Description
The Golden Stride is Golden Technologies' GP-301 folding aluminum power wheelchair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The person drives with the compact joystick.
Golden lists a 300 lb (136 kg) rating, speeds up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h), a 23.6 inch (60 cm) turning radius, and up to 9.3 miles (15.0 km) per charge on the 10AH 24V lithium-ion pack. The chair weighs 52.6 lbs (23.9 kg) without the battery, joystick, cushion, and bag. Golden weighs the assembled chair at 58.0 lbs (26.3 kg).
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Golden's 17 by 18 inch sling seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants an aluminum folder with comfort spring suspension for mixed indoor and outdoor days. Families usually call us when a 33 lb carbon cricket feels too light for grass or cracked sidewalks, and they still want a one-step fold for the trunk.
If you want a lighter carbon fold, start with the Golden Cricket GP-302 or the Cricket LT. If you want center-wheel drive and a 10 inch folded height, see the Buzzaround CarryOn power wheelchair.
- A 52.6 lb aluminum one-step fold, without battery, joystick, cushion, and bag
- Comfort spring suspension front and back
- A 10AH 24V lithium pack Golden prints as airline-approved, with the airline still to confirm
Range, speed, and batteries
The Golden Stride travels up to 9.3 miles (15.0 km) per charge on the standard 10AH 24V lithium-ion pack. Golden's footnote says range changes with rider weight, drive surface, terrain, and battery type, and the printed figure is at 200 lbs.
Top speed is up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h). The charger is a 2 Amp off-board unit. The controller is 50 Amp. Golden weighs that pack at 3.8 lbs (1.7 kg). Off-board charging is standard.
Portability and transport
Golden folds the Stride in one step and secures it with a Velcro strap. Folded size on the sell sheet is 42.5 by 24.4 by 15.7 inches. It stands on end for storage. It does not take apart like a LiteRider Envy.
Golden prints the 10AH lithium pack as airline-approved and still leaves the flight to the airline. Consult the airline before you fly. Golden does not print a watt-hour figure on this sell sheet, so we do not invent one.
Golden Stride specifications
These figures are for Golden model GP301, as printed on Golden Canada's SHT-GP301-CAN-0326 sell sheet and the January 2026 Canada brochure. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Do not mix these numbers with the Cricket GP-302 (33.2 lbs minus parts, 22 inch turn) or the CarryOn power chair (center-wheel, 46 lb base).
Warranty on the Canada sell sheet is 5 years on the frame, 13 months on the drive train, 13 months on electronics, and 12 months on the batteries.
Stride, Cricket, or CarryOn
The Stride is Golden's 300 lb aluminum folder with spring suspension, a 23.6 inch turn, and a 52.6 lb minus-parts figure. The Cricket GP-302 is the lighter carbon forward-fold. The Buzzaround CarryOn power wheelchair is the center-wheel folder with a 46 lb base and a 21 inch turn. They are separate Golden models. Pick Stride for the aluminum ride and the 17 by 18 inch sling. Pick a Cricket for less lift. Pick CarryOn for center-wheel drive.
Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this power wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, unfold it, and show you the joystick, the one-step fold, and the charger before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This power wheelchair folds for a car trunk. If it is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden Canada's Stride sell sheet prints 5 years on the frame, 13 months on the drive train, 13 months on electronics, and 12 months on the batteries for the original purchaser. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. Gradual battery wear from storage, cold, or heavy use is outside the battery term. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
