Description
The Golden Buzzaround CarryOn power wheelchair is Golden Technologies' GP130 folding center-wheel travel chair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The person drives with the joystick. This is the power wheelchair, not the CarryOn folding scooter.
Golden lists a 300 lb (136 kg) rating, speeds up to 3.85 mph (6.2 km/h), a 21 inch (53 cm) turning radius, and up to 12.5 miles (20.1 km) per charge on the 12.5 AH lithium-ion pack. The base weighs 46 lbs (20.9 kg) without the seat and battery. Folded height is 10 inches (25 cm).
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who wants a folding center-wheel travel chair, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and needs a 21 inch turn for tight indoor spaces. Families usually call us when a rear-drive folder feels too long in the hallway, or when a cruise line wants the chair stored in the stateroom instead of the corridor.
If you want a lighter carbon fold, start with the Golden Cricket LT. If you want a 330 lb folding travel chair with a mobile app, see the Golden Ally. The CarryOn power wheelchair is not the Buzzaround CarryOn folding scooter.
- Center-wheel drive with a 21 inch turning radius
- A 46 lb base, without seat and battery, that folds to 10 inches high
- A 12.5 AH lithium pack Golden prints as airline-friendly, with the airline still to confirm
Range, speed, and batteries
The Golden Buzzaround CarryOn power wheelchair travels up to 12.5 miles (20.1 km) per charge on the standard 12.5 AH lithium-ion pack. Golden's footnote says range changes with rider weight, drive surface, terrain, and battery type, and the printed figure is at 200 lbs.
Top speed is up to 3.85 mph (6.2 km/h). The charger is a 2 Amp off-board unit. The controller is 40 Amp. Golden weighs that pack at 6 lbs (2.7 kg) and includes a battery travel case so the pack can travel separately.
Portability and transport
Golden folds the CarryOn to 10 inches (25 cm) high and also splits it with PowerLink connectivity. Assembled weight is 74 lbs (33.6 kg): a 46 lb base, a 22 lb (10.0 kg) seat, and a 6 lb battery. Independent 4-wheel suspension and a springless articulating chassis stay with the base.
Golden prints the 12.5 AH lithium pack as airline-friendly and says it can come off as carry-on for air, sea, or train. That is still subject to the airline or cruise line. Confirm the carrier before you book. Golden's Canada card also prints the chair as cruise-approved for stateroom storage after the 7 March 2024 scooter-storage rules. Confirm the line.

CarryOn power chair or a Golden folder
The CarryOn power wheelchair is Golden's 300 lb center-wheel folder with a 46 lb base, a 21 inch turn, and a 12.5 mile printed range. The Stride is the rear-drive aluminum folder. The Cricket LT is the 25.8 lb carbon side-fold. The Ally is the 330 lb app-ready folder. They are separate Golden models. Pick CarryOn when you want center-wheel drive and a 10 inch folded height.
Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden Canada's CarryOn power-chair sell sheet prints 5 years on the frame, 13 months on the drive train, 13 months on electronics, and 12 months on the batteries for the original purchaser. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. Gradual battery wear from storage, cold, or heavy use is outside the battery term. We handle the warranty claim with you.
