Golden rates it at 375 lbs (170 kg), 5 mph (8.0 km/h), and 18 miles (29.0 km) per charge at 200 lbs on two U1 batteries. The heaviest piece is 57 lbs (25.9 kg). This scooter is for a person who wants 4-wheel mobility scooter stability, a 375 lb rating, and a luxury high-back, and who can accept a 54 inch turn and a 57 lb front half. Families usually call us when the EX 4-wheel seat is not enough support and the rider still needs the scooter to come apart.
If indoor aisles matter more than the extra front wheel, start with the LX 3-Wheel. If 350 lbs is enough, see the EX 4-Wheel. The LX is not a folding airline scooter.

Range, speed, and batteries
Golden's current LX sell sheet rates the GB149 at up to 18 miles (29.0 km) per charge at 200 lbs (91 kg), and 5 mph (8.0 km/h). That is the same two-U1 pack as the 3-wheel LX. Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten the printed range. The charger is off-board. Golden asks for a 12 hour first charge, then 6 to 8 hours after daily use.
A 90 amp controller and rear-wheel drive move the LX. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it. One switch runs the LED lighting package, including the V-shaped front running light. A USB port on the tiller charges a phone.
Portability and transport
The Buzzaround LX 4-wheel comes apart into six pieces. Golden lists the front half at 57 lbs (25.9 kg), the rear half at 36 lbs (16.3 kg), the seat at 32 lbs (14.5 kg), and the two U1 packs at 48 lbs (21.8 kg) together. Assembled weight is 174 lbs (78.9 kg). Width is 22 inches (56 cm).
It is a portable full-size scooter, not a folding airline scooter. The batteries are sealed U1 units. Golden does not call the LX airline-friendly. The Charge Deck, Y-cable, and bumper kit are the factory extras shared with the EX.

Use Choose Color to pick Velvet Red or Coastal Blue. Golden also offers optional shroud kits in White, Yellow, Grey, Pink, Green, and Tan. Ask us if you need a colour that is not in Choose Color. Left-hand controls have to be written on the order.

The 4-wheel LX is the top luxury portable: 375 lbs, quilted high-back, 18 mile U1 pack, 54 inch turn. The LX 3-Wheel keeps this seat and turns in 40.5 inches. The EX 4-Wheel is the 350 lb step on the same four-wheel chassis. Compact four-wheels are the XL 4-Wheel at 300 lbs and the XLS HD at 325 lbs. A 4-wheel tracks straighter outdoors; a 3-wheel is the tighter indoor tool.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost.
