Description
The Pride GoChair Med is Pride Mobility's GOCHAIRMED portable power wheelchair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is a take-apart travel power chair. The person drives with the joystick. It does not fold as one piece.
Pride's current page and 061826 brochure list a 300 lb rating, speeds up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h), a 25.5 inch turning radius, and up to 9.41 miles (15.1 km) per charge on the 20 Ah battery pack. Feather-touch disassembly splits the chair. The heaviest piece is the 36 lb rear section on that brochure.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Pride's 18 by 17 inch or 20 by 18 inch compact seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants Pride's current GoChair Med take-apart chair rather than the original Go Chair. Families usually call us when they were sent a GOCHAIRMED card and need that chair, not the older GOCHAIR listing.
If you want the original Pride Go Chair (model GOCHAIR), see the Pride Go Chair Portable. If you want a chair that folds in one piece, start with the Pride Jazzy Carbon 27 or the Pride Jazzy Ultra Light.
- Daily indoor use with a 25.5 inch turn
- A power chair that comes apart for the car, with a 36 lb heaviest piece
- A 20 Ah battery pack and a 2 amp off-board charger
Design and build
Pride builds the GoChair Med as a two-motor, rear-wheel-drive base with limited suspension. Front casters are 6 inch solid. Drive wheels are 9 inch solid. Rear anti-tips are 2 inch solid. A large perforated footplate and a 60 inch lap belt come with the chair. Electronics are a 40 amp PG GC3. The current brochure prints black as the colour.
The seat is compact foldable black vinyl on a 5-point swivel with a latch release. Pride lists 18 inch wide by 17 inch deep at 29 lbs, or 20 inch wide by 18 inch deep at 32 lbs, including the joystick. Pride's owner manual says an authorized Pride provider or a qualified technician must do the first setup.
Feather-touch disassembly is Pride's one-hand split. Remove the foldable seat, then the battery, then pull the lever to separate the front and rear. The chair is not a one-piece fold.
Pride GoChair Med specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU GO-CHAIRMED, Pride model GOCHAIRMED. Pride's current product page and 061826 brochure print up to 3.7 mph and up to 9.41 miles. The August 2024 spec sheet INFINFB4272 also prints up to 3.8 mph, up to 12.1 miles (19.5 km) at 200 lb, and up to 9.8 miles (15.7 km) at 300 lb. Copy uses the current page and brochure for the headline numbers.
Pride lists a 300 lb (136 kg) capacity and a 25.5 inch (648 mm) turning radius. Length is 33 inches with the footplate and 28.5 inches without front riggings. Brochure overall width is 25.5 inches with armrests. The spec sheet prints 23 inches for the power base only. Ground clearance is 1.75 inches (45 mm) at the motor. Seat-to-ground height is 22 to 23 inches.
The current battery is a 20 Ah pack that Pride weighs at 31.4 lbs (14.2 kg). The charger is a 2 amp off-board unit. Heaviest piece when disassembled is 36 lbs for the rear section on the brochure, and 36.5 lbs (16.5 kg) on the spec sheet.
Warranty for the original purchaser is Pride's 5-year limited term on the main frame, 2 years on electronics in Canada (13 months on the US insert), 13 months on the drivetrain, and 13 months on batteries. Wear items such as tires, upholstery, and shrouds sit outside that term.
GoChair Med or Go Chair
The Pride GoChair Med (model GOCHAIRMED) is the chair on this page: up to 3.7 mph and up to 9.41 miles on the current brochure, black shroud, 20 Ah pack. The Pride Go Chair (model GOCHAIR) is a different Pride chair: up to 3.8 mph and up to 11.2 miles, with six shroud colours. They share the feather-touch split and the 36 lb rear section. They are not the same product with two names.
Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the ADP-approved price of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this power wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble the pieces, and show you the joystick, the freewheel levers, and the charger before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom, or Mobility Specialties, our partner store in Etobicoke, if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This power wheelchair is larger than small parcel goods. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Pride manufacturer warranty
Pride's current GoChair Med brochure prints a 5-year limited term on the frame and 13-month limited terms on the drivetrain, electronics, and batteries for the original purchaser. Pride's July 2024 standard power insert lengthens the electronics term to 2 years in Canada. Gradual battery wear from storage, cold, or heavy use is outside the battery term. We handle the warranty claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
How Far Will The GoChair Med Go On One Charge?
Pride's current GoChair Med brochure and website print up to 9.41 miles (15.1 km) per charge on the 20 Ah pack. The August 2024 spec sheet also prints up to 12.1 miles (19.5 km) at 200 lb and up to 9.8 miles (15.7 km) at 300 lb. Plan a shorter day than the headline figure if the person is near 300 lb or the route is not flat.
What Battery And Charger Does It Use?
Pride's current GOCHAIRMED sheet is a 20 Ah battery pack that weighs 31.4 lbs, with a 2 amp off-board charger. Charge it with the charger Pride supplies. Do not mix this pack with the lithium boxes on the Jazzy Carbon 27 or Ultra Light.
Does It Fold, Or Does It Come Apart?
It comes apart. Pride calls this feather-touch disassembly. The seat lifts off, then the battery, then a release lever splits the front and rear of the base. Pride lists the heaviest piece at 36 lbs for the rear section. It is not a one-piece carbon fold.
Is This The Same Chair As The Pride Go Chair?
No. The Pride GoChair Med on this page is model GOCHAIRMED: up to 3.7 mph and 9.41 miles on the current brochure. The Pride Go Chair is model GOCHAIR: up to 3.8 mph and 11.2 miles. They share the take-apart idea. They are not a rename of one product.
What Is The Indoor Turning Radius?
Pride lists 25.5 inches (648 mm) for the GoChair Med. The chair is 25.5 inches wide with armrests on the current brochure (23 inches on the power-base-only spec sheet).
What Is The Weight Capacity?
Pride lists 300 lbs (136 kg) on GOCHAIRMED. Stay at or under that rating.
Will It Fit In A Car?
Pride designed the feather-touch split for transport. The heaviest single piece is 36 lbs on the brochure. We can walk through the split at delivery. Pride does not print a folded-as-one size, because the chair does not fold as one piece.
Can It Go On A Plane Or A Cruise?
Pride does not print an airline-compliant claim for the GoChair Med. The pack is a 20 Ah sealed pack, not the lithium box used on the Jazzy Carbon 27. Ask the airline before you fly.
What Is The Warranty?
Pride prints 5 years on the frame and 13 months on drivetrain, electronics, and batteries. In Canada the standard power insert makes electronics 2 years. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
