43-48.5 cm) above the finished floor, rear edge 2.5 in (6.4 cm) max from the seat wall, front edge 15-16 in (38-40.5 cm) from the seat wall. Frame finishes: Grey, Matte Black, Oil Rubbed Bronze. Bamboo stain: Medium. Wood thickness 3/4 in.
Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want to see a finish sample before you order.
Wall structure and installation
The SerenaSeat is a wall-mount seat. HealthCraft prints that the frame spreads the 400 lb rating over a wide area of the wall, and that the rating holds only when the seat is installed into a secure structure. HealthCraft's current instructions (DC149 Rev C) say:
- Install to walls that are structurally sound. Add wood blocking if the location does not have adequate structure.
- Do not install if the structure behind the walls is unknown.
- Do not install into metal studs.
- Do not install on a fibreglass or acrylic enclosure that does not have enough stiffness. Add blocking if required.
- If you are not equipped to do the work, HealthCraft recommends a qualified contractor.
The carton includes the seat assembly, the top wall panel, and eight #10 x 3 in stainless wood screws. HealthCraft prints sitting only, one person, seat down before weight, do not stand on the seat. We can deliver the carton and leave the HealthCraft instructions. We do not invent stud or anchor advice beyond that manual.
HealthCraft INVISIA SerenaSeat specifications
These figures are for the current INV-WSAL SerenaSeat as printed on the HealthCraft brand page, the TDS issued 23 September 2025, and IFU DC149 Rev C. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use 400 lb, 18 in or 26 in, and the Medium bamboo stain. This is not the older Brazilian-walnut WS-18 seat and it is not SerenaSeat Pro.
Capacity 400 lb (181 kg). Seat 18 in or 26 in (457 mm or 660 mm). Product weight 16.7 lb (7.5 kg) on WSAL-18, 22.2 lb (10.1 kg) on WSAL-26. Folded profile less than 3.25 in (83 mm). Two hidden supports 15.5 in (39.4 cm). Tension hinge holds the fold. Removable back-rest panels. HealthCraft also prints Ontario Building Code Section 3.8.3.13 on the current TDS. Warranty for a Canadian purchaser follows HealthCraft's printed term: one year.
Folding wall seat or free-standing bath seat
A folding shower seat mounts on the wall and folds away. A free-standing bath seat sits in the tub or the stall on four legs. A transfer bench bridges the tub wall. The SerenaSeat is a folding wall-mount shower seat. It is not a free-standing bath seat and it is not a transfer bench.
Pick the SerenaSeat when the stall is being built or renovated and the wall can take the structure HealthCraft asks for. Pick a free-standing seat such as the AquaSense 770-510 when you need a seat that does not go into the wall. Pair the SerenaSeat with a HealthCraft grab bar if you want a grab point on the same wall line. Grab-bar install follows that product's own manual.
Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Frequently asked questions
How Does the SerenaSeat Hold 400 lb Without Legs?
The HealthCraft INVISIA SerenaSeat frame is designed to spread the load over a wide area of the wall. Combined with installation into a secure structure, HealthCraft allows a weight capacity up to 400 lb (181 kg). Stay at or under that rating. One person. Sitting only.
Do Wall Mount Shower Seats Need Studs?
HealthCraft prints that the SerenaSeat must be installed to structurally sound walls. If the location does not have adequate structure, add wood blocking. Do not install if the structure behind the wall is unknown. Do not install into metal studs. HealthCraft recommends a qualified contractor if you are not equipped to do the work.
What Seat Widths Does the SerenaSeat Come In?
The HealthCraft INVISIA SerenaSeat comes in 18 in (457 mm) and 26 in (660 mm). Use Seat Width to pick one. Those are two fixed widths, not a sliding adjuster.
Is the SerenaSeat Bamboo or Walnut?
The current HealthCraft INVISIA SerenaSeat seat is laminated bamboo. HealthCraft prints the stain as Medium. The older WS-18 Brazilian-walnut seat is a different product. We sell the current INV-WSAL bamboo seat.
How Do I Clean the SerenaSeat?
HealthCraft prints weekly cleaning with mild soap and water and a soft cloth, wiped with the grain, then dried. Do not use abrasive cleaners or commercial chemicals. The back-rest panels come off so you can clean the tile wall behind them.
Is This SerenaSeat Pro?
No. The seat Westin sells is the aluminum-frame INVISIA SerenaSeat, INV-WSAL. SerenaSeat Pro is a separate HealthCraft product with a stainless-steel frame.
Is This a Bath Seat or a Transfer Bench?
The HealthCraft INVISIA SerenaSeat is a folding wall-mount shower seat. It is not a free-standing bath seat and it is not a transfer bench. Use a free-standing seat if the wall cannot take the structure HealthCraft asks for.
What Is the Warranty on the SerenaSeat?
HealthCraft prints a one year warranty on the SerenaSeat in DC149 Rev C, for the original purchaser, against defects in materials and workmanship. We run the manufacturer claim with you.
