Golden rates it at 300 lbs (136 kg), 5 mph (8.0 km/h), and 12.5 miles (20.1 km) at 200 lbs on two 22 AH batteries. The turning radius is 48 inches (122 cm). Assembled weight is 133 lbs (60.3 kg). The heaviest piece is the 52 lb (23.6 kg) front half.
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who wants a portable 4-wheel scooter that comes apart without wires, stays at or under 300 lbs, and prefers a 17 by 16 inch stadium seat over a compact Buzzaround. Families usually call us when they want four wheels on pavement and still need the pieces to lift into a car.
If you want a tighter 39 inch turn, see the LiteRider 3-Wheel. If you want a 325 lb lithium 4-wheel with a 39 inch MicroTurn, see the Buzzaround XL Plus. The LiteRider does not fold.
- 300 lb (136 kg) rating and a 48 inch (122 cm) turn
- Two 22 AH batteries, 12.5 miles (20.1 km) at 200 lbs
- Wireless six-piece disassembly; 52 lb (23.6 kg) front half
Range, speed, and batteries
Golden's current LiteRider sell sheet rates the GL141 at 12.5 miles (20.1 km) at 200 lbs (91 kg) on two 22 AH batteries. Top speed is 5 mph (8.0 km/h). Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten those figures. The charger is off-board. Golden asks for 6 to 8 hours after daily use and 12 hours on a new pack.
The battery pack weighs 29 lbs (13.2 kg). A 90 amp Dynamic R-Series controller and rear-wheel drive move the scooter. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it. The LED headlight is adjustable. The tiller is a wraparound Delta. Dual bottle holders sit with the under-seat basket.
Portability and transport
The LiteRider 4-wheel disassembles into six pieces with no wires to connect. Golden lists the front half at 52 lbs (23.6 kg), the rear at 28 lbs (12.7 kg), the seat at 21 lbs (9.5 kg), and the battery pack at 29 lbs (13.2 kg). Assembled weight is 133 lbs (60.3 kg). Width is 22 inches (56 cm). It does not fold.
The 22 AH batteries are sealed lead-acid. Golden does not call the LiteRider an airline scooter. Confirm the airline before you book. The owner manual says not to operate or store the scooter in rain, snow, mist, or below-freezing temperatures.

LiteRider 3-wheel or 4-wheel: which portable fits
The LiteRider 4-wheel is the four-wheel step: 48 inch turn, 12.5 miles, 52 lb front half. The LiteRider 3-Wheel keeps the same 300 lb rating and 5 mph speed with a 39 inch turn and a 44 lb front half. The Buzzaround XL 4-Wheel is the more compact 300 lb travel scooter if you want a lighter heaviest piece. Pick the 4-wheel LiteRider for pavement stability. Pick the 3-wheel for indoor turning.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
